Big Trouble in Little China Pinball throws players into a fast-paced battle beneath the neon lights of Chinatown, where every shot pushes the story deeper into the chaos. Step into the boots of reckless trucker Jack Burton and rip through combos, ramps, and orbit shots as you chase the trail of the kidnapped green-eyed beauty. The ancient sorcerer Lo Pan lurks below the streets, waiting for the ritual that will break his curse. Stack modes, ignite multiballs, and hammer precision shots as the action escalates from alleyway showdowns to supernatural warfare. Only the boldest flippers will conquer the storms, defeat Lo Pan, and prove that fortune favors the fearless.

The quirkiness of Jack Burton and his Big Trouble in Little China was a big part of my youth.Too young to watch it at the movies but rented several times on VHS. It was, and still is a wild, fun and crazy world indeed.

Now about this pinball table…This is a MASSIVE release!  MerlinRTP and his Wizard friends have basically put everything great from this film and put it into this virtual machine.  This is a pretty fast table with AMAZING flow. The skill level I think  is perfectly balanced. It certainly is not easy, but not to hard that you give up.. The lanes and ramps are just incredible. The three storms spinner is really cool with lightning effects and all, and those MULTIPLE multiball scenarios are  frenetic, colorful and jawdropping! So many SECRETS to discover too. All of sudden the playfield opens and out of nowhere you are stuck in a mini sewers playfield!!

The groove of the John Carpenter soundtrack is SUPERBLY implemented, accompanied by fitting sound effects and an overall great sound design. And then we have the cherry on the pie, that awesome pup dmd! Cool and funny clips and call outs from the movie, in combination with interactive mini games and comic book style imagery..So well done!   The creators are really digging into the new release of pinup player too, and utilizing it to the max. Tilting a game, has never been more shakingly FUN!

This table basically represents EVERYTHING I love abut virtual pinball. Fantastic lighting, interactive graphics with loads of animations and VFX,  a pup dmd with all the bells and whistles, and everything done with so much heart and love for the goofy world of Jack Burton and the green eyed girls  in Little China.

This  game speaks directly to the 13 year old me. Nostalgia  factor is put to the MAX . I can’t thank you enough for sharing this, @merlinrtp and the rest of you @Vpxpinballwizards

..  HUGE thanks for letting me have a go at it prior to the official release. Everyone will have a BLAST!!  Thank you thank you thank you…!!

Was watching some of Paladin's stream of "one more game" of this beauty, and had to give this a go myself!

Really fun table! Lots of creativity and modes. Neat lighting and effects. Really nice PUPDMD. Lots of thought put into things fans of the movie would catch on to.

We need more original tables like this! Job well done guys!

Amazing table with a nice puppack 5 stars for me.

Edit: the windows alignement and font bug has been fixed with a new VPX BGFX release:

VPinballX_BGFX-10.8.1-5075-ea80613-windows-x64-Release.

Response from the author:

That line is actual for NON-windows machines like iPads and Linux.. I was missing this line from enar the top of the script that shoudl address your concern, assuming you are not in the United States.

The VPXPinballWizards created a really awesome and fun playing table. It has amazing visual effects, and despite all that, it still runs great on my average computer. Well done VPXPinballWizards! A great edition to our hobby.

Another incredible release by @Vpxpinballwizards. Truly wizards of the craft for originals.

Visuals are great and sound design is incredible. Each shot, spin, and even the scoring sounds. Well crafted callouts that don't overwhelm but really add to the game.

Really great layout with satisfying shots and interesting ball paths.

The cherry on top? A solidly executed PupDMD giving this a modern feel, without being too distracting.

Just go get it, right now.

Another Triple A title from this crew.  Absolutely stunning table with tons of details and great game modes.

Runs out of the box on standalone!

This is seriously one of the coolest VPX tables I have ever played. The PupDMD is top notch in presentation. The artwork is stunning. The shot selection is fun and rewarding and the modes are very fun to play. The creators involved always put out great stuff, but they outdid themselves this time!

Pinrabbit

t's a really nice pinball machine, but the balls bounce around a lot during Multiball

Straight to the point, BTILC is in my top 5 VPX games.

