  1. Pro Pool (Gottlieb 1973) 1.3.2

Another community VPX table originated by Loserman76 and then affectionately primped by the VPX community.

In addition to the original work done by Loserman76 and GNance, RajoJoey and teisen made changes to add VR support, touchup the plastics, lighting, bumpers, etc. (the complete list of changes is in the table script at the top of the file).

I have a cabinet with SSF (surround sound feedback) support and find many of the EM tables don't do SSF  justice. My changes bring in Fleep sounds and enhance the SSF support.

    - VR support
    - DOF support
    - SSF support
    - no ROM required (EM table)
    - backglass file by hauntfreaks included
    - saved with VPX 10.8.

  3. Gigi (Gottlieb 1963)_Teisen_MOD

First I would like to thank Loserman76 for the beautiful work... wherever he is playing pinball!

small changes were made only aesthetically

small improvements in the playfield, plastics, lighting, flippers position...  I want to make it clear that the descriptions for the tables I'm sharing are "standard" for all, changes are made when there is a need for some adjustment.

version used, follow the link to the original table

B2s made by Wildman! Thank you for your work and collaboration

    Adjustments made:

    - Playfield touch-ups
    - cap bumpers
    - added primitive to the base of the bumpers and lighting
    - lighting
    - metals
    - screws
    - new pov
    - illumination of lost balls
    - new backdrop
    - other small touches

    Loserman Description:
    VPX conversion of Gigi
    thanks to GNance, Arngrim
others to thank: JPSalas, Pinuck, hauntfreaks, Borgdog
in addition to the "standard" keys (typically "1" to start game and "5" for coin), I've added "3" as another coin input and "4" for coin and auto-start game (like I recall the dime slots generally were) to simulate 3 coin slots

For the manual ball lift you can use either the start game button (typically "1") OR you can use the letter "A".
when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. left flipper selects item, right flipper changes option.
I've also included shadows for the ball and flippers. If you want to turn them off look for these lines at the beginning of the script:
    Const ShadowFlippersOn = true
    Const ShadowBallOn = true
change to false if you want either of the shadows not showing on your tables

  4. Beat The Clock (Bally 1985) VPW

    It’s about time!

This project started with ArmyAviation’s great playfield redraw and initial table build. Apophis played the table and instantly loved the unique gameplay. Inspired, Apophis decided to use this project as his first serious attempt at fully rendering a table in blender… so it took a while. Thanks to the team for all the help! Enjoy.

    VPW TEAM
Apophis - Project lead, 3D modeling/rendering and script integration, physics, sounds, VR room
ArmyAviation - Playfield and plastics redraw, initial table build
    TastyWasps - VR backglass scripting
    Primetime5k - Extensive testing
    HauntFreaks - Backglass assets
    DarthVito – VR posters
Thanks to Bord, Flux, and Tomate for providing blender models and support!
Thanks to Destruk and Goldchicco as their previous work on this title was used for reference.
Thanks to all testers: Studlygoorite, PinStratsDan, DGrimmReaper, Ciffy, RetroRitchie, Mikepmcs

  5. Super Orbit (Gottlieb 1983)

Gottlieb's Super Orbit! Lots of fun to play, with a varitarget, orbits, and lots of bonus opportunities.  Redbone spent considerable time to get the playfield and plastic images just right, as resources for this table were very limited.  As usual lots of hours were put in on this one, and lots of tweaking on the varitarget and physics to emulate a real machine.

I implemented the latest VPW standards, physics, GI and shadow baking, Lampz and 3D inserts, dynamic shadows, updated backglass for desktop, roth standup and varitarget targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, optional DIP adjustments, updated flipper physics, VR and fully hybrid modes, Flupper style bumpers and lighting, gBOT system and trough. Redbone provided the playfield and updated the plastics and apron, and other images.  Hauntfreaks provided the higher resolution VR backglass and Silversurfer updated the cab artwork. I also added options for balls, ball brightness, LUTs, Dip settings, siderails, and plenty of other VR stuff.  DarthVito provided a few additional wallpaper VR Room walls.

