  1. Super-Flite (Williams 1974) 1.1.1

Super-Flite from 1974 imagines the romance of delta-wing passenger jets — no doubt shuttling passengers of the future between New York and London in under three hours. Super-sonic travel had captured the imagination of the public at the time (and in fact Concorde began service just two years later).

Super-Flite’s game play is target rich — targets across the top of the playfield, targets flanking both the left and right sides as well. Trying to hit those targets with a direct flipper shot will prove a challenge with those pesky bumpers in the way. Instead try to catch them with ricochets off the bumpers (and a little nudging might help).

A kick-out hole sits just as you leave the arch. Bumpers and other playfield triggers will cycle the kick-out hole bonus. 500 points? 5000 points? Two of the possible bonuses will open up gates that allow your ball back into the shooter lane for what amounts to an extra ball (and a 5000 point signing bonus when lit).

Super-Flite is Williams' two-player version of the more widely known, Strato-Flite pinball table.

Playfield, plastics, apron… this table has all new artwork (based on the original art of Christian Marche — a legend from the golden age of pinball). The upper playfield was completely redone to match the actual table layout. Additionally, a host of other fixes went in to make @loserman76's original VPX table closer to the real thing (examples: reflected playfield in the metals and correct red flippers with yellow rubber).

  3. Strikes N' Spares (Gottlieb 1995) Lebowski Mod

This is a Lebowski themed mod of mfuegemann, zany, and Warbler33's Gottlieb Strikes N' Spares, a completely different game from the excellent Lebowski mod of Bally's Strikes AND Spares already on this site.
Works best on vpx10.7 - I am getting strange artifacts in 10.8

Most of the modification is audio with close to 100 sound bites cheering and jeering your rolls in this bowling simulator. I didn't have much visual stuff to play with so I added a third DMD (it already has two) for fun, and turned the steel balls into swirly bowling balls. The music folder is named the same as the original idigstuff SandS lebowski mod, I only changed a couple tracks. You will need to drop the nvram and cfg files into the correct pinmame folders. The cfg file lowers the volume of the background and cheering tracks from the rom, as I supplied alternates. Big thanks to the original authors mfuegemann and
zany, and Warbler33 for the vpx conversion.

If any advanced builders see this, I am desperate for advice on how to handle a memory leak. I am sure it is because there are constantly multiple balls on the table, so this is technically an extended multiball game, even though most of the balls are at rest and essentially captive balls.  It cripples the game on my underpowered system after about 3 single player games, and I have to restart.  This was always an issue with the original vpx conversion, the vp9 one plays just fine.

  5. Spectrum (Bally 1981) VPW

    "Get A Clue!"
VPW are proud to present Spectrum by Bally.
Sixtoe was looking for a relatively simple but good looking table to scratch build start to finish himself, mainly to teach himself Blender and the VPX toolkit and this seemed to tick all the boxes. But before that the playfield and plastics needed to be redrawn, with Sixtoe doing the playfield and cyberpez doing an amazing job of the plastics.
    Spectrum is a very rare game in the wild (500 made with over half unsold / scrapped), it was unsuccessful mainly because when it was released no-one understood the rules as they're very different from normal, so I very much suggest reading the rules or watching the rules video linked at the bottom, but quick overview;
It's literally a pinball version of the Mastermind board game.
You have to guess 4 colours in a row, hit all 3 drop targets to guess that colour.
If you guessed right the colour will flash, if you guess it wrong it will be solid.
If you hit a lit saucer or the center top saucer they will give you a clue.
If you guess all 4 in the correctly it will increase your superstar status.

  6. Spider-Man Vault Edition : Siggi's Mod (Stern 2016) VPW Mod

This is a mod of a mod based on Siggis’ excellent Spider-Man Classic graphics mod of the Spider-Man Vault Edition table (Stern 2016) made for Vpx originally by Alessio. Many thanks to everyone whose hands have touched and improved this table in the past.

  7. Safe Cracker (Bally 1996)

Bally's Safe Cracker combines pinball and board games!  The goal is to advance to the board game for a chance to break into the safe while avoiding obstacles along the way. Players spin and stop the safe dial to determine how many spaces to advance. The player can collect winnings and resume playing pinball after each dial spin, or spin again and risk losing it all. Players must risk it all for a chance to break into the bank vault and win the token award.

