  1. Tron Legacy (Stern) (PuP Edition, PMD 1.1) (do not use - out of date)

NOTE: DO NOT use this table, as it is out of date. Use normal VPX tables and newer PuP-Packs instead. This table is here for refence only.

    Tron Legacy (Stern) (PuP Edition)

PinUp Player Edition mod : TerryRed
    PinUp Player created by: NailBuster

VPX table created by: ICPJuggla, freneticamnesic (original FP to VPX conversion).
RustyCardores: Surround sound mod, new sounds added (where there were none)
DJRobX: Updated physics and code to bring table inline with VPX 10.4 routines. ROM-controlled GI and PWM flasher support. Prettier Ball.
    HauntFreaks: File size optimization

Other credits: Rom and GLXB (original FP table version), SLAMT1LT (Ultimate Edition FP version, and inspiration for this table mod)

To see the world's first PinUp Player VPX table mod, watch this video of it here in my cabinet:

PinUp Player is a program that lets you play any video file on your Backglass, Topper, DMD, or any other screen using VLC media player. These videos can be controlled through the table’s script, switches, triggers, lights, or other table events. This allows any VP, FP or FX2 (using DOFLinx for FP and FX2) table to have a Backglass or Middle Screen with full videos like Jersey Jack Pinball, modern Stern tables, or Heighway Pinball tables.
You can control the videos using direct PuP control through the table’s script, or you can use B2S Server and create a PuPB2S that doesn’t require any modification of the table (but with less control), similar to a normal B2S (but really easy to make).
This PuP table mod is not using the PuPB2S method (which uses B2S Rom calls), and was a complete mod of the table script. I created all the videos myself (1920×1080 for Backglass, and 1920×822 for Topper), inspired by SLAMT1LT’s FP version.
Since this is a rom based table. I have no access or control over any of the game code or actions. I literally made A LOT of new code specifically for PUP that works based on only triggers / switches from the game, and the playfield lights and neon ramp colour logic. It’s a miracle I was able to pull this off, as this works with most MB modes, as well as the jackpots, etc all having unique videos with titles, etc.  Because of this, I also wasn’t able to do anything for Sea of Simulation, End of Line MB,  or portal, as they all use White for neon ramp colours, and I have no way to differentiate them.

To use this table you will need:
    - VLC media Player "32 bit" only installed! (64 bit version won't work):   https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
    - PinUp Player installed:   http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=38979&page=1
    - "Tron_Legacy" PuP videos should be installed to your "PUPVideos" folder.
    - there must be absolutely no files in the "PUPVideos\trn_174h" folder! (this folder is created when the table is first run, as is the Tron_Legacy folder)  That folder is meant for a PuPB2S (based on the table's rom). This table's "PuP mod" doesn't use the PuPB2S function, so if you have any videos in there meant for a PuPB2S, then you will have videos from both folders playing...and you don't want that!
    - ensure all files from PinUp Player are "unblocked". You may need to set PinUp Player Compatibility Mode to WinXP if you are running on Win7. You may also need to have PinUp Player "Run as Admin".
    Desktop users:

VPX MUST be run in windowed fullscreen! PuP will not be visible if VPX is run in exclusive fullscreen. When setting up PuP, size and postition both your PuP Backglass and PuP Topper so they don't cover the table.
    Cabinet users:
No Pinball X Topper or backglass "videos" can be playing when the table is launched and running. While it "may" work, having videos from PBX and PuP playing on the same screen may cause issues. Pinball X still image for your Backglass or Topper screen is fine. PuP will play over still images and B2S backglasses, no problem...in fact its encouraged to use a still image for the Topper background, as this PuP mod doesn't use any "Background images or videos" that are always displayed. You can run your playfield screen in Exclusive Fullscreen, just don't setup any PuP screens to play on that screen, as they won't be visible.

    Recommendations:
    - this table mod is designed to be used with both a Backglass PuP screen, and a Topper PuP screen. You don't require both of those however, in a cabinet for PuP to work.
    - you can have both the PuP Backglass and PuP Topper on the same screen if you wish. Just re-size and position them on the same screen so they don't overlap each other. You may also only use one or the other if you wish.
    - setup both your Backglass PuP screen and Topper PuP screen to "Pop-up enabled".  This will have videos pop-up and play and then close when finished.
    - note, that if you have a looping video playing (Topper, multiball modes) when you exit the table, PuP will continue to play this looping video as it hasn't been given a stop or disable loop command.

    Please note:
This table mod is using a PinMAME Rom, and therefor I have no control over what the table is actually doing. All I have done is create new code in the table script that will react to switches, triggers, playfield lights, Timers, and the Neon Ramp colours to play videos as a result of in-game events. While I have thoroughly tested this mod, there may be rare instances where a video may play when it shouldn't, or a video will stop when it shouldn't (mostly just Topper videos). This is usually a result of a ball drain's timing being off a little (with ball saver,multi-ball modes, etc). This is beyond my control, but if it does happen, it won't affect the gameplay at all. Once you have a normal ball drain or certain multiball modes active again, then everything should be good to go again.
This mod was a lot of work, but the results are just too damn cool! I hope you enjoy it!

