  1. Blue Note (Gottlieb 1979) 1.1.1

Blue Note is among the grooviest tables you're going to find. Okay, maybe they missed the Summer of Love by about a decade but this table is all about music and bell-bottoms.

The asymmetric bumpers and the staggered flippers make this table too cool for school. Targets for Do, Re Mi, etc. line the left wall. It’s when you hit them all that the points on the table really start to skyrocket.

Keeping with the asymmetry, a pair of spinners hang out just to the right of center playfield — a blast to rocket through. One of the two has a kind of clever visual trick with a musical staff depicted on one side, musical notes on the other — spin it up for the magic.

This was a table brought to the VPX community by the late @loserman76. A handful of us fans worked on 1.1 to punch up the sound, redo the playfield and plastics, add shadows, a new apron, new kick-out hole, lights, colors... Can you dig it?

If using Desktop scoring please do not have the Apply Day/Night Cycle box checked.
If day/night cycle is desired please use a b2s and use the included b2s backdrop.
This is selectable in Edit mode, Toggle Backglass view in the DT Image dropdown.

    Thanks to @GordonJames for playtesting.

Be sure to grab @hauntfreaks new backglass file for this table.

  2. Beavis and Butt-head: Pinballed (Original 2024)

Butt-head: "It's about time, dumbass! What took you so damn long!? hh-huh-huh.".. Beavis: "Yeah, loser! heh-heh-heh."
Me: "Yeah, I know, I know. Sorry guys, too much procrastination."
Butt-head: "hh-huh-huh, he said 'ass'!".. Beavis: "Yeah, heh-heh-heh."

Well, after 2½ years in the making and to celebrate three decades of these two snickering metalhead idiots
who will never grow up or score, I am truly proud to finally present..

    Beavis and Butt-head in.. "Pinballed."

Thirty years ago, a cartoon show with this crazy duo aired on MTV that was so divisive that politicians were calling for it to be
removed from the air. It was crass, it was filthy, but most of all, it was downright hilarious. Beavis and Butt-Head hocked a loogie
into the pool of early 1990s pop culture and they've been doing it ever since with episode after episode and a few movies thrown in.

As an homage to Mike Judge, Beavis and Butt-head, and to all of the older school pinball diehards out there, I created this table
as it might have looked, and should have been released, back in 1993. Nothing fancy, no videos, etc. Just good ol' fun retro pinball!

I want to thank Mr. J.P. Salas for his help(and patience) with the animation scripting and give a big shout out to the original
1991 table's script writers. That table script allowed me to start with a blank canvas to design and build my complete re-theme.
I'd also like to thank the Visual Pinball and Vpinmame development teams! Without you, none of this would be possible!

I hope that everyone who downloads this table has as much fun playing it as I did creating it.

    Cheers!

    IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
What you'll need to do to make this table run correctly:
    1. You MUST have Vpinmame 3.6 beta or later installed to run this table (it will not run correctly without it).
Here is the link for the latest Vpinmame version zip file located atop the first page of toxie's post:
        https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=27063&page=1
Make sure you install the correct version of Vpinmame (32 or 64bit).
    2. Please place the included altsound folder "beav_butt" in to your altsounds folder in Vpinmame.
    3. Please place the included "beav_butt.nv" file in to your nvram folder in Vpinmame.
    4. Please place the included "beav_butt.vbs" file in to your scripts folder in VPX.
    5. Please place the included rom "beav_butt" zip file in to the roms folder in Vpinmame. Do not unzip the file.
This same rom is also available as a stand-alone file on this site and elsewhere on different sites.
    6. Look for the directb2s (2 screen(4:3 ratio), 3 screen & 3 screen w/full DMD) files on this site
and on other sites as well. Wheel logo for frontends also available.
Note: These same instructions are included in the file

    That's it. Enjoy!

  3. Baseball (Gottlieb 1970) 1.2.1

If you’re playing this table and not yelling: “Runner on third!” or “Home run!” then you’re doing it wrong.

