Due to system limitations searching with words of 3 or less characters will not return results. For instance; Doctor Who. This will not return results as the system is trying to search for both Doctor AND Who in which Who will not be found as it's a 3 character word. To find Doctor Who; you'd search for either Doctor or "Doctor Who".
Search Tips:
For specific searches; enclose your search with quotes. Example: "Doctor Who" or "Addams Family".

So to recap from my cabinet thread, I had some issues develop - serious ones - related to my shaker motor and how it was starting to impact my vpin Radiant Silverball. When I was streaming Last Action Hero on Saturday evening, the Pinscape suddenly seemed to bang the space bar repeatedly. Post-stream testing ultimately showed that sustained shaker use was starting to cause the computer to hard-lock. The computer that I had swapped in has a "tall" CPU cooler that oscillates when the shaker is active, and I suspect it was too much for it. I removed the shaker from the config, and then physically removed the shaker from the cabinet. But what to do, I've grown used to having something go off for the shaker, but clearly I can't use a real one, plus the one I did have installed I could never manage to get the intensity turned down to where I actually wanted it. I came up with a solution, using an intended addition to my Surround Sound Feedback setup. So this is now, effectively, my shaker motor - a transducer mini bass puck. It's mounted near the coin door, kind of centered left to right. I've had it for months, and finally decided to get it installed. What I did was I mounted the shaker motor to a board, set it on top of my standing mat that I have in front of the pinballs, held it down with my knees, and recorded it as I put voltage to it with my benchtop power supply on my soldering cart. A little janky, but I got an appropriate sound for what I had in mind, which was the goal. I took the sound file into Audacity, and worked on removing most of the higher frequency - I was aiming for something that would play predominately on a subwoofer installed in 7.1. This meant everything above 200Hz had to go in the trash. With that done, I looked at Last Action Hero - I had a pretty good idea of how the shaker would act - and I found how to reference the appropriate coil via Earthshaker, and react to that call. I dropped in a ShakerTimer timer on Last Action Hero with an interval of 30 and nonactive, and applied the following routines: SolCallback(16) = "ShakerMotor" Sub ShakerMotor(enabled) If enabled Then ShakeTimer.Enabled = 1 playsound SoundFX("ShakerMotorLow",DOFContactors) Else ShakeTimer.Enabled = 0 End If End Sub Sub ShakeTimer_Timer() Nudge 0,1 Nudge 90,1 Nudge 180,1 Nudge 270,1 End Sub "ShakerMotorLow" is the name of the sound file that I imported into the table to serve as the shaker. It took some playing around with the subwoofer volume, but I got it to where we can feel when the "shaker" goes off, can hear it despite it being on the subwoofer itself, and yet the cabinet won't be losing parts to vibration anymore. And it does work more or less as intended when I played Last Action Hero. My intent is to install the same "mod" on Earthshaker (really just swap in the sound), and play that on Tuesday on my Twitch stream. There was no way I was going to play that without some sort of shaker effect. And going forward is the process of getting it installed on any table that supports a shaker motor, and then on any table I want some sort of shaker effect - like hitting the castle in Medieval Madness. Avago present to you the Time Lord pinball game. Our objective was to make a game that looked good, played great and was fun to play. Hopefully we have achieved that but ....Time will tell😁. The Backglass, VPX game, wheel & rules are include this download and a game instruction video available here on Youtube. https://youtu.be/2HrowxmZe58. You require VPX10.7, Freezy and Flex DMD to run run this game. No ROM is required. The game is built on a JP Salas game framework using Darks DMD and flashes. It has been a great pleasure to work with JP to produce a game that plays like a great JP Salas inspired table should. Gedankekojote97 applied the latest nFozzy/Roth physics, Fleep sounds, luts, and ramp textures to what we thought was fun game and make it so much better than we ever imagined. DOF is applied to the game only in the 1.0.2 version. VR is in the pipeline with Rajo Joey coming on board and joining the Avago team. The Game The game is based on a story by Hayden Perno about an evil imposter who has set himself up as the Time Lord by assassinating the the Master of Time, stealing the throne and banishing Q-man the rightful heir of time, to the far reaches of the galaxy. In the game you must complete 5 tasks to defeat the evil imposter TimeLord and restore Q-Man's position as the true Lord of Time. During gameplay table graphics change, rotating planets appear, dragons eyes follow your every move, rotating clocks can suddenly change direction which are all very nice