Configuring PinUp Player's Screen settings for this table only (so you don't need to change PuP's default settings):
Since I don't think SetScreenex is mentioned yet in any of the PuP docs...I'll mention how I used it with Tron (PuP Edition) here.   In the table script near the top, you can find these two lines:   PuPlayer.SetScreenex 2,0,0,0,0,1 'Set PuPlayer Backglass to Pop-Up On <screen number> , xpos, ypos, width, height, POPUP PuPlayer.SetScreenex 0,0,0,0,0,1 'Set PuPlayer Topper to Pop-Up On <screen number> , xpos, ypos, width, height, POPUP   Screen number 2 = Backglass, screen number 0 = Topper.   Change the last digit to 0 if you want to disable PopUp for this table ONLY! (though Pop-Up is recommended)   Setting the xpos, ypos, width, height, to 0 will also use PinUp Players's default size and position if you don't want a different position and size for only this table.   Or you can comment out the entire line with an apostrophe to disable the command entirely (and use PinUp Player's default settings).   Also you will see these lines:   PuPlayer.Init 0,"Tron_Legacy" PuPlayer.Init 2,"Tron_Legacy"   If you don't want to use one of the PuP screens at all, just comment out the line with an apostrophe which screen (Backglass=2, Topper=0) you don't want to use specifically for this table ONLY! This way you don't have to change PuP's default settings.   All of the above is only applicable to a PuP table "MOD" that doesn't use a PuPB2S (like Tron Legacy PuP Edition). This is the only way to allow for this table to have its own user definable PuP screens config without changing PuP's default settings.

  5. Mystery Castle (Alvin G 1993)

'Mystery Castle (Alvin G 1993) - agentEighty6 March 2020 (previously uploaded to Vpinball)
    '
    ' Release notes:
' Version 2.1.0 - Updated version for VPU that includes physics adjustments and table tweeks
    '
'*** Be aware that you need to update your SAMBuild to Rev r4934 or newer in order for this table to work correctly.
'        Versions prior to that will have issues with the plunger and the VUK solenoids firing consistently.

    'Special thanks goes out to:
'    gtxjoe - For putting out a good v9 model and supplying a bunch of reference pics (and that terrific pf image) to give me a head start.
'        I used some images and primitives from v9 but rebuilt most everything else.
    '
'    djrobx - Updating the vpinmame dll to fix the VUK switch and plunger issues with alvin g tables.
'        * Be sure to update your SAMBuild (vpinmame.dll) to the most current version *
    '
'    arngrim - Play testing and some great DOF and table suggestions, corrections, and enhancements.
    '
'    vogliadicane and kds70 - Enhancements to pf and plastics images, adding some nice graphical touches, and refining the lighting.
    '
'    VPX development team - For making and keeping VP up to date and one of the best pinball simulators available.
    '
'    To anyone I may have forgotten, please let me know and I'll add you.
    '
    '    Known issues:
'    Current ROMs incorrectly allow incomplete number of dropdown target hits to activate/increase the multiplier.
'        It's NOT a table issue.  "mystcasa" ROM requires only 4 dropdowns and "mystcast" requires 5.
'        Not sure if a good ROM exists that requires for the correct amount (6) to be dropped.

  6. Whirl-Wind (Gottlieb 1958)

Whirl-Wind is a great example of a classic Gottlieb woodrail. Like many of this era, it has gobble holes, a roto target, alternating scoring lamps and a lot of bumpers. What makes this game unique is the center kicker between the flippers that launches the ball toward the roto target. It keeps the gameplay lively and offers a unique flipper configuration.

@scorpion approached me about building this game some months ago. He provided photos and even measurements. From there I started rebuild/redraw work on the playfield and plastics.  Thankfully @scottacus was available on the scripting side of things.

A quick word about what Scott was able to accomplish for this game: the peculiarities of how a roto target works, how it spins, stops, and indexes, were all thought through and brought to life in the coolest way possible. Even the lamps at the gobble holes light properly as the target spins. It is really something to see. So extra thanks to Scott beyond his normal excellence at bringing EMs to life for the ingenuity on display.

    Source images: scorpion
    Scripting/rules/ideas: scottacus
    Graphics/models/physics: bord
    Audio: whirlwind

Thanks also to the handful of beta testers that offered great feedback.

    Game notes:
The script has an option to enable the manual ball lift (authentic). I modeled the entire cabinet for this game so if someone is inclined to create a VR version I'm happy to share my files for it. Don't smoke. It looks cool but only another smoker will ever want to kiss you. Also it is really bad for you.

Scratch build of Bally's "Bon Voyage" EM from 1974. 4k-ish playfield (upscaled from 2k and touched up). VR minimal room included - thanks to Sixtoe!

This table wouldn't have been possible without the valuable assistance of xsvtoys from Pinside. He provided invaluable playfield, plastics, and backglass scans and images, and had so many other great resources. Thanks buddy!

  8. Argosy (Williams 1977)

Williams' last EM, this is a fun and fast table, often seen in the Classics bank at tournaments.