The original 1.0 version was done by fuzzel, flupper1, rothbauerw; with the VR room originally being done by  b4ast1.  Apophis requested that I update the table with an updated playfield scan from EBisLit, and include all the new VPW code, 3D inserts, hybrid mode, physics, drop, standup, and vari-targets, bumpers, flashers, playfield mesh, fleep sounds, etc.  Redbone further cleaned the playfield up, as well as some other images.  I was able to bake the GI lights using blender light maps to make it look as real as possible (thanks for teaching me, apophis!), as well as implementing a pwm approach to the fading.  I've also included other VR rooms, a topper, a flasher/siren, and F12 options.  I reused the ramps and other prims from fuzzel's table, as well several pieces of code from rothbauerw.

Other options in the script include a constant called, "useownb2s".  If you set this to 1, you will turn off the desktop built in backglass.  This is for desktop users that want to use a b2s backglass, not the built in one.

MAGIC TOKENs... if you win the board game, the table will issue you a magic token (you'll see the coin roll down).  How the ROM works... is the next game played will force you to use the magic token/s that you've won, and you play a 4 ball multiball for 90 seconds.  Awesome!  But you need to earn the tokens...

    REQUIREMENTS:
ROMs:  You will need two ROMs:  A percentaging version is for the number of tokens issued is limited based on the game's earnings, and in a home environment you want to be able to obtain tokens.   They are located here:

  9. Slick Chick (Gottlieb 1963) 1.3.1

Why is Slick Chick one of the Top 10 EM (electro-mechanical) games voted by players on IPDB (Internet Pinball Database)?

Is it the artwork featuring a barbershop quartet, showgirls wearing bunny ears and an apparently sauced Uncle Wiggily? Maybe.

Or maybe it is due to how challenging the game is. A gobble hole in the playfield center seems to be particularly nasty if you launch multiple balls onto the playfield. Watching fans who enjoy Slick Chick though, they talk about the two skill shots you need to dial in in order to roll over either the CHICK or the SLICK at the top of the playfield. Others say this is the ultimate nudge game and will reward your ability to finesse the ball. Young people seem to enjoy the simplicity of it.

Make sure you grab the beautiful backglass file from @hauntfreaks. It turns the table into pure art.

From @Cliffy Slick Chick-res-files are for desktop users in HD, 2K, 4K and UW (ultrawide) configurations.

The .res files in the zip are intended for desktop users of this version of Slick Chick and are named as such. However, they can certainly be used for  any other table running in desktop mode and uses a directb2s (b2s) with or without a fulldmd as long as the filename matches the tables filename.

They are configured to place the backglass on the right and the fulldmd to the left and are sized for a single player EM. Again they are good as templates for other sizes and locations as well. The # comment lines in the file explain what each line does.

Unzip the .res file that best matches your single monitor (desktop mode) to the same folder as the table. The b2s file also needs to reside in the same folder.
Delete the first 3 characters of the filename, ie, if the file you need is HD-Slick Chick (Gottlieb 1963) 1.3.res then delete the HD- so it reads Slick Chick (Gottlieb 1963) 1.3.res.
Remember, the .res filename needs to match the VPX table name exactly. The b2s filename also must match exactly so rename as needed.

It is assumed you already have a 2.0 or newer version of B2S Server installed.
    https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/12024-b2s-backglass-server/

If you want to use a b2s with a table that has built in desktop scoring I've made a tutorial showing how to do this here https://vpuniverse.com/tutorials/article/32-desktop-backdrops-adding-or-changing-the-basics/

Thanks to @JCalhoun and @hauntfreaks for help and encouragement. Super thanks to @jarr3 for modernizing and adding such great features to the B2S Server.

I'm always open to suggestions that will improve location and sizing, especially since I do not have a 4k or ultrawide monitor to test.

    Enjoy!

