Early in 2021, I received permission from Bigus to update this table and add the VR conversions... originally done by Tom Tower and Ninuzzu.  The VR conversion included backglass, flashers, lighting, GI, and other table issue fixes (high score initials, trough multiball and tilt issue, and others).  I used the Blacksad dark image from his backglass, as it looks amazing.  All the interactivity was done in the script.  Sixtoe did a lot of lighting updates as well, including bloom lighting, overlay, etc.

Version 2.0 includes a hybrid mode for desktop, cab, and VR.  Plus all the latest updates that the VPW team has been doing lately.  It includes Fleep sounds, nFozzy / Roth physics and flippers, and general table physics updates.  It also has Rothbauerw drop targets, VPW Dynamics Shadows by Iakki, Apophis, and Wylte, Flupper Domes, and LUT options.  Bord also added a playfield mesh so the ball goes into the center saucer more realistically.  I also added a recent update by fluffhead35 for ballrolling and ramproll amplication sounds.  Hauntfreaks provided a couple lighter ball images as well.

I also added more VR options to include a wall clock, and additional animation.

There are plenty of options in the script including LUT lighting changes, ball brightness, VR, cab, and desktop modes, dynamic shadows, rolling amplification, and other sound and shadow options.  Also for VR users, you can change to different room environments.

If you get 3 credits each time you add a coin, I put instructions in the script on how to modify your ROM to only add one coin.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!  And thanks again to all involved!

Released

3.0.22

This version is for VR users only.  Nothing else was modified from 3.0.21.

Drummo offered to create a 3D Virtual Reality Backglass primitive, and it looks amazing!  If you are playing in VR, the default backglass is now the 3D version, and I highly recommend checking it out.  There is an option in the SCRIPT to go back to the original... (const VR3Dbackglass    = 1        '0=Off 1=On).  If you have the 3D backglass on, you can also turn on or off the balloons (however they are much better left on).

If you by chance have issues with performance or loading, I've kept the version 3.0.21 on here as well.

Thanks to Drummo for creating!

This next gen VLM update is mind blowing. Jaw on the floor, mind blown. With incredible gameplay improvements to boot. What an awesome collaboration. @UnclePaulie you have become a true VPX master. @apophis you the Yoda. And @tomate .. I would kill for your skills. Many thanks for this masterpiece.

Wow, love the updated 3d backglass for the VR mode. This table plays and looks so real. It has to be one of the oddest and quirky tables I have ever played, but somehow it's very additive too. Thanks so much for sharing and updating this one.

It's a joy to look at. I followed progress but I never expected it to look like this in VR.

Thank you for the nice work updating this. Been gone for a while and had the original from TT and NZ....it was nice to load this up and flip some flippers. Thank you to all involved from the start until now. When the multi ball starts and that chicken starts clucking, I can't help but smile! 😉

WOW!!

This game in VR is awesome now!!

Super fun and that 3D back Glass is stellar!! Should be many more like this! It reminds me of something you'd see on a Zaccaria backglass.

Shaker motor tied to heartbeat is bad ass! Really nice DOF!

Thank you so much for making this table better than the original was! 😁

Thought I'd previously left a review but apparently not..... This table highlights Uncle Paulie's determination for perfection with each update over the months improving looks and gameplay. Absolute beauty that plays perfectly and one to definitely show off to friends.

The table itself is huge fun and accessible for beginners. The designers of the artwork and call outs must have been on a lot drugs but it all knits together for a great pinball experience.

Thanks as always to UncleP and fellow contributors. Best in class.

Thank you for giving this table much needed love. The build I've had in my collection, while fun, definitely felt dated. Amazing work!

I am genuinely blown away that the gradual updates on this table have finally led to this absolute masterpiece of a table. I have to admit I was immediately hesitant as it looked just like a new coat of paint on an already perfect recration but boy I was wrong - this game is so real you can practically smell it. Thank you Uncle P and VPW for this amazing game!

The table looks great, but after about 20 seconds I have a script error in line 4283 Invalid procedure call or invalid argument: RGB

Does anyone have any idea what that might be.

Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Response from the author:

That line is something I use in nearly every table I do.  It controls the color of the rubbers with General Illumination (GI) as it fades on and off.  Essentially when the GI goes off, the rubbers darken (like everything else on the table), and when the GI goes on, it brightens up.  I looked at the script code and it's identical to every table I've done, as well as prior versions.  So, I'm not sure why you are seeing it.  Did you see it on other versions of 1812?  Did it go away on a table restart?  Do you see it on any other table I've done, as it's identical code?  Also, do you have the latest vpx and vpinmame recommended in the notes?

Very nice.

After hours of playing i noticed one time during multiball that one ball desapeared. I couldn't notice where but certainly in the upper area near of the bumpers.

Response from the author:

Thanks for the feedback.  I'll have an update again with some hidden physics walls that will correct that.

Normally Gottlieb table designer, in my opinion, has less quality if compare to Williaws, Stern and Bally tables.

But Unclepaulie gave a great update and put this table close to others.

Thank you very much