The theme is amazing and i love the design of the table. All in the game is very well crafted and a blast to play. Ramps / combos / games mode are def top tier with very enjoyable physics.
I had big trouble in pinup 2.0 (yes i know it's not funny), but once is setup, it's the kind of game you can't stop playing. The Pup is very nice it worth the upgrade.
I play the game in VR (i get VR recently) and guys this is a masterwork.

Thank you very much for your hard work ! Can't wait to get into the wizard modes ! (just a little 100 millions so far)

Cheers Julo.

This table shot to the top of my list.  What makes this masterpiece stand out is the satisfaction after hitting certain shots i.e. knocking down all the targets in the sewer, 10 shots in a row for Gracie's Gauntlet, and especially the quest start shot.  These and and the missions have just enough difficulty to get you frustrated when you miss, but then also bring that feeling of accomplishment when you hit them.   This is the kind of feeling that will keep me coming back for more, even after I've defeated Lo-Pan!  As a tennis player, it's like when I hit a backhand down-the-line.  The feeling as it comes off the strings and lands deep in the corner.  I know I won't always hit that shot but when I do, man what a rush.

In terms of technical detail, the rumble of the table during Thunder Wizard mode, the glow and lightning around the balls in Lightning Wizard, the design of the DMD, the ambience of the VR Room, just a complete package.

When Super Metroid came out for the SNES, I knew that something was different.  It wasn't a game I was playing, it was a game I was experiencing.  Games like that don't come around very often.  They can't.  This is 'that' table for me.

BTW, I keep waiting to hear "Kiiiinnnggg Comboooo!"

I don't really know where to begin. This table is just fantastic and well-polished. It plays great and looks so good on the cabinet. The pup dmd is amazing and the 2.0 integration works really well. Seeing the fireworks when entering initials is awesome. The mini game is fun and sunken playfield is ingenious. I'm loving the F12 options as well. The subject matter: I am a huge 80's movie nerd (my favorite era for movies) and Big Trouble leads the list of just fun movies that came out of this era. I love how this theme takes advantage of that. From the same team that gave us The Last Dragon which was brilliant in itself. I would love to see more themes from this era: The Golden Child, The Keep, Beverly Hills Cop. I feel selfish stating that but is there any higher compliment than to say "Please, more!". Well done guys.

Our family has been playing this so much since release and just wanted to say THANK YOU for such an amazing experience.  We have a few favorites, and this just might take top spot over time.  Incredible.  Great art, flow, sound, combos, callouts, feel, never tedious even with relatively long ball times.

Thanks again for this phenomenal addition to our cabinet!

Oh my!!

Once again, the bar is raised in the Virtual Pinball community!!

It's releases like this that drive this hobby to new heights, and I cannot stress enough how lucky we all are that these wonderful designers/creators are so inspired and selfless at the same time.

Art, music, theme, play, design, physics, sounds... every one of these is just... >MUAH!< Chef's Kiss !!!

Anybody that grew up in the 80s likely has a deep rooted love for this awesome, campy, Kung-Fu epic - and this table captures it perfectly.

Review, Tutorial and Playthrough here where I share my thoughts further:

CrackJohnson

Absolutely stunning!! The Pupdmd is perfect. I usually don't see a lot of original tables in my top 10 most played, this has already made it on the list. Feels like a real table, you guys have really outdone yourselves 🙌 Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Precise

Peace,

Top Ten Original Table of all time....... easy.  An animated B2s would add to the eye candy but the game play, table and pup pack are all set.  Excellent job team.

HoganZeros

i can't post much more than that's been said about BTILC but I wanted to write this review to show some gratitude. It's my new favorite table. I set my cabinet to go straight to it. i leave it on in attract mode while i'm in the game room but not playing. Thanks for all the hard work.

i have a slim dmd and after comparing both ways for me to play, I actually prefer the full dmd version even though i have to view it stretched. The backglass is just too cool to miss and it's easier to glance up to the dmd for info instead of the backglass. The option is awesome to have and it's appreciated.

i only wish it was easier to read all the info on it lol.  I'm crossing my fingers that the overlay can be made for slim dmd's. The background videos surprisingly look fine stretched so only the overlay would need tweaking.

Response from the author:

Hogan,

There is far too much info to fit into that little slimDMD area.. I think its an opportunity to upgrade your backbox for all these Stern like tables that are coming out... 🙂

We spent soo  much time creating the pupDMD experience its a shame it's challenging for you to see it when playing.
