# Pinup Popper Media Creator

A free, browser-based tool to create wheel art, animated wheels, 3D cube animations, wheelbars, spinning wheel animations and animated full-screen media (loading / attract screens) for Pinup Popper / virtual pinball frontends. Runs entirely offline in your browser — nothing is uploaded, no install needed. Just open the HTML file.

**Seven tools in one:**

🖼️ **PNG Tab** — Design static wheel images with frame rings, motifs, pop-out effects, curved/straight text overlays, glow, scaling and masking. The background motif is freely positionable — drag and scale it under the fixed circular window to frame the image exactly how you want. Shows the exact file size before you save.

🎞️ **APNG Tab** — Build animated wheels. Add animated layers (GIF/MP4), per-layer speed and boomerang, plus ready-made animation presets (spin, pulse, glitch, hue-shift and more). Animated layers can be masked to the wheel circle, so portrait clips stay neatly inside the wheel instead of poking out.

🧊 **Cube Tab** — Create a rotating 3D cube. Put text, images, GIFs or MP4s on each of the 6 faces with Fill / Fit / Stretch options, set a custom rotation sequence, adjust speed/hold/easing, choose edge color & thickness, metallic/gloss finish, and pick from multiple presets.

🟦 **Cubebar Tab and Wheelbar Tab** — Design Pinup Popper cubebars. Choose a T-Bar (straight) or T-Arc (curved) shape, set the fill color, and add an upper and a lower image — each freely positionable with scale, opacity and rotation. Add straight or curved text labels (curved text bends along the arc) with engrave / emboss / glow effects. Exports a transparent 32-bit PNG at 1080×2160 — exactly what Popper's wheelbar accepts.

🎡 **SpinWheel Tab** — Animate the base wheel as a spinning coin or medal. Compose each side (front/back) from multiple image layers (GIF/MP4 supported, with per-layer opacity, frame range and boomerang ping-pong) and multiple text layers (curved or straight, engrave/emboss effects). Layers can sit inside the chrome ring or on top of it. Adjust spin tempo, hold time per side, axis and direction. Export as animated APNG or GIF — transparency preserved in both.

✂️ **Cutout Tab** — Cut a subject out of an image and remove its background to a transparent PNG — handy for prepping motifs, logos or character art for the other tabs. Erase areas by clicking with the Magic Wand or Chroma Key (adjustable tolerance), or draw a selection with Lasso / Polygon / Rectangle / Ellipse and choose to keep or remove what's inside. Fine-tune with an eraser brush, feathered/soft edges and edge smoothing; restore, pan and zoom as you work. Optionally trims empty borders on export. Saves a transparent PNG.

🖥️ **Screen Creator Tab** — Build animated full-screen media for any Pinup Popper display — loading screens, attract videos, backglass / DMD / topper graphics. Layer a background freely: a base color or gradient, a still image, an MP4 video and one of several animated presets (starfield, aurora, synthwave grid, rain, bokeh, rings, glitch and more) — all combinable. On top, add text, image and video layers, each freely positioned, scaled, rotated and individually animated (fade, slide, zoom, pulse, float, spin…). Edit straight on the canvas — drag to move, corner handles to scale, top handle to rotate, tap to select. Add a progress bar and a spinner (each positionable in X/Y and rotatable in 90° steps), plus scanline / vignette / glow / grain overlays and an audio track. Pick any output resolution (HD / 2K / 4K or custom), rotate the whole output 90° for portrait/rotated displays, key out a green screen on image/video layers (chroma key), and save / load your setups with full undo / redo. Exports an MP4 with audio.

**Export & convert:**

- Save wheels, cubes and SpinWheels as APNG (full quality) or GIF (with dithering for smooth gradients)
- All exports are transparent at original dimensions
- Tap "Calculate exact size" to see the real file size for both formats before exporting
- Built-in converter: load any existing APNG or GIF and turn it into the other format — shows both output sizes first
- Screen Creator exports an MP4 (with audio) at your chosen resolution

Wheelbar Octagon T-Bat T-ARC 4k

Something I threw together for Solters APNG, PNG, and cube tool as a suggestion, as I thought it would be a better layout for his cube designs. They are available as an option in the tool, but I thought some people might want the option of downloading them directly. Be aware, I have not tried them, so no Idea how they look. If there seems to be enough interest, I will look at doing the HD versions and other Popper theme layouts. Hope some of you enjoy them. Credit to original designer Tarcisio

To use a MediaPack on a playlist do the following:
Select a playlist (PL_Pinball FX). Drag and Drop the Media Pack file on the Playfield box or any of the other boxes. Confirm by clicking ‘Yes’. It will basically extract the mediapack, take all the media and rename them so they match your playlist.