You can find the ROM at pinballnirvana.com... sorbit.zip.

Also, I've included the nvram file to initially set the Dips, as the ROM creates settings that should be adjusted.  You can either grab the nvram file and put it in your nvram directory, or follow this process to do an initial setup for yourself.  (When you open the table, hit F6 (that'll load the default DIPS and display them). You can then select various ROM options, and I recommend these shown below.  Once entered, you can exit out, and in the script, you can set the SetDIPSwitches to zero. That will set the ROM settings and turn off the option.  If you later want to change that, you can turn it back on and change the dips.)
    - 3 ball
    - Playfield special of "extra ball"
    - Game mode of "replay"
    - Novelty of "normal"
    - Check the Match, Credits

Thanks again to Redbone for the playfield and plastic images, Rothbauerw for the varitarget code, Hauntfreaks for the updated VR Backglass, DarthVito for additional VR walls, and Silversurfer for the cab art images! Also thanks to everyone else from the VPW team that provided feedback!

  8. Judge Dredd (Bally 1993) VPW

I AM THE LAW! - V-Pin Workshop proudly presents Judge Dredd from Bally.

This table has been a long time coming! It was started in December 2020 when Sixtoe decided to bring one of his favorite tables up to date (after having converting Dozer's version earlier in the year to VR and discovering it was still an old, albeit well made, vp9 table at heart).
It was decided that due to the complexity of the table, rather than modify an existing table we'd start from scratch using all new assets and rendering the table out, so here were are 11 months later (there were coffee breaks) and we're really happy with the way it turned out and hope you enjoy it!

     V-Pin Workshop Judge Dredd Team
Sixtoe - Project Lead, VPX Monkey, lives on gin, jack of all trades, master of none. Tomate - Primitives, Baron of Blender, helping Sixtoe to not suck (as much) at 3D stuff. iaakki - Scripting, Physics, Insert lighting, Complicated Stuff. Benji - Physics, Deadworld & Banana insert primitives. Daphishbowl & iaakki - Deadworld & Crane code (here be dragons). Flupper - Flipper & Insert primitives, ramp tutorial, general rendering assistance. Cyberpez - Opto's and VUK prims, aftermarket crane models, general assistance. RothebauerW - Physics tutorial, drop and standup target bug fixing, general assistance. Fluffhead, Apophis and Wylte - RTX Ball Shadows, general assistance. gtxjoe - Ball trough tweaking assistance. 3rdaxis - VR cabinet improvements, Working coin door and manual. Embee & Kingdids - Original crane primitive and texture redraw. EBisLit - Playfield photos. DJRobX - Still answering Sixtoes coding questions... Rik & VPW Team - Testing Everyone in VPW for their support and encouragement!
    Notes
Only use JD-L1 Rom! Lots of options in the script, including VR and Cabinet modes. Table designed on and for VPX 10.6.2 (Rev 8678), tested OK on VPX 10.7.0 Final (Rev 310)
Do not use 10.7 328 as it's broken and breaks this and other tables
    How To Play
Start Button  -  Start normal Game Plunger  -  Launch Ball (note: real machine does not have a plunger, right firebutton launches balls) Right Magnasave  -  Start "Super Game" (instant multiball - needs 2 credits) Left Magnasave  -  Change LUT until game starts, then launches ball from left plunger lane in Air Raid / Missile mode. How to activate DeadWorld  -  Hit J-U-D-G-E drop targets in order (ball in judge subway lights a letter) How to start DW multiball  -  Get 3 balls into deadworld using left pursuit ramp after lighting J-U-D-G-E. How to get Ultimate Challenge  -  Defeat all 4 dark judges or light all chain missions.

  9. Star Gazer (Stern 1980) by arborelia

This is my first VPX modification. I based this on the version by @Felsir, with permission.