This VPX version is a full rebuild from the VP9 version by user42, from an original table by luvthtapex and a mod by dboyrecords. A number of gameplay inaccuracies have been fixed and rubbers and lighting added. A VR room has been integrated as of v1.1 and should work automatically if played in VPVR.

Thanks so much to the original authors, Sixtoe for the minimal VR room, UncleWilly and Arconovum for the EM reel system, VPX and VPVR devs, and the VPVR table community!

  12. Q*bert's Quest (Gottlieb 1983)

Here is a strange table from Gottlieb. They were definitely thinking out of the box during this era. Q*bert's Quest features four flippers and a figure eight layout. Gameplay is pretty straightforward: complete pyramids and stop the bad guys.
Resources were all redrawn from scratch for this version.
I recommend entering the F6 menu and changing Game Mode to extra ball.
2021 notes: now VR compatible, improved gameplay & sounds but visuals I'm calling good enough. Plenty of other games deserve more attention than this one.
    Enjoy!

    re-up of old vpinball table.

This is a mod, with permission, of LynnInDenver's Solar Ride. Started mainly to fix the playfield to be proper size and position, and did lots of other scripting, graphical and object changes/updates with much help from hauntfreaks and sliderpoint.

There are a few options at the top of the script for turning on ball and flipper shadows and changing flipper rubber color.

zip includes solaride.nv nvram file that sets the replay values to match the score cards. place in vpinmamenvram folder, as usual press F6 to change some of the rom options

I wanted to have this done before the end of October to added to the halloween style tables
it comes with a music pack, covers of KISS songs.... why covers?... I love when artists cover other artists work....
if you want you can change the music list very easy in the script and add your own MP3's
I play this game as a 5 ball game (it has 5 music tracks)
    I use the kissb rom

This is the 4 player version of my Darling table for those of you with more friends.  Pretty much the same game, some of the table physics has been tweaked slightly mostly with the captive balls.  Hauntfreaks provided the artwork for the db2s and of course had done the playfield graphics as well.

Includes my version of the loserman and gnance option menu, hold down left flipper before starting a game for 3 or 5 ball, free play, and extra ball options.

Hold down left flipper key before starting a game for a couple seconds to open the option menu (inspired by loserman76 and gnance) Many thanks to sliderpoint and StevOz for physics and bug testing! Thanks to Plumb on vpf for the Astro playfield scan that started this.

  23. Silver Slugger (Gottlieb 1990)

re-upload from a couple years back.  I think this is the last of my tables except for a few variations (4 player or import/export) of tables I've already uploaded.

Some time back I ran across some decent photos of a stripped/NOS playfield for Silver Slugger, did a quick look around and didn't see a VPX release, so started building it up.  Sometime later while looking for plastics I ran across bodydumps early vpx WIP of Silver Slugger that included redrawn playfield and plastics, and I said "dammit". since I had put a fair amount of work into my build I decided to keep on with it, and eventually got in touch with bodydump who gave me permission to use his resources.  since the playfields were not a direct match I decided to stick with mine instead of moving everything around, but it was fairly easy to move around bodydumps plastics to match my setup.

first a couple thank you's and kudos:
@bodydump, thanks for letting me use your resources, very much appreciated
@DCrosby, thanks for the upscale/cleanup of my playfield
@Schreibi34, thanks for the new kicker primitives
@bord, thanks for all the blender instruction

So speaking of blender, I'm still learning, and this includes my first try at some reflections on walls.  Not a lot of them, but just the most visible of the shiny metal walls.  Also did another set of GI shadows in blender. I'm sure none of these are as good as others are capable of, but I think they turned out OK, and I'm learning something new (they say that's good for us old people's brains).

Table has a few options near the top of the script for turning flipper and ball shadows on and off and for choosing the apron card colors (stock black on white or inverse white on black).

FS is setup for my cab which has the playfield in windows portrait mode, I'm sure you all can figure it out, or at some point someone will post a wrong landscape pov file.

another old, old table from vpinball.com.  This one could really use an update.

This is a 2 player EM version of Gottlieb’s Cleopatra. Cleopatra was available in EM and SS versions, Pyramid is EM only. I ran across an old VP8 jpsalas version of Pyramid on one of those other sites, and  JP was nice enough to share even more of his resources than what was in the table, and with the more recent Cleopatra SS tables that have been done there were plenty of good resources, and I found a decent backglass image on the internet somewhere.  Used JP’s code mostly for play logic, and went off to the races.  I happened to get enough resources to do something I had wanted to do with my Gemini table, and that was make two versions in one, yes TWO!  There is a old, rusty, faded, worn, yellowed version and there is a nice bright shiny version all in the same table.  Borrowed the idea from loserman76 and gnance for the hold down left shift to open the options menu, and let you choose not only number of balls and replay levels, but whether you want to play clean or dirty.

So big thanks to jpsalas, loserman76, gnance and the internet.  Oh yeah and those guys who made VP10.

Thanks also to sliderpoint and hauntfreaks for the vp and graphics help as always.

Hold down left flipper key for options menu when not in a game.