Game Modes V2 adds full support for:

This update includes launch scripts, custom game mode wheels, and an installer to help set up the required wheel media for PinUp Popper.

Three wheel theme styles are included:

You can now launch supported game modes directly from PinUp Popper using alternate run modes and custom wheels.

So now you can launch all game modes for both FX and FX Midnight from the Pinup-Popper!

ABOUT THESE FILES
This package allows you to launch Pinball FX and Pinball FX Midnight game modes directly from the PinUp Popper front-end using custom wheels and launch parameters.

Custom launch scripts are included for both titles, allowing each table to boot directly into the selected game mode from within PinUp Popper.

INSTALLATION - SIMPLE SETUP

1. Copy the entire GameModesV2 folder into your PinUPSystem folder. So, you have the folder GameModesV2.

2. Open the GameModesV2 folder.

3. Copy InstallGameModesV2.bat into your main PinUPSystem folder.

4. Run InstallGameModesV2.bat from inside PinUPSystem.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

The installer will:

• Check that it is being run from the correct location
• Back up existing game mode wheels
• Back up PuPDatabase.db
• Ask which wheel theme you want to install
• Copy the selected wheels into the correct Popper media folder
• Enable useAltWheels=1 if needed
• Delete thumbnail cache
• Open the Readme guide for the remaining setup steps

Advanced

1 - Install Wheel Media
Step 1
Download and extract the package.

Step 2
Open the folder:
Wheels

Step 3
Choose your preferred wheel theme:
Classic Retrowave Themed Then select:
With Badge Without Badge
IMPORTANT:
Only install ONE wheel theme at a time.

Step 4
Copy all files to:
C:\vPinball\PinUPSystem\POPMedia\Default\System

Step 5
Replace files when prompted.

Step 6
Delete:
C:\vPinball\PinUPSystem\POPMedia\Default\System\pthumbs This forces PinUp Popper to regenerate thumbnails.

2 - IMPORT UPDATED TABLE FILES

Included in the download are updated .pupgames files. (currently on April 2026 for FX and Feb 2026 for FX Midnight)

NOTE: If your emulator still shows as "Pinball M" you do not need to rename it. The launcher still works correctly.

1650+ T-Arc Theme Files

This download is a PDF file that contains links to over 1650 high-res T-Arc theme files that I have made over the past couple weeks. All are original, and some use AI-generated images. The bare T-Arc image came from files posted by "Zandy's Arcade". If credit should go to others for that artwork, please comment below.

There are dozens of different versions of graphics that can be used to customize your Pinup Popper T-Arcs, with unique patterns or images to illustrate filtering tables by “Horror” or “Sports” or “Music”, etc. All are separated by colors and there are 5 different center images that signify the “theme”.

There are 11 different colors with 150 files in each folder, and 5 themes with all colors, so 1650+ files in total. You should be able to find something you like. :- )

There are contact sheets for all colors in the PDF, as well as much larger versions in the G-Drive folder so you can see all the images in each collection without having to download them all.

All files are provided free of charge – please share and give credit where you can. :- )

Rickochet Popper Unified Theme- Creator Themes/Playlists

An early Christmas present for VPU members.

Today I am starting upload to VPU of my complete Rickochet theme for Popper. This theme is a real labour of love for me and months of work has gone into both creating and sourcing the media for this system theme.

Check out the other downloads for the other playlist themes which form part of this set.

This theme is designed primarily for 3 screen setups though will work for 2 screen setups though in some cases you will lose a screen in some cases and so for 2 screen setups where a BG file is provided it is recommended that you use this as your 2nd screen and lose the DMD screen.

The theme system has been designed so that for 3 screen setups a standard attract mode cabinet video can run on the backglass whilst the playfield and DMD screen change whilst browsing the main wheel. Once in theme areas/decades etc. then the attract mode video for your cabinet will be replaced by the theme specific BG video.

This download is for the Creator (sub level) wheel. There is a Wheel, Playfield and FullDMD file for each. The Backglass screen is intended to run from the Default/Home Theme (check my other downloads for this and further instructions)

No music or sound is included in these files so that you can include your own music tastes/preferences and are in 1080p format to reduce performance overhead on VLC and file size. The intended design is to apply no music/sound to the main menu playlists themselves and add a single music file to the Default/Home theme and have this play continuously whilst browsing main menu. Once in sub menus then other music is suggested for certain themes and where these are advised or recommended music to accompany the theme this will be listed on the download page of the instructions.