Star Gazer is one of my favorite pinball machines. I got to play it recently at Rochester Pinball Collective, and I watched the high-level competition on it on the stream of INDISC 2024. I wanted to make this VPX table play like what I'd played and seen. But none of this would be possible without having Felsir's version to start from.

This table is often about flow and on-the-fly shots, because the unusually low flipper angle stops you from trapping the ball very often. Time your shot to the upper drops - the first one you hit in the bank determines whether clearing the drops or ripping the top spinner is worth big points.

    My changes (v2.0):

    - Reworked the physics - more friction, slightly weaker flippers, stronger pops, weaker plunger, more flipper elastic.
    - Fixed flipper angles and the position of the left flipper. They really do look like that -- these flippers at rest point downward more than other tables.
    - Made physics sounds audible over the very loud beeps from the ROM. You're presumably running the table at a low volume overall.
    - Increased the strength of digital nudging, but made the tilt more sensitive.
    - Corrected some playfield text.

I'm happy to see further mods as long as they make things better.

    Thanks to espie for playtesting.

  12. Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends (Data East - 1993) v1.06

Here is an update to Rocky and Bullwinkle.  TastyWasps added in all the good stuff, and made it play like a million bucks!! Few other tweaks here and there.  Enjoy!  -cp

    v1.06 - Upgrades:
cyberpez & Scottacus - Nell Saw Fixed
TastyWasps - nFozzy/Roth Physics, Fleep Sounds, Dynamic Ball Shadows, 2 Auto-Detect VR Rooms, Gameplay Balance / Enhancements
    Passion4Pins - Desktop Rails
Arvid - Original VR Room Assets
    VPW Testing Team

    ----------------------------------------
Here's the notes from the original release.
    ----------------------------------------
This was a scratch build.  Playfield I stitched together from some high-res photos I found online.  Plastics are scans from FBX.  Ramp decals, custom sidewalls, and a few other things I redrew myself.  Most all of the 3D models I did myself.  I know there are probably a few from Dark and Zany hiding in there somewhere.  Sliderpoint was a huge help off and on with this build.  He took a ton of pictures of his real machine.  Measured all of his ramps and tweaked the VP ramps to get them just right.  He also took videos of all of the SOL sounds that I edited and used for most all the VP table sounds.  He also helped align and tweak the placements of objects early on.  A while back Wrd19 came in and fine-tuned the physics.  For what its worth I think it plays great.

You will need to use the latest 10.6 version of VPX.  As always, check the top of the script for options!!!!

    --------------------

    Credits/Thanks:

Me: table build, playfield stitch, ramp decal redraws, ramps, lots of little primitives here and there.
Sliderpoint: Resource pics, ramp and table tweaks.  Big help making this table great!!
Wrd1972: Physics, playtesting and other tweaks along the way
Rothbauerw:  Being a code wizard and for putting up with Wrd and me. Playtesting.
Dark: Different models here and there
    FBX: plastic scans.
    themotherbrain: testing and feedback
nFozzy: I'm using his new fading lights + a few tweaks by me.
DJRobX: SSF code and thanks to RustyCardores for showing me the way, you can't go back!!  Ball drop tweaks by Roth and me.
Last but not least the developers and other table authors.  This community is nothing without everyone doing their part!!!!!!

    Victory for the good guys!!

  14. Pokemon slots

Hi all! Something different this time. I wanted to see if i could make a slotmachine in vpx.

For this slotmachine you need vpx 10.8 and the new backglasserver 2.1.0 i hadn't updated for a long time.

When i was young i played a-lot of pokemon and to get a polygon you had to gamble 9999 coins on the slot machines in the celadon gamecorner to own one.
I tried to rebuild that that feeling, hours of playing to get that pokemon. In this version you only can earn credits. maybe in a later version it will be more 3d and earn prizes. There is just so much what you can do in vpx.

A huge thanks to Oqqsan for helping with the scoreboard so the scoring credits work, also for the trouble shooting as always super appreciated.

