"You wanted the best, you've got the best!!  Kiss!"

Bally's 1979 Kiss had a production run of 17,000 units, it is the seventh most produced pinball machine in history.  The theme is based upon the legendary self proclaimed "Greatest Band in the World", Kiss. Featuring members from the 1977 group costume era.

Thanks to @redbone for creating a high resolution playfield from various sources, including a high resolution playfield overlay scan provided from ClarkKent.  Redbone spent countless hours stitching, updating, and touching up the playfield to get looking as close to an actual full, high-resolution scan.  He also assisted on so many other graphics including the plastics, flippers, spinners, apron, and targets!  Also thanks to Hauntfreaks, as I used his brand new backglass for VR.

This table was done from scratch placing everything, and implementing the latest VPW (2025) standards, physics, alllamps and 3D inserts, backglass for desktop, roth drop and standup targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, optional DIP adjustments, updated flipper physics, VR and fully hybrid, Flupper style bumpers and lighting. I also baked the GI and interior wood walls.  I've once again studied hours of videos to ensure accurate placement, gameplay, bounces, physics, etc.

This table requires BOTH the kisse.zip AND the kiss.zip ROMs to work.

I've provided a .nvram file for the ROM menu settings, and I've hard coded the DIP switch settings as usual.

This table is loaded with options in the F12. Various balls, ball brightness, flippers, screw caps, spinners, targets, aprons, pegs, plastic edge colors, LUTs, Dip settings, and plenty of other VR stuff, including LED undercab lighting.

Please NOTE there are several items to consider on the ROM settings:  The default settings for the ROM options are hard coded into the script and are based on the recommended values from Bally for 3 ball conservative play.  If you want to change the ROM settings themselves, you need to change the "SetDIPSwitches to 1" in the script, and then use the F6 menu to change. However... I am not able to hard code the ROM menu options.  Typically, there are levels of score achievements that award a free play.  The default ROM has that set to off.  I've included an nvram file you can use that sets that to match the instruction/score cards and Bally's recommendation (280,000 and 520,000).  I also have instructions in the script on how to change that if you wish to do yourself.

Thanks again to Redbone, ClarkKent, and to everyone else from the VPW team that provided testing and feedback!

Fantastic table. Incredible gameplay and visuals. I just couldn't find the kisse.zip ROM anywhere, so I changed it to kissc.zip in the script.

Where can I get the kisse.zip rom?

Uncle Paulie keeps on rolling out these fun but highly challenging tables. I love the fact that the table is painstakingly tuned to play as close to the real thing as possible. It gives you a real sense of achievement once you manage to put a decent game together. Great job!

Few things scream "1979" louder than Bally's Kiss (10 year old me agrees)! This is making my Thursday during a week when Friday feels a million miles away (and I even had Monday off). THANKS, U.P.!  Your VPX library is becoming the stuff of legend. 🍻

5 stars yet again my friend! GORGEOUS work here and play is spot freakin' on.

I hate to be the one to correct you but KISS never claimed to be the "Greatest" band in the world. Every KISS fan knows they are the HOTTEST band in the world! :)

Thanks again for always treating (spoiling?) us with your amazing skill and finesse!

Shown here with @hauntfreaks absolutely amazing backglass- check out that mirroring!

Thank you thank you! This is my all time favorite table and my most played. My Dad bought this Kiss Bally table in 1989 when my parents were still married, and my sister and I played it to death until I went to college in 2002. The table was since sold and my Dad is no longer alive, but he was a MASSIVE fan of KISS. This table brings back more memories than anything about him actually. Almost brings a tear to my eye. Thank you for this huge update. The lighting, the SOUNDS are spot on and I can hear it like it was the real thing, just takes me back 30+ years in time!

The HOTTEST pinball in the world.... KISS!

I remember back in the summer of 1980. I walked into this hotel lobby and for first time in my life I saw something that I’ve never seen before. It was a machine with flashing lights. There was a teenager by that machine with a smoke in his mouth, smashing some buttons on the side, making a silver ball go up and down. It made sounds. I had no Idea what this was but my eyes were drawn to something that looked like a big box on the back of this machine. It was something VERY familiar. A huge flashing artwork with the best thing in my world. It was KISS! And it looked incredible!

Yes this was the very first time I’ve ever seen a pinball machine and I was totally BLOWN AWAY!

So when entering the VPX world many, many years later, one of the first tables to test was of course Kiss. I liked what I tried, but none of the editions really made me feel the way I felt back in the summer of 1980. That is until now... HOT DAMN! Finally the physics, the lighting, the gameplay is spot on. This is how Kiss pinball should play. This is how I remember this amazing machine. I’ve wished and prayed that unclepaulie would use his magic on this table, and now it has happened!  A HUGE tank you to you @UnclePaulie! You  just made me feel 7 years old again playing this machine for the very first time 🤩🤩

Man, this table really needed some love. I was a glutton for punishment continuing to play the older versions that are out there with a grimace on my face, as they are universally terrible. I eventually came to my senses, decided to call it a lost cause, and play some other stuff while waiting for someone to take up the reigns, and as I've said before: "who better"? UnclePaulie, the maestro never disappoints! So, a huge thank you to everyone involved for doing this one justice at long last!

This is a Beautiful thing, looks great and plays amazingly well, thanks so much for all your work on this everyone. If only the  rom sounds weren't so annoying, hard to believe that 17,000 of these machines were in circulation, according to ipdb there was a talking prototype, shame we never got to see that one.

Awesome! This table was the reason I looked into vp years ago. It sucked back then but holy moly you nailed it here. My neighbour, a huge kiss fan, is gonna love this. Much appreciated.

As close as you can get to the real thing! What an amazing table. Plays beautifully, silky smooth, and the customization options on this table are just astounding. Coupled with Hauntfreak's fantastic new BG, this is a must have for your collection. Thanks so much to Uncle Paulie and all who worked on this. To sum it up into one word, "Masterpiece".

I've been a huge KISS fan for almost 50 years, and it was only by chance that I found here a true to the original Bally KISS Pinball Machine for download in this forum. Without any background knowledge, I can only begin to imagine how much time and effort you put into creating your awesome work. Many thanks in particular to @UnclePaulie, but also to @Cliffy for his patience, to give me detailed installation instructions, to get the Bally KISS Pinball Machine running. ¡¡¡ I THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Yet another great choice of a pin masterfully recreated by everyone's favourite uncle!

Big thanks to UnclePaulie yet again for not just recreating another tournament classic that plays like a dream, but for the plethora of options that allow each user to make this pin look perfect on their particular set-up. In partnership with another beauty of a backglass from Hauntfreaks, this is another that will take pride of place on my cab.

Tremendous fun to play - mastering that centre top lane from the plunge is one thing, but when getting dialled-in on those tight spinner shots after lighting, scores start to ramp up! Playfield and lights are utterly gorgeous. Much appreciation for ClarkKent and the amazing, tireless work from Redbone.

Fantastic recreation of one of my most played/favorite tables as a kid. She looks and plays great (especially in VR) and all of the options are a treat to go through and check out. Thanks for the time spent and for sharing this beauty.
