I've always enjoyed the Grand Lizard table, especially the one created by 3rdAxis that can be found here.
What I did not like was the backglass art / image that was released with the actual table back in 1986. To me, it never seemed to match the table properly.
Then I came to find out this:

Originally, the backglass was to have the standard numeric-only display windows. When the game went into production, the backglass was redesigned to incorporate new alphanumeric displays, and its artwork was changed.

Bill Parod was the sound designer on this game. The background drum music was the first time that Williams games used digitized audio samples for music. After Bill worked on Grand Lizard, he improved his technique of digitized music samples on the High Speed pinball game.

When I saw the original backglass created by the great Paul Faris (definitely my favorite backglass artist), I knew THAT was the one I wanted displayed as the backglass for the VPX table. I found a decent image online and cleaned it up and re-worked it to a decent 2k size.
Even though the "TILT" and "HIGHEST SCORES" text were on the original pre-production backglass, there was no lamp or solenoid for them - in the final version of the table, so those 2 lights were taken off the backglass, but the text of TILT and HIGHEST SCORES appears on the LED strips instead.
Nor were there individual lights to light up the player "1, 2, 3, 4" areas on the backglass, so I illuminated them as well with the turn on of the backglass. Text across the LED strips tell you which player is active.
Why Williams decided to change the backglass as the last second is still a mystery to me - but I MUCH PREFER the pre-production version.
Pre-Production backglass carrried the copyright text of 1985 and not 1986 as the tables release.
Download includes 2 new high-quality Wheel as well to match the backglass as well as a version with the GRAND LIZARD text to match the other backglass.
Be sure to 're-name' the backglass to the same name as the VPX table to ensure proper loading.

Back to the Future (2 Screen) B2S Animated Backglass

I made this backglass to go with Nitronimbus' Back to the Future table release. The old backglass did not match the new playfield that well.
This release is intended for either 2 screen setups without a pup pack, or in a 3 screen setup with the PupPack running on the FULL DMD Screen (see example photos).
I added numerous active lighting effects that follow along with the game play - active brake lights, animated flames, white lightning, DELOREAN letters etc...
The original DMD on the real pin is recreated on the backglass to free up the Full DMD for the PupPack.

This is a brand new high-resolution 2500px backglass for Rapid Fire (Bally 1982) with authentic lighting and coloring.
Backglass has Authentic (turn on) lighting using a reverse matte from the backside of the original backglass. It also has Fantasy Mode (Select by Right Clicking the Backglass and Set Mode to 'Fantasy') that has the same turn on feature - but all an animation of the projectiles from the laser gun.
Includes new high-quality Wheel as well to match the backglass.
I don't think the Rapid Fire VPX table was ever DOF'ed, but Hyperball has DOF included currently. So if someone wants to DOF the Rapid Fire VPX table (someone who knows how to do it properly), and let me know, that would be greatly appreciated.

'Rapid Fire' was Bally's response to Williams' 1981 'Hyperball'. The pre-production working name of this game was 'Cross Fire' as evidenced in Bally's "Numerical List of Machines".
At Chicago Expo 2009, former President of Williams Electronics Michael Stroll said that at the time of this game's making, Williams referred to it as "Operation Xerox".
Jim Patla told us that the rush to get this game to market meant that it was produced in only 6 weeks (instead of a normal one year's time) but there were problems with the gun assembly.
Patla estimated that it fired at 14 balls per second which in the course of steady use caused gun failure on location. He wanted a spare gun to be included in the cash box of each shipped game but management didn't agree, saying that that would be acknowledging that the game had troubles.
Leftover cabinets from this production run were used in producing the following games:
'Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man Pinball', May 1982
'Eight Ball Deluxe Limited Edition'', October 1982
'Centaur II', June 1983

This is a 2 screen + 3 Screen (with grill) new alternate backglass I made for the VPX version of the Jaws table. Since there is also a Pinball FX Jaws table - I wanted to make a different version for the VPX table. This backglass is cobbled together from numerous movie poster images and a lot of custom art - so it can be considered 'orignal'.
You cannot use the B2S file if you are using the pup pack for this table ... but, if you want to display this backglass in your front end ONLY and still use the pup back backglass for actual gameplay, use the included video file or PNG image file for your front end - that it will then turn off once you load the table for the pup pack.
If you are not using the pup pack - rename this directB2S file to the same exact name as the table in the 'Tables' folder. You can turn off the 'Grill' by RIGHT-CLICKING on the backglass when loaded and set 'Grill' to Hidden, Save, and then restart the table.
Turn ON feature animation when the backglass first loads.
Also included are 2 wheel images.