How it works when the slot machine is loaded:
press start(1 on the keyboard for 50 credits)
with the right flipper you can select the lines(1/3)
with the left flipper you confirm the lines
the reels are spinning now good luck!
With the right flipper you can stop one roll(do this three times and see if you are lucky)
after a turn you will be back in the selecting menu to select your lines (TIP if you press just the left flipper after a round is over you select the same chosen lines)
After you are gameover, you have to press start again to play again.

As always there is a B2S and wheel in the package so everything is included, it doesn't need a rom.

How many credits do you win?

Also thanks to TastyWasps for: VR integration (based on rajojoey), fleep sounds, dynamic ball shadows, script cleanup, desktop digits, deluxe VR Room. Major assists from Wylte, Hauntfreaks, DGrimmReaper, DarthVito, and testers at VPW.

  16. Paragon (Bally 1979)

Just like with Lost World, iaakki picked up this old crusty Paragon build and revamped the physics, giving it a new lease on life. RothbauerW helped with drop target physics. Fleep sounds, dynamic ball shadows and VR room by TastyWasps based on a VR room by Rajo Joey. Upscales by redbone. Tested at VPW.

Visuals aren't as modernized as I'd like them to be, but it holds up ok.

  19. Banzai Run (Williams 1988)

Welcome Race Fans to Banzai Run!

Since Visual Pinball was created, Banzai Run has been difficult to re-create due to the fact that is has one of the most unique designs in mechanical pinball with an upper playfield mechanism that replaces the backglass.

There have been some great solutions but none that serve all 3 platforms for cabinet, desktop and VR.

However, JPSalas (with the help of Aubrel) released a very innovative idea to have a "sliding" playfield to make up for some limitations of Visual Pinball point of view scripting.

JP's modified table was used to build a prototype that had a normal backbox and backglass with the sliding playfield for VR thus having a level playing field for all 3 platforms in competitions, etc.

However, it did look quite odd in VR so RothbauerW took on the task of integrating a hybrid model that took some cues from the awesome VR Room that Sixtoe had previously built for Banzai Run.

After some heavy integration work, physics modeling, upscaling, tweaks, play balancing and a lot of testing, this version of Banzai Run will hopefully represent the best solution at this time given the Visual Pinball architecture.

    Here are the commendations:

Based on JPSalas' v4.0 table.  Thank you JPSalas!  This included a playfield from EBIsLit and other coding from Aubrel.

THANK YOU to all previous authors on this table!

About 4 months ago, I reached out to @xenonph for permission to mod his phenomenal Hankin's Empire Strikes Back table mod. After discussing our love of Star Wars, we decided to pursue a full version of Star Wars Episode 1 (Williams 1999), using ESB as the base. For those familiar with Episode 1, it was the second Pinball 2000 table, the first being Revenge from Mars. Pinball 2000 roms are not available and, to make matters more complicated, the table uses a mirrored playfield and graphics to create a hologram of sorts. While the hologram effect is very cool, we decided not to tackle it with this release, although it may be possible through a Pup Pack, or some playfield effects like we've seen with Wacky Races, Pokemon, etc.

However, instead of the holograms, @xenonph did something amazing...again. If you've watched videos of the original table, you'll hear music from the original trilogy. And sound effects like TIE Fighters. Well, that's not the case with our table-Duel of Fates? You bet. Call outs and sound effects from the Phantom Menace? Totally.

On behalf of my partner in creativity @xenonph, we hope you enjoy our tribute to Episode 1 pinball.

in addition to the "standard" keys (typically "1" to start game and "5" for coin), I've added "3" as another coin input and "4" for coin and auto-start game (like I recall the dime slots generally were) to simulate 3 coin slots
when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. left flipper selects item, right flipper changes option.
I've also included shadows for the ball and flippers. If you want to turn them off look for these lines at the beginning of the script:
    Const ShadowFlippersOn = true
    Const ShadowBallOn = true
change to false if you want either of the shadows not showing on your tables

For this table I used the VR version that RajoJoey made for this table by Loserman76!

version used, follow the link to the original table

    Adjustments made:

    - Plastics color correction
    - bumpers

The table is made by the great Jeff Whitehead (Loserman76).
May he rest in peace. 😞 I hope, there are pinballs where you are, Jeff.
I would like to thank Jeff, for allowing me, to convert his tables to VR.