Baseball plus pinball is a match made in heaven — and Baseball (Gottlieb 1970) demonstrates that perfectly.

Think of each ball as an inning. Targets and rollovers on the playfield score your team singles, doubles, triples — and when they do, the bases on a baseball diamond light up to indicate runners on those bases. It is incredibly rewarding to see all the bases lit up, bases loaded, and then make a perfect vari-target drive into left field to score that home run.

Unique to this game is a separate tally of runs in addition to the usual method of pinball scoring. Bring a runner home and a run is scored — try for that bases-loaded home run to increase your runs by four. A separate high score counter keeps track of the most runs made in a game.

If only Gottlieb had made this a two-player game you could have competed on runs with a friend...

(BTW, IPDB says the star-style rollover buttons on this table, they're the bases, were first introduced to the world in this game.)

    Version 1.2.1:
Recessed apron Playfield shadows Some texture and sound improvements
Loserman76, RIP, brought us this table to VPX and he is to be thanked foremost for this and over 200 other EM (electro-mechanical) tables. EMUnderdogs have added a recessed apron, playfield shadows and more enhancements to try and make the table more authentic to the original.

  4. Bounty Hunter (Gottlieb 1985)

Bounty Hunter is a great throwback to an earlier solid state era. It features fun gameplay and a killer art package that remains unique in all of pinball.

This project was passed on to me by armyaviation, who worked with siggi to do his incredible work on the playfield. Other big players include leandre for the plastic scans and 32assassin for script help. Behind the scenes I received a lot of great help from kingdids, benji, flupper, and tomate as I tried to get Octane for Blender up and running. Also thanks to the usual team of beta testers for the feedback and friendship. As usual thanks to rothbauerw, fleep, nfozzy for the additional framework that adds a little something special to these projects.

  5. Back to the Future: The Pinball (Data East 1990)

"Wait a Minute, Doc. Are You Telling Me You Built a Time Machine... Out of a DeLorean?"

This Visual Pinball title has quite a legacy and it looks like it started with a JPSalas table. (this community is indebted to him in so many ways)

It was massively improved around early 2018 in a new table version which resides at version 1.4 at vpForums by the following authors: Cyberpez, rothbauerw, wrd1972, HauntFreaks, ClarkKent, dark, RustyCardores and possibly others.

Enter July 2023 and versins77 added a minimal version of nFozzy physics, Fleep sound and a few other small visual / lighting changes.  However, the game play got even better with those simple tweaks and it plays very smooth and true.

The only missing component in all of this was a great VR experience and I was working personally with versins77 so that he could send updates to his latest files.

Alas, versins77 kind of disappeared from the VPin scene about 6 months ago leaving me with a fully functional VR hybrid Back to the Future.

I received permission from Cyberpez to upload a finalized version of the title to kind of complete the package as the game simply plays phenomenal as it is mostly due to Cyberpez's original vision.

So, I searched for the ultimate VR Room for Back to the Future and found only one 3D model that truly would fit.  DaRDog81 put it into action in Blender and it is right on theme down to the Clock Tower, Hill Valley, Delorean and all.

The VR Backglass was also animated by TastyWasps with the help of leojreimroc and hauntfreaks.  The desktop background was also improved with digital digits, an upscale and more contrast.

The one add-on that is truly a must for this title is the awesome altsound by Apophis with help from iDigStuff.  It truly brings this title up to 88 mph with 1.21 gigawatts!

Download the altsound here and turn your speakers up to 11:

  8. Baseball (Gottlieb 1970) 1.2

Baseball plus pinball is a match made in heaven — and Baseball (Gottlieb 1970) demonstrates that perfectly.

