  1. Grand Prix (Williams 1976) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

This is another video for which I had a hard time coming up with an animation based on the game's artwork.  So I decided to use real footage from a Grand Prix instead.  I tried to find period-appropriate video to use, but when I blew up the cars to the size of the screen, they didn't look like cars anymore, no matter how hard I tried to make it work.  So instead, the footage is from the 2022 Miami Grand Prix.  Sorry, about the Crypto.com advertisements built in - I honestly didn't notice them until I had put together all of the clips.

The logo is a modified version from the game's backglass.

By the way, for the true F1 fans out there:  I apologize in advance from the audio.  I built it from audio clips that are not at all the original sound from the video.  It was the only way I could provide audio without having to keep the german commentary from the original that is now oddly-trimmed because of my edits.  If it bothers you, feel free to remove it.

This video is built from the game's backglass, plus a fair amount of redrawing to make the background work.  The audio is from stock sources.

  3. Quick Draw (Gottlieb 1975) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

Someday I'd like to go back and redraw this backglass.  The version that is currently available is from a low-resolution source that has been upconverted, and by the time it gets blown up in this loading video, the limitations of this kind of upconversion are very apparent.

In the meantime, this is what I've got.  The video is built form the game's backglass with a lot of clean up work.  I subbed in a photo of a real silver dollar because I just couldn't with the pixelated version at this level of zoom.

  5. High Speed (Williams 1986) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

The version of this video that is marked "Flashing" has full screen flashing lights running through the entire video.  The one marked "No Flashing" does not.  Depending on your circumstances, you may want to use one or the other.

This video is built from the game's backglass, plus a photo of a road that I substituted in.  After I cut out the car from the scene, I couldn't make a convincing enough road based on what was left.  The audio is all pulled from stock sources.

  6. Ship Ahoy (Gottlieb 1967) - Loading

I couldn't think of a good way to do any animation from the artwork on this machine, so I went for a video intro instead.  The logo is from the backglass.

  14. Super Spin (Gottlieb 1977) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

This video is made from elements of the game's backglass.  It uses a different stock video clip than the 4 player version, Jet Spin, so there's that.

I originally made this video in 60fps, but the file size was huge.  I tried to convert it to 30fps, but apparently downconverting the circular motion in the background really confuses Handbreak, so the resulting video looked insane, and not in a pleasant way, but more in a "I-think-I'm-going-to-be-sick" nausea-inducing way.  I ended up recreating the timeline in order to get the framerate down to 30.

    Format 1080p

This video is made from elements of the backglass.  The audio is "Hello My Baby" from a 1997 Phish concert recording.  Apparently, Phish sometimes does barbershop quartet numbers, or at least used to, go figure.

  16. Jet Spin (Gottlieb 1977) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

This video is made up of elements of the backglass and stock video.

In some other universe, I spent a long afternoon putting out all of the people on the backglass and the animation in this video has much more of the chaos that is going in that picture.  In this universe, you get 4 people and a different background from the video for Super Spin, which is the 2 player version of this game.

What is a jet spin supposed to be anyway?  I noticed while I was working on this video that the jet surfboards on the backglass are tethered.  I'd really hate to be the poor ride operator that has to untangle that rat's nest at the end of every session.

  25. Gorgar (Williams 1979) Loading

    Format: 1080p

There are two versions of this video.  Which one you choose may depend on how ridiculous you think this table is to begin with.

"Gorgar - Loading" is just the backglass from the game with a few animated snakes thrown in for good measure.

"Gorgar Got You - Loading" adds a very short, Shatneresque spoken lyrics jam to the mix with a little backup from The Kinks' "You Really Got Me".  I couldn't decide if this was stupid and funny or just stupid, but it is the version I installed on my cabinet.
