I've played Fish Tales a lot over the years, especially as it was one of the first Pinball FX3 Williams tables. It took me a long time to figure out with Classic Arcade physics how to get enough control to lock balls and score super jackpots. In the process, I also figured out that there is a lot more going on, on the table with e.g. long casts and captive ball awards. You would think that I would be sick of the table by now, but trust me, this VPW version plays so intuitively well that you just can't put it down. Physics was painstakingly tuned to realistic perfection... if you lose the ball, it is definitely your fault 😜 . It also looks gorgeous with realistic reflections and refraction. Well done VPW!

Once again @VPinWorkshop raises the bar, even on itself! How many flagship titles can they create?  Take a look at the all star cast involved here. Veterans and new members pushing the absolute limits of realism in a virtual pinball machine. Being in the middle of the sausage making was exhilarating and often times almost unbearably nerve wracking. @rothbauerw guided this ship through some stormy seas at times but at all times with patience and tolerance. The end result is at the pinnacle of computer driven pinball realism and FUN!

The options added to the F12 tweak menu are amazing. You'll have every opportunity to fine tune your play and visual experience. Even though I only run desktop they give us an option to view @Rawd and @DaRdog81 amazing VR room as an animated backdrop! This baby really makes me want to jump into the VR side of this hobby. Watch out for the crab walking under you! The 3D modeling, the incredibly detailed @ClarkKent playfield scan and the @Brad1X redraw absolutely stunning.  Far too much to detail here, all these talented souls deserve our admiration and appreciation.  To polish it all off there is of course @hauntfreaks always gorgeous b2s, an @iDigStuff perfectly created alt slound and @NetzZwerg awesome color dmd!

Folks, we are spoiled rotten by the team at VPinWorkshop. Thanks a ton to all of you!

VPW glad I upgraded to vpx 10.8 RC1 ... night and day to a all ready amazing table (pushing the boundaries what vpx can do, just wow!). Future is looking good for VPX! Starship enterprise (couch mode) on my 86" LG TV looks insane!

So, I've never really been into this table because of the fishing theme and the music is just the worst. But here I am playing it again anyway and how could i not, because look at the work that went into this. It's a vpw home run yet again. As someone else pointed out, "a masterpiece". Thank you everyone!

ZEN are you here? Take a look at the lighting because this is how it's done. Look at the physics, take note.

Gorgeous Job!  Supurb!

Please do White Water next!!!  please please thank you

or can we have a community vote on which table is updated next?

Response from the author:

There is a fantastic version of Whitewater available by Flupper, we'd recommend that.

Also, we don't do requests, just what individual project leads fancy taking a look at and / or enjoy.

The only way you might get a table traction is if you could supply the team with a properly (flatbed) scanned playfield, full plastic scans and 3d scans of the toys, then it would significantly increase the chances of it being worked on.

Always the best!! It was a little glitchy at the start, but nothing a little change to the roughness on the render probes couldn't fix.

You have no idea how much I look forward to your releases!! I couldn't wait to replace the older Fish Tales table I had.

I have a real Getaway High Speed II table and love that era of Bally/Williams pinball machines!!!

Just updated my VPX version quickly to play this and OH man was it worth it! One of the most beautiful and realistic looking tables to date (an already high bar pushed higher) but the gameplay is very challenging and realistic, just like it should be! Much appreciation to some real Virtual Pinball Masters!

Absolutely love this.   Looks and plays incredible.   Paired with IDigStuff's alt sound of this table, it is pinball bliss.   It really doesn't get much better than this.   Thank you, all.

This table is really awesome! with great attention to detail (you can even see individual lights reflecting off of the rails). Fish Tales was my first VPX table, and I have never grown tired of it! It is a top notch table in, both, real life and digital versions. What a fantastic upgrade to the pinball58 edition, and excellent addition for the visual pinball community. 100% chance this will be added to the ETL in Update #4. ;)

It's superb! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 It flips better than the last real Fish Tales I tried. I play with 3D glasses in anaglyph mode. It feels like the real thing! Great work guys. Thanks so much!

Everyone involved - thank you. Seriously, it is amazing what a group of talented individuals can do for this hobby. You guys keep killing it. I disabled the refraction probes as recommended and it helped with the micro stuttering I was getting from all the flashing lights! Thanks again 😁IMG_2531.thumb.jpeg.3fea732598886ee3265bc23305edb03d.jpeg

What can I say, how much better can these tables get?

The VR environment (we cannot talk about room anymore) looks great, that alone is a reason for VPX players to get a VR headset.

I had to decrease the settings to get that running on my old pc but it was worth. Thanks for the good pdf instructions for doing that.

One of the best tables of all time (and the one that got me into virtual pinball as the free fx3 table)... *finally* done right! And here I thought you guys were slowing down. 😁 Glad you're not, this is a total dream for any virtual pinball fan. It had to happen, eventually, and I'm so glad that it finally did! It seems as perfect as it can possibly be. 🍻

This is a showcase for the new 10.8 RC! I don't know where to start but I just want to say that the attention to detail/quality is once again stunning VPW. The light inserts in the playfield are an massive visual addition compared to other VPW tables that don't have this imo. Especially in VR this adds a lot of depth to the playfield.

The VR is one of the best too in terms of matching the table and looks(day/night is great too! and those fishes/turtles, wow); but I must say that even with my 4090 it's demanding in my cab (but I use insanely high settings with my Pimax Crystal).

The gameplay is excellent and combined with the Altsound the atmosphere is great too, but I must say about the altsound that the music is a bit to "busy"/overwhelming compared to the other sounds in my opinion(not sure how to lower the volume of the music only in the alt sounds, will look it up). The new settings are usefull too. Thank you to all for this amazing release, now I'm out fishing!

EDIT: How could I forgot to mention: Finally a table after TX-sector(to my knowledge that's the only other table that has it): the green level (water level) on the right side at the ball launcher is working when you nudge the table! This adds a lot to the immersion!

The lighting reflection rendering has done flawlessly, no z-fighting in the last few releases anymore! Thank for attention to these details too.

What a fantastic build. The talent, skill, and dedication really make this one shine.

I have played many virtual versions of Fish Tales beginning with the free version included with Pinball FX3. This build stands by itself at the top of the mountain.

The graphical quality and attention to detail and playability is expected from VPW but my favorite part of this build is the many options that can be tweaked.

Thank you to many talanted folks involved in this masterpiece and thank you for sharing!

You guys, stop! I need to spend some time in real life as well, but you keep dragging me back into the world under glass…my cab is running hot with your quality content, so what can I say? 5 stars as usual. Keep up the good work. What a time to be alive!

Bravo Team VPW! I did not have to make an adjustments to the table , Looks amazing and plays flawless, so smooth!

How do other tables not look as sharp & flashy  and yep  I get FPS hits?

Tables like this push the limits and it runs like melting butter!

Can you guys just start at the top of the table list and just do them all A-Z!?

Thanks again!