The late @loserman76 created this table, and over 200 others. The VPX community continues to polish and tweak the games he left us. Here is his original table:

    https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/8252-slick-chick-gottlieb-1963/

New in 1.3 (details listed in table Script):
playfield, cap bumpers, peg color adjustments illuminated bumper base, lighting of lost balls metals, lighting, playfield lights, rubber, wooden rails adjustments, fixes addition/adjustment of screws other playfield adjustments removed high score Post It removed extraneous reflections shooter lane alignments playfield shadows

    IN 7.4 32 BIT OR 74 64BIT
    I RECOMMEND 72.2 EITHER 32 OR 64
BUT FILE WORKS GREAT 10.8 BETA 64 AND 32 WITHOUT worry

basically a re mod of looserman76 table high hand
it was couvide years and i was locked in room
i came up withe the theme of Australian deadly wildlife
    causing a small scare
loosermans76 table high hand was the perfect choice
    i asked permission
couvid came and went and i just got back to it
yes i got couvid and was stuck in my little room
not sure of what rom it was so i supplied all 3
vpx b2s files in here go into table folder
vpmalias txt i used so i could play both high hand and safeaus table on one setup
    pup packs here
the pup config screen needs to be set to other2.
and in the top right hand corner set to show usually this is disables.
if pups dont play still  gointo your pupeditor and in the top left hand spot choose the "safeaus "
    folder ..
make sure screen 8 is set to show ..
    this worked for him
ive tested it in 10.8 beta 64 and it works on mine
other than that either try 32bit 10.8 or 7.4...
basically this is what should happen ..
you load table and the b2s dragonfly will show with scores
then the playfield will load then there should
be a water fall in northern australia playing in loop...
choose credits then launch... plunger works on my setup
    then .
try to hit any of the targets
    as the targets are hit
a spider or shark will play INSTEAD of the waterfall
    on 3rd screen
then waterfall will resume until next target is hit
i just find it fun to play
    looserman76 table was legendary
    and this mod
    makes me laugh

  14. Space Mission (Williams 1976) 1.1

Space Mission came out in the year of the U.S Bicentennial. I remember that year and can tell you that the air was heavy with patriotism and this pinball machine, featuring the U.S. Apollo spacecraft, hews closely to the zeitgeist of 1976. (Although it also features the USSR's Soyuz spacecraft - depicting an event, the Apollo-Soyuz rendezvous, that had occurred the year before in 1975).

Unusual features of this four-player, EM (electro-mechanical) table include a swinging target in the center of the playfield and the two ball kickers on either side of the flippers (watch people play the real table - they let the ball roll off the flipper into these kickers for extra points). Also, a spinner in the upper-left is fun to rocket through, and see if you can orbit the Super Bonus Advance in the upper-right.

The Space Mission table is (at the time of this writing) #4 in the top-10 for electro-mechanical pinball. The two-player version of this table is called Space Odyssey.

This is a community, EM table, originally created by the late Loserman76. We are indebted to him for, by my count, over 200 VPX tables.

My changes to Loserman76's table, this version 1.1, add Fleep sounds and new sound code. The table now plays much better on cabinets with SSF (surround-sound feedback).

  15. Sheriff (Gottlieb 1971) 1.2

It's a fascinating thing that the work you create, if shared, can outlive you. So it is for Jeff "Loserman76" Whitehead. We all have him to thank for his prolific work in creating EM games for VPX.

And so his title, Sheriff is seeing a lot of work by the community: Teisen modded, then GauGau... I have tweaked the sound code to incorporate Fleep's sounds and sound code. This improves the SSF (surround sound feedback) for flippers, etc.

As per GauGau's work, you can create a music folder called "Sheriff" with custom music, or see his Western-themed PUP pack.

  16. Super Orbit (Gottlieb 1983)

Gottlieb's Super Orbit! Lots of fun to play, with a varitarget, orbits, and lots of bonus opportunities.  Redbone spent considerable time to get the playfield and plastic images just right, as resources for this table were very limited.  As usual lots of hours were put in on this one, and lots of tweaking on the varitarget and physics to emulate a real machine.

I implemented the latest VPW standards, physics, GI and shadow baking, Lampz and 3D inserts, dynamic shadows, updated backglass for desktop, roth standup and varitarget targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, optional DIP adjustments, updated flipper physics, VR and fully hybrid modes, Flupper style bumpers and lighting, gBOT system and trough. Redbone provided the playfield and updated the plastics and apron, and other images.  Hauntfreaks provided the higher resolution VR backglass and Silversurfer updated the cab artwork. I also added options for balls, ball brightness, LUTs, Dip settings, siderails, and plenty of other VR stuff.  DarthVito provided a few additional wallpaper VR Room walls.