    Info
It is a hybrid table. So you can play in VR, desktop or cabinet mode, but you need the external backglass.
There is no need to change the script. A VR headset is automatically detected.

    I added the following things:
VR room, artwork for cabinet, backbox and flyer, animations for buttons and plungers, LUT files (change with magnasave buttons).

    '*        Table build/scripted by Loserman76
    '*        Image redraws/touchups/fixes by GNance
'*        Original images by Mike Farmer
'*        VR update by Rajo Joey

Works in 10.7.2, but best to play in VPinball_GL 10.8: https://github.com/v...ws/vpinball.yml

    ***********************************************
These are quick conversions, as I don't like playing in a dark room and don't want to spend more days or weeks to convert a table.
If you want to do your own conversions, I wrote two tutorials for EM tables like Loserman76's and make templates of the tables, pictures and materials.
Also there are some .psd files, to change the artwork in an easy way for example.
In the template tables there are generic artwork for the cabinet and the backbox. Some people may be happy with that and don't need the real artwork.
There is a short tutorial for people, who know the editor and a longer one for newbies. Both instructions are in English and German.

  25. Star Race (Gottlieb 1980) w VR Room

Gottlieb's Race Thru Space!  Another extended wide-body machine like Circus.  Lots of fun to play, two Varitargets, a hard to hit bonus saucer, and fast loops.  Redbone had been working on getting the playfield to a much better state, and reached out to me to see if I'd like to create the table from it.  It was very similar to physics, style, etc. from the Circus table that I just worked on, so I got to work. Lots of hours were put in on this one, and lots of tweaking on the Varitargets to emulate a real machine.

As usual, I updated to latest VPW standards, physics, GI and shadow baking, Lampz and 3D inserts, dynamic shadows, updated backglass for desktop, playfield mesh for a saucer bevel, roth drop and standup targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, optional DIP adjustments, updated flipper physics, varitargets, VR and fully hybrid modes, Flupper style bumpers and lighting, gBOT system and trough. Redbone provided the playfield and updated the plastics and apron, also provided some ambient sounds.  Hauntfreaks provided the higher resolution VR backglass and cab artwork. I also added options for balls, ball brightness, LUTs, Dip settings, ambient sounds, siderails, and plenty of other VR stuff.  Hauntfreaks even provided a fun space themed wallpaper VR Room walls.

I've included an option for two ROMS (you can find them at pinballnirvana.com... starrac7 and starrace).  The original 6 digit ROM, and a 7 digit ROM (so when you score over a million you can see it).  There's an option in the script to change that, however I've defaulted to the 7 digit.  Make sure to grab the correct backglass if you are in a cab environment.  Hauntfreaks just released the corresponding backglasses.

I've included the nvram files to initially set the Dips, as the ROM creates settings that should be adjusted.  You can either grab those nvram files and put them in your nvram directory, or follow this process to do an initial setup for yourself.
    - 3 ball, Playfield special of "extra ball"
    - Game mode of "replay"
    - Novelty of "normal"
    - Tilt of "ball in play"
    - Check the Match, Credits, Sound when scoring
    - AND most importantly, "Scoring Sounds Only".

Again note... the background sounds from this era can get kind of annoying... especially if you have a good bass speaker in your cab.  Make sure to follow the above procedure for turning the sounds option to "Scoring Sounds Only".

Thanks again to Redbone for the playfield and plastic images, the space sound, and Hauntfreaks for the updated Backglass, and cab art images! Also thanks to Rothbauerw for his linear target code, bietekwiet, passion4pins, and everyone else from the VPW team that provided feedback!