Pinup Popper Transparent Wheel Bar... Clean and simple. Enjoy.

Put extracted folder "PopperThemeTransparent" in PinupSystem folder and run the InstallTheme.bat file.

Im running on a 4K, you may have to adjust PUPpackScreenSettings to your liking to position vertically.

Credits to TerryRed and Nailbuster as its based on their 4K Horizontal Bar and install package.

Grayson's Minimal Pinup Popper Theme

This is a theme that dramatically changes look of the Popper navigation UI (the main wheel icons navigation system). It is a simpler, more minimal design style.

Before trying this out, make a back up of any folders you edit, so that you can go back your old setup if you wish.
The installation is basically just replacing some of the image files.

There are two parts, the wheel icons, and the "WheelBar" (the horizontal bar behind the icons. It seems to also be called T bar, or Toolbar sometimes).

WHEEL BAR
To use my horizontal Wheelbar (the thing behind the wheel icons sometimes called T Bar), you will first need to install the "T Bar Option 2" t bar theme here: https://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=popper_themes
That installation in the link will get your Wheelbar to be horizontal , rather than curved.
Once you have that working, you can replace the pup_default_toolbar.png and pup_default_loading.mp4 files. I will explain the exact file locations below.
Alternatively, you can just replace the icons, but the theme goes together well when you update both aspects of the UI.

WHEEL ICONS
These are simple .png files that can replace the originals. The primary icons are updated with a new look.
I have created the menu actions, as well as the default "wheel" icon for games that don't have a wheel.
I have also made icons for popular emulators such as:
VPX
Future Pinball
Pinball FX
Pinball FX3
MAME
Demon's Tilt
Xenotilt

INSTALLATION

REPLACING THE FILES
Installation is as easy as replacing the files. There are a couple locations you'll need to update them in. It took me awhile to figure out all the little places, so bare with me if I forgot any, and give feedback if anything didn't update after doing the steps. I'll update this guide as needed.

POPMedia/Default/System
This is the main folder the images live. Remember to make a backup before replacing files.
My download contains a folder called 'System'. Select all the contents (If you arent updating the Wheelbar, or havent installed "T Bar Option 2" , dont copy over the pup_default_toolbar.png and pup_default_loading.mp4 files.)
Copy those files into 'vPinball/PinUPSystem/POPMedia/Default/System' and replace the original files.

POPMedia/Default/Wheel
Now open this folder, 'vPinball/PinUPSystem/POPMedia/Default/System'
Replace any of the Wheel images that I have made updated versions of.

RESETTING THE THUMBS
The icons won't show up quite yet. You'll need to press a button in Pinup Popper.

Open Pinup Popper setup and go to "Popper Setup > GlobalConfig > Game/Wheel Toolbar"
Press "Reset All Thumbs"

Now the new icons should show up when you load up Popper!

UPDATE THE WHEELBAR
There are a few places that the Wheelbar image/video lives. We already updated the Default/System location, but there is an additional step we need to do.
Open the Popper setup app and go to Media Manager.
Select "Playlists"
Click the Playlist called "Home"

In the top right of the media options there is a box for "Wheelbar"
Drag and drop my wheelbar image on it: pup_default_toolbar.png

Now run Pinup Popper and load a game and see if the Wheelbar is loading in the correct location for both the static background and the loading image.

Adjusting the position of the Wheelbar
In Popper Setup, go to "Screens/Theme"
There are several media elements on the left, and their coordinates listed as numbers on the right. There are several values, separated by commas.
To adjust the height of the media, edit the SECOND number value. (I can't remember if increasing the value raises or lowers the position)
Adjust the "Wheel BAR" co-ordinates as needed.
It is also possible the "Loading" media item refers to the Loading animation of the Wheel bar. Please let me know if that is the case and I'll update the instructions.

Additional Considerations
If the LOADING animation is still not the new animation, then you probably need to drag and drop my pup_default_loading.mp4 file onto the "Loading" box just below "Wheelbar". If someone can confirm that is necessary in the comments, I can update these instructions.
If you want this to be the Wheelbar for all of your playlists, click on the other Playlists in the Popper Media Manager. Then Delete the media for the Wheelbar. I believe that makes it rely on that "Home" Wheelbar media. .Maybe someone can confirm that also.

Let me know how it goes, and if there are any bits of the guide I can simplify. The tricky part was figuring out all the little things I had to do for Popper to find the right images. Because I already have it set up on my cab, it has been awhile since I did the process, so let me know if I need to update any of these steps!