You can find the ROM at pinballnirvana.com... sorbit.zip.

Also, I've included the nvram file to initially set the Dips, as the ROM creates settings that should be adjusted.  You can either grab the nvram file and put it in your nvram directory, or follow this process to do an initial setup for yourself.  (When you open the table, hit F6 (that'll load the default DIPS and display them). You can then select various ROM options, and I recommend these shown below.  Once entered, you can exit out, and in the script, you can set the SetDIPSwitches to zero. That will set the ROM settings and turn off the option.  If you later want to change that, you can turn it back on and change the dips.)
    - 3 ball
    - Playfield special of "extra ball"
    - Game mode of "replay"
    - Novelty of "normal"
    - Check the Match, Credits

Thanks again to Redbone for the playfield and plastic images, Rothbauerw for the varitarget code, Hauntfreaks for the updated VR Backglass, DarthVito for additional VR walls, and Silversurfer for the cab art images! Also thanks to everyone else from the VPW team that provided feedback!

  17. Star Gazer (Stern 1980) by arborelia

This is my first VPX modification. I based this on the version by @Felsir, with permission.

Star Gazer is one of my favorite pinball machines. I got to play it recently at Rochester Pinball Collective, and I watched the high-level competition on it on the stream of INDISC 2024. I wanted to make this VPX table play like what I'd played and seen. But none of this would be possible without having Felsir's version to start from.

This table is often about flow and on-the-fly shots, because the unusually low flipper angle stops you from trapping the ball very often. Time your shot to the upper drops - the first one you hit in the bank determines whether clearing the drops or ripping the top spinner is worth big points.

    My changes (v2.0):

    - Reworked the physics - more friction, slightly weaker flippers, stronger pops, weaker plunger, more flipper elastic.
    - Fixed flipper angles and the position of the left flipper. They really do look like that -- these flippers at rest point downward more than other tables.
    - Made physics sounds audible over the very loud beeps from the ROM. You're presumably running the table at a low volume overall.
    - Increased the strength of digital nudging, but made the tilt more sensitive.
    - Corrected some playfield text.

I'm happy to see further mods as long as they make things better.

    Thanks to espie for playtesting.

About 4 months ago, I reached out to @xenonph for permission to mod his phenomenal Hankin's Empire Strikes Back table mod. After discussing our love of Star Wars, we decided to pursue a full version of Star Wars Episode 1 (Williams 1999), using ESB as the base. For those familiar with Episode 1, it was the second Pinball 2000 table, the first being Revenge from Mars. Pinball 2000 roms are not available and, to make matters more complicated, the table uses a mirrored playfield and graphics to create a hologram of sorts. While the hologram effect is very cool, we decided not to tackle it with this release, although it may be possible through a Pup Pack, or some playfield effects like we've seen with Wacky Races, Pokemon, etc.

However, instead of the holograms, @xenonph did something amazing...again. If you've watched videos of the original table, you'll hear music from the original trilogy. And sound effects like TIE Fighters. Well, that's not the case with our table-Duel of Fates? You bet. Call outs and sound effects from the Phantom Menace? Totally.

On behalf of my partner in creativity @xenonph, we hope you enjoy our tribute to Episode 1 pinball.

  20. Sheriff (Gottlieb 1971) soundmod 4K

Based on the table "Sheriff (Gottlieb 1971)_Teisen_MOD" I've come up with an upscaled version, as the existing releases look very pixelated on my 4K cab.
The original table was released by late Jeff "Loserman76" Whitehead. There were contributions my GNance and Popotte in it as well; not sure about the details. According to Teisen's release the permission to modify is given without need for approval, so there you go.

In my release, playfield, apron, plastics and several smaller files were upscaled and anti-aliased.

I've prepared the file for the use with a yet-to-be-built pup-pack and I've added a music playback feature as well. The package I'm releasing doesn't contain any music though to stay out of legal troubles. Just put your favorite country music mp3 files into a subfolder named "Sheriff" within your music folder (usually something like C:\vPinball\VisualPinball\Music\Sheriff). To specify another folder, do so in the line
myMusicFolder = "Sheriff" To toggle between music and pup-pack playback, edit
usePUP   = false and set that to
usePUP   = true to enable a video juke box (coming from a pup-pack in C:\vPinball\PinUPSystem\PUPVideos\Sheriff). I'm working on that as well.