Think of each ball as an inning (too bad there are only 5 in this game — apparently a version from Gottlieb called Batters Up allowed for additional balls to be won). Targets and rollovers on the playfield score your team singles, doubles, triples — and when they do, the bases on a baseball diamond light up to indicate runners on those bases. It is incredibly rewarding to see all the bases lit up, bases loaded, and then make a perfect vari-target drive in to left field to score a homerun. (BTW, IPDB says the star-style rollover buttons on this table, they're the bases, were first introduced in this game.)

Unique to this game is a separate tally of runs in addition to the usual method of pinball scoring. Bring a runner home and a run is scored — try for that bases-loaded homerun to increase your runs by four. A separate high score counter keeps track of the most runs made in a game.

Loserman76, RIP, brought us all this table and he is to be thanked foremost for this and over 200 other EM (electro-mechanical) tables. Others in the community have contributed including Teisen, Cliffy.... In this version I have added Fleep sounds and richer sound code. It is especially nice on SSF (surround sound feedback) setups but benefits desktop players as well. Cliffy made changes to materials, lighting, removing errant reflections, etc.

  9. Buckaroo (Gottlieb 1965)_Teisen_MOD

First I would like to thank Loserman76 for the beautiful work... wherever he is playing pinball!

small changes were made only aesthetically

small improvements in the playfield, plastics, lighting, flippers position...  I want to make it clear that the descriptions for the tables I'm sharing are "standard" for all, changes are made when there is a need for some adjustment.

version used, follow the link to the original table

For this table I received a lot of help and collaboration from Wildman who made changes to the script so that B2s worked correctly! Thank you very much for your excellent work and for sharing.
    Wildman's B2s for this table

    Adjustments made:

    - Playfield color correction and touch-ups
    - cap bumpers corretion
    - added primitive to the base of the bumpers and lighting
    - lighting
    - metals
    - screws
    - new pov
    - new top tabs
    - other small touches

    Loserman Description:

    thanks to GNance, Arngrim
others to thank: JPSalas, Pinuck, hauntfreaks, Borgdog
in addition to the "standard" keys (typically "1" to start game and "5" for coin), I've added "3" as another coin input and "4" for coin and auto-start game (like I recall the dime slots generally were) to simulate 3 coin slots

For the manual ball lift you can use either the start game button (typically "1") OR you can use the letter "A".
when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. left flipper selects item, right flipper changes option.
I've also included shadows for the ball and flippers. If you want to turn them off look for these lines at the beginning of the script:
    Const ShadowFlippersOn = true
    Const ShadowBallOn = true
change to false if you want either of the shadows not showing on your tables

  15. Banzai Run (Williams 1988)

Welcome Race Fans to Banzai Run!

Since Visual Pinball was created, Banzai Run has been difficult to re-create due to the fact that is has one of the most unique designs in mechanical pinball with an upper playfield mechanism that replaces the backglass.

There have been some great solutions but none that serve all 3 platforms for cabinet, desktop and VR.

However, JPSalas (with the help of Aubrel) released a very innovative idea to have a "sliding" playfield to make up for some limitations of Visual Pinball point of view scripting.

JP's modified table was used to build a prototype that had a normal backbox and backglass with the sliding playfield for VR thus having a level playing field for all 3 platforms in competitions, etc.

However, it did look quite odd in VR so RothbauerW took on the task of integrating a hybrid model that took some cues from the awesome VR Room that Sixtoe had previously built for Banzai Run.

After some heavy integration work, physics modeling, upscaling, tweaks, play balancing and a lot of testing, this version of Banzai Run will hopefully represent the best solution at this time given the Visual Pinball architecture.