buuuuut, poor shot selection will be greeted by let's say with commentary by a less than complimentary robot. This game was built for fun and the callouts are a highlight of the game. The ultimate goal of the game is to complete the 5 tasks and the reward is a whole new playfield. The glory table will appear for 60 seconds and you have an opportunity to make glory billions via the the centre spiral ramp. Table influences The current version is third 3rd generation & 2 years in the making so many influences can be seen as this table has evolved. Seeing JP's scripting in Serious Sam was the turning point and his generosity and support to use his ideas and help with the final scripting has made this game possible. Scotty Wickburgh is also huge influence on this game and you will recognise some of his ideas in rotating bumper caps and a captive ball spinner. Other influences you may notice include the TOTAN style ramps (They were the first objects on the table and remained till the end), the Shovel Knight lifting ramp ramp for ball locks by Wiz and the plunger lane style ramp from Bride of Pinbot. All of these have a Time Lord twist to suit the the Time Lord gameplay and story. Of course there are many other people to thank. Those who produced the VPinballX framework, freezy, flex dmd and those who run a site to share. Thanks to Flupper & Bord for tutorials & last but not least to Crackers and Mozzie1 for making sure this game was kept real in every way. They made it fun & kept the energy up. The Avago Team are JP Salas- Game framework, playfield objects , testing & final scripting Gedankekojote97- nFozzy/Roth physics, Fleep sounds, Luts, Ramp textures & dynamic ball shadows Crackers & Mozzie- Table production team and testing Outhere-DOF Wheel by Vtdmame RusstyT- Table graphics,Game Design, scripting, callouts, Project lead, ************************************************************************** For those people with 7:1 sound setups and are experiencing problems with allocation of Backglass Sounds to the table please see the note I left in the review. This link is to a demonstation of the gameplay and table exciter speakers with the designed setup. The overlay sounds such a the Dragon roar do not cause the flat speakers to distort. https://youtu.be/loXfxHt8zZ4 I find that 7.1 SSF enhanced sound setting reduces clarity and separation of the sounds and its not my preferred setting. This is a link to a demonstration of that game https://youtu.be/kG_FxQnebgc ************************************************************************** ********************************* This game is not for resale or redistribution ********************************* TimeLord_1.0.0.zip -
Hello everyone! I have a performance issue with DOF; puzzling me for quite some time. I got DOF R3++ running and everything works but the output is jerky/slow/stuttering. DOF sends data to my 2 output controllers which I have installed: pinscape and teensystrip (teensy 4.0). When running any table in vpx (used a couple of releases, now on 10.7.4) all my output is jerky. I only have some led-buttons (pinscape) and some ws2812b ledstrips (teensy 4.0) installed. The input devices on the pinscape controller work instantly; no lag at all. Flipper and plunger input is working great without delay. More complex led strip effects are jerky or just partially shown. I only have this problem when the table is actually running. When I press Escape in vpx when the table is running, then the last output that the B2S backglass server sent to DOF shows nicely. Could this be caused by the B2S Backglass server triggering to much data to DOF during gameplay? The start-button and launch-button for example do blink but in most tables, especially rom-based ones, the led-button does not go completely out. But when I press Escape in vpx when playing (freezing the playfield), the led-button blinks nicely. When I use a DOF tester to activate the led effects and led-buttons individually, everything works fine; also the most complex led strip effects. The DOF tester uses the same config-folder as during gameplay. If anyone would be so kind to help me out or has some ideas what could be causing this. Could it be that the B2S backglass server sends too much data simultaneously at some point causing DOF to trigger too many effects simultaneously to each output device without any delay? Or am I missing a setting I need to tweak in one of the configuration files? I am currently using B2S backglass server 2.0 and vpinmame 3.6; but also with earlier versions i had this performance issue. A good table example in my case is Docter Who. Testing all output individually with the DOF tester works great when testing the rom. But during gameplay the output devices do not perform well. When i use a non rom-based table like Batman66 I don't notice any problems. All output, like the matrix leds in the back of my cabinet show instantly. The B-A-T-M-A-N letters displayed on the matrix led syncronize exactly with the intro song. If anyone has had similar issues please let me know.