Right magnasave will play the next random track. Left magnasave will stop playback. Those controls are valid both for music as well as video playback.

The vpx file has gained a little in weight around the hips (from 40 MB to 48 MB) because of the upscaled images.
Not sure if my release qualifies as a soundmod without any music files in it, so let's just call it an update, counting the version count up from 1.0.something to 1.1.0.

    Enjoy

  21. Spin-A-Card (Gottlieb 1969)_Teisen_MOD

First I would like to thank Loserman76 for the beautiful work... wherever he is playing pinball!

small changes were made only aesthetically

small improvements in the playfield, plastics, lighting, flippers position...  I want to make it clear that the descriptions for the tables I'm sharing are "standard" for all, changes are made when there is a need for some adjustment.

version used, follow the link to the original table

    Adjustments made:

    - Playfield color correction and touch-ups
    - cap bumpers corretion
    - added primitive to the base of the bumpers and lighting
    - lighting
    - metals
    - screws
    - new pov
    - target adjustments
    - flippers adjustment
    - new top tabs
    - added lighting to the ball marker in Apron (if you don't like it, just delete the lamp)
    - other small touches

    Loserman Description:
    VPX conversion
    thanks to GNance, Arngrim
others to thank: JPSalas, Pinuck, hauntfreaks, Borgdog
in addition to the "standard" keys (typically "1" to start game and "5" for coin), I've added "3" as another coin input and "4" for coin and auto-start game (like I recall the dime slots generally were) to simulate 3 coin slots
when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. left flipper selects item, right flipper changes option.
I've also included shadows for the ball and flippers. If you want to turn them off look for these lines at the beginning of the script:
    Const ShadowFlippersOn = true
    Const ShadowBallOn = true
change to false if you want either of the shadows not showing on your tables

  22. Star Race (Gottlieb 1980) w VR Room

Gottlieb's Race Thru Space!  Another extended wide-body machine like Circus.  Lots of fun to play, two Varitargets, a hard to hit bonus saucer, and fast loops.  Redbone had been working on getting the playfield to a much better state, and reached out to me to see if I'd like to create the table from it.  It was very similar to physics, style, etc. from the Circus table that I just worked on, so I got to work. Lots of hours were put in on this one, and lots of tweaking on the Varitargets to emulate a real machine.

As usual, I updated to latest VPW standards, physics, GI and shadow baking, Lampz and 3D inserts, dynamic shadows, updated backglass for desktop, playfield mesh for a saucer bevel, roth drop and standup targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, optional DIP adjustments, updated flipper physics, varitargets, VR and fully hybrid modes, Flupper style bumpers and lighting, gBOT system and trough. Redbone provided the playfield and updated the plastics and apron, also provided some ambient sounds.  Hauntfreaks provided the higher resolution VR backglass and cab artwork. I also added options for balls, ball brightness, LUTs, Dip settings, ambient sounds, siderails, and plenty of other VR stuff.  Hauntfreaks even provided a fun space themed wallpaper VR Room walls.

I've included an option for two ROMS (you can find them at pinballnirvana.com... starrac7 and starrace).  The original 6 digit ROM, and a 7 digit ROM (so when you score over a million you can see it).  There's an option in the script to change that, however I've defaulted to the 7 digit.  Make sure to grab the correct backglass if you are in a cab environment.  Hauntfreaks just released the corresponding backglasses.

I've included the nvram files to initially set the Dips, as the ROM creates settings that should be adjusted.  You can either grab those nvram files and put them in your nvram directory, or follow this process to do an initial setup for yourself.
    - 3 ball, Playfield special of "extra ball"
    - Game mode of "replay"
    - Novelty of "normal"
    - Tilt of "ball in play"
    - Check the Match, Credits, Sound when scoring
    - AND most importantly, "Scoring Sounds Only".

Again note... the background sounds from this era can get kind of annoying... especially if you have a good bass speaker in your cab.  Make sure to follow the above procedure for turning the sounds option to "Scoring Sounds Only".

Thanks again to Redbone for the playfield and plastic images, the space sound, and Hauntfreaks for the updated Backglass, and cab art images! Also thanks to Rothbauerw for his linear target code, bietekwiet, passion4pins, and everyone else from the VPW team that provided feedback!