    Here are the commendations:

Based on JPSalas' v4.0 table.  Thank you JPSalas!  This included a playfield from EBIsLit and other coding from Aubrel.

this was a Loserman table from many many years ago, I've been updating this table every couple years as techniques change, and this is the latest greatest version to date
this reason this table is special to me is that I owned the machine when i was a kid, jammed into my little bedroom, remember tinkering with it, playing with no glass just because i could ..... just great memories

    this version includes
    cleaned up graphic
    new lighting
    shadows throughout
    nfozzy physics - fluffhead35
    fleep sounds - fluffhead35

    BackGlass

    DMD video / Topper

  21. Bad Cats (Williams 1989) VPW Mod

    "One More Time…"

This was one of VPWs first projects a few years ago after Brad1X had done a complete vector re-draw of it. At the time we released it with a lot of added dirt and scratches, but we always wanted a version a bit more cleaned up. In addition to new toolkit lighting, it has had a physics overhaul, and a very detailed Fleep sound pass with the sound package used in Bride of Pinbot (a table from the similar era).

This update was driven primarily by Benji who did a great job updating the project with blender toolkit. Thanks to Apophis for his various scripting help and tutorials getting movables to work, Rothbauerw for various helps, Tomate for modeling new plastic ramps, Mcarter for all the script-side updates (especially Fleep sound package), Iaakki and MrGrynch for scripting support.

Special Notes: VPX 10.8 Beta 7 (or higher) required for this table. This table also takes advantage of a new options page feature in 10.8, accessed via F12 key. The 3rd page in this menu has table specific options including some sweet mirrored side blades. These are disabled by default because they come at a decent performance cost, especially if you are playing in anaglyph or VR. The ‘Day/Night’ setting here is also where you will adjust the table brightness (not to be confused with the same functionality of old Day/Night slider).

This project is dedicated to Brad1X who has done a few amazing re-draws for us and this is his favorite pinball table!

  23. Big Game (Stern 1980) - redbone(MOD)

Today is my first MOD release with permission granted by jpsalas.  I'm very new to this scene and the intention of my modifications to this table is mainly to upgrade the most visible graphics making a 4k+ experience more enjoyable.  I concentrate heavily on the playfield and plastics first. Some of the plastics were merged, tweaked, and extended to better match the playfield without steering far from the originals.  Bumpers and little things like the details in spinners second.  Then I checked out a broad view of lighting and a few where I think it was lacking under the plastics.  Lastly I did a little flair lighting with the claws on the tiger and face of the tiger between the flippers.  Below is a full list of mods that I can recall.

I'd like to thank JP for being so open and sharing of his table and bigus1 for guidance.   It is my hope one day that he will include my playfield and plastics into his mainline release for this classic table -  BIG GAME (Stern 1980).

    Big Game by Stern 1980

    v1.0.1
-more plastics worked on - more to come...
-took light off tigers face between flippers and did something more subtle with the eyes - may try to make some of this configurable in the future via script

    v1.0.0
20230214 dated version MOD from jpsalas' v4.0.0 and elements from his previous 1.x versions.

    -playfield upscaled > 4k from VP9 version 1.x from JP's initial releases
-added real wood picture to the playfield and plunger area
-playfield tweaked and reworked including much of the texts
    -plastics upscaled and heavily reworked
-joined some plastics and expanded to match table
-added nylon plastics missing from plastics
-added lights to some places that were missing or needed more lights
    -added lights to aGiLights collection
-changed color to some lighting under plastics to prevent washing out colors
-added lighting to some playfield elements such as low light to the  tiger's face between flippers
-added blinking lights to claws on tiger
    -recreated spinner graphics
    -reworked bumper caps

*I reported a "blurp" sound that can be heard every 4 seconds or so - https://github.com/vpinball/pinmame/issues/98  The thread was closed because apparently this is by design and can be fixed with some dip switches.  Please read that link.

***Fix for "blurp" is to press F6 in game and change dip switch for "Background Sound" to ON***

All other functions included in JP's 4.0.0 version should still be intact.

    log:
    4.0.0 Updated 7.9.2022
    - Updated to my VPX7 physics
    - cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
    - Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
    - Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
    - Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
    - Made the light inserts warmer.
    - New playfield in 4k (ish :))
    - Added SSF sound commands.
    1.0.4 updated 28.06.2017
