About This File

Hi all !

I'm very excited and pleased to share with you the first release of a serum colorization project !

As you might know, it's a new open source format for DMD colors than will be able to run on Virtual DMD and devices.

I would like to special thank @zedrummer who develop the file format and the tools to use it, @ebor @peskopat @KRAKEN who are the early birds like me working on the format and spending hours debugging and improving the tools with zedrummer !

To use serum files, you can have a look here :

I can't really describe just how good this format looks. This and Tron are just phenomenal. Looking forward to seeing LaserCue too!

@dtatane thank you for supporting the new format!! Great, great work.

Response from the author:

Stay tuned with serum.. more projects are coming, and the more we look at it, the more we find ideas to make DMD colorization even better !

Excellent job.

But Dmddevice.dll from the last dmdextension 2.0 (06/03/2023) doesn´t work with other color rom .pac, .vni, .pal

The dmddevice.dll from color plugin (18/08/2023) works for other color rom but not for this cRZ format.

Maybe the next Dmddevice.dll could be for all formats.

thanks

Looks fantastic!

This new format "Serum" is amazing on a real DMD - colors are rich, clean, no ghosting or bleeding.

This is a game changer for sure. Thank you for everyone involved's hard work!

Wow that looks amazing. First I thought "not another format please" but this is more than worth it. Great job.

Here's a gameplay video with the new mikcab Mod and the colorization by dtatane.

This is awesome work. I am loving this and Tron as well!

The coloring is amazing and really adds to a fun table! I am always amazed by folks who love the hobby this much that they will spend hundreds of hours to make these awesome DMD.'s.

Kudos to everyone who developed and also to lucky to getting us the support for this new format so we have need for only one "driver" for all current formats!

I hope more and more people jump on the color bandwagon.

Fantastic. The developer is pro open source and that is good but you will need to go here if you want to be able to use all formats.

Very impressive work done here.

Loving and amazing coloring done with this new open source techlology for an open world full of hobbies but empty of dark bussines.

I feel this is the way virtual pinball must go.

Thankyou @dtatane @freezy @zedrummer and many all involved in this great project!!!