This tutorial should help beginners to create their own RGB led strip configurations. I started making notes for myself and thought sharing could help others. You should already have led strips installed and DOF configuration working. Use http://configtool.vpuniverse.com to setup and download your directoutputconfig.ini file. After some trial&error, doing changes on Notebook in living room, running down to cabinet to test, going back, etc, I’ve created a mini matrix, just to see how effects work. This mini matrix is here used for the videos: The matrix has 24 pixel on left and right side, with 4 x 12 for the center matrix. I’ve used one meter of 96/m strip to build that. The tutorial will be published step by step, each handling a topic.

My basic idea was that I wanted a Beacon on top of my backbox. Then I wanted a red one, and a blue one, and a yellow one, and a purple one. I want them all, but that would not fit so... This is a MX beacon with full color support by WS2812 LEDs!! There is DOF support already, but not many tables are configured (yet). Attached is STL files for 3D-printing and simple assembly info. Retroflair: DOFLinx MX Cabinet Edition Witness a modern light show in a retro theme, thanks to the new DOF addressable led MX support in DOFLinx 5.20! A video demonstration in my cabinet can be seen here: This table have the complete cabinet feedback and lighting support for the following: - 10 solenoids for flipper, slingshots, bumpers, etc.. - 5 RGB flashers - Blower Fan - Shaker - Gear motor - Strobe - Beacon - Start button - Coin button - Launch Ball button - RGB Undercab Lighting - Addressable leds Requirements: - DOF R3 installed (for DOFLinx cabinet feedback and lighting) and addressable leds already setup and working (for MX led effects). - DOFlinx 5.20 or higher is REQUIRED, even if you don't have addressable leds. - addressable leds are NOT required to play this table, but they are HIGHLY recommended. - to use the addressable leds with this table you must have your DOF "config" files updated by using DOF Config Tool! (just like you would for Visual Pinball) To play a Future Pinball table with addressable leds support (DOFLinx MX): - update DOFLinx as per normal (must be 5.20 or higher). Make sure you copy over the new DOFLinx.vbs to "Future Pinball \ Scripts". - add DIRECTOUTPUTGLOBAL=c:\DirectOuput\Config\GLobalConfig_b2sServer.xml (assuming you have it there) to your DOFLinx.ini file. - download the awesomeness of a Future Pinball DOFLinx MX table - check DOF Config Tool to see if support for that table has been added to it yet (you will see FP tables start with "FP:") If there are no DOF commands showing for that table, its not supported yet. - "Generate" a new Config File (containing directoutputconfig30.ini in the zip) and copy the new files to your "DirectOutput \ Configs" folder. - play the epicness that is Future Pinball with DOFLinx cabinet feedback and addressable leds! DOFLinx 5.20+ download link: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=12318 Consult the DOFLinx guide included in the download link for more information on setting up DOFLinx.- 2 reviews

I built a 3-chime unit using two different brands of doorbells purchased on Amazon for under $40, total. A few pieces of scrap wood and some miscellaneous hardware are all that are required. This is a pretty easy weekend project that greatly enhances your table if you play EM games. Note: This assumes you already have DOF running and have driver hardware for toys and this is just an additional toy to be connected and configured. Below is a 26-page pdf file with instructions (lots of photos) and a video of the chime unit in operation so you can see and hear it prior to deciding to build one for yourself. -Enjoy Chime Demo1.mp4 Instructions: DIY Chime Unit.pdf

View File TimeLord (Original 2022) - Avago- DOF, nFozzy/Roth physics, Fleep Sounds & Luts Avago present to you the Time Lord pinball game. The Avago Team are JP Salas- Game framework, playfield objects , testing & final scripting Gedankekojote97- nFozzy/Roth physics, Fleep sounds, Luts, Ramp textures & dynamic ball shadows Crackers & Mozzie- Table production team and testing Outhere-DOF Wheel by Vtdmame RusstyT- Table graphics,Game Design, scripting, callouts, Project lead, *************************************************************************** For those people with 7:1 sound setups and are experiencing problems with allocation of Backglass Sounds to the table please see the note I left in the review. I am unable to find clear instructions on how to install Direct Output Formatter in my FX3 Windows 10 system. I've looked here, on vpforums, and on vpuniverse. They have ones for visual pinball, etc, but are confusing because they don't directly apply to FX3 unless you are able to translate the directory names & structure - making it easy to mess up. Existing tutorials don't directly address pinball FX3, installation, Can someone help? Thanks.

In preparation for an upcoming build, I was going-through the DOF docs and wiki and was wondering, if I could create an Addressable RGB Flipper pair + Addressable RGB Left- and Right-Magnasaves from WS2812s. I'm thinking so, since there are MX types for these. So, out of curiosity, I started checking-out the stats to see which, and how many tables were using the MX types. I was surprised that the number of tables between the regular Flippers and MX Flippers were so different; not sure if this is because they need to be coded in the table scripts, or if someone hasn't yet coded/colored it on the DOF site. I have attached an Excel Spreadsheet noting the differences. What is also a bit unusual (if it's just a matter of entering into the DOF site, is that there are some tables where there is an MX type, but not the regular RGB type, and there are also some tables where the color is different between the two--Cosmic Princess comes to mind, and I think both are actually wrong. I think the color is supposed to be white for the flips (as per photos), but the RGB is YELLOW and the MX is BLUE (I think that's because the flyer has a blue hue to it). MAGNASAVE LEFT RGB missing 1 (i.e., Magnsave Left MX has this) MAGNASAVE LEFT MX missing: 11 MAGNASAVE RIGHT RGB missing 3 MAGNASAVE RIGHT MX missing 14 FLIPPERS RGB missing 5 FLIPPERS MX missing 77 Not sure if this is a mountain of work to get the MX versions in-sync with the regular versions, but these are what I noticed DOF_Button_Spreadsheet.xlsx
