I have always loved the cult classic 1981 movie Heavy Metal, and have thought the game produced by Rowamet in 1981 never did the animation justice. There's so much to pull from, yet I found the game feels cheaply produced and quickly slapped together. This game being quite rare with very limited photos available, I found that it is actually an exact copy of the Tatio De Brasil Game "Vortex" which is also in turn, al almost an exact copy of the 1980 Wiliams game "Blackout". With that in mind, what I've created for you is a reimagining of the original Rowamet game. I've based this game on the great JPSala's Vortex table as I'm told me had input from some of the orginal people who built that game, as well as taken some design cues from Blackout. The table has been gone over top to bottom, and retrofitted to work with the original Heavy Metal romset, and adding all the bells and whistles built by the VPW team, including, nFozzy, fleep sounds, rothbauerw code for drop targets, wobble, bumpers, animations etc. I've done a complete graphical overhaul, with brand new playfield art, fonts, plastics and more. I've gone through the 4k remaster of the film and pulled out frame sequenced that I've stitched together to make a majority of the artwork. Some AI was used for the main Taarna image but, kept to minimum. All new toys were added that represent key features of the film, including the B17 "Pacific Pearl", The 1957 corvette from the opening sequence, and the house loc-nar is narrating from. There are 2 built in options for music (which can be cycled with the left magna save), the original OST, as well as an alternate Metal soundtrack. I've tried to keep things authentic as possible and kept the alt soundtrack to the 1980's. Please note the screen on the apron corresponds to the currently playing track, so you may need to adjust the camera if you'd like to see the feature. I've built somewhat of a basic PUP intended for FullDMD featuring some nicely restored scenes from the original film that I think add some great immersion, if you have a 3 screen setup, I would highly recommend as that's how I intended for this to be played. I'd like to thank many members of the VPW team (including Apophis, Tomate, Flupper1, MechaEnron, Burger and many more) who helped me immensely getting the table through VLM, getting the physics in order, pup, code, vr, and testing. I'm also including a template to make new title cards for the music display screen if you'd like to add/mix in your own tracks. That's it, have fun! ****IMPORTANT**** - NVram installation Open nvram folder inside your VpinMAME folder and delete any existing copy of "heavymtl.nv" Extract both heavymtl.nv AND heavymtl.nvb from the zip, into your nvram folder. This game's rom, like all taito de brasil and rowamet games, is programmed to resume where you left off when the power is cut then restored. This is not an issue for a real life table as you'd rarely walk away when a ball is still in play, but for virtual this can be quite annoying. When you quit, the game is intended to keep you progress so when you start the game again, it will resume with score, balls left in play, etc. For this reason I have, with the help of claude, restored the previously working NVram patch to mitigate this effect and play as other games are played, resetting score, and balls after each reset, but keeping credits and high schore intact. Currently this only works on windows and VPX utilizing vpinmame, if you are using 10.8.1 WITH the vpinmame plugin, this feature will be disabled by default. -

I've been playing this game for around 11 months now and I must say this is one of the best game companies. I respect them more than any other out there right now. They are not predatory like many companies are. They put so much tender loving care in what they create. This game is constantly evolving with so much cool content, I'll be playing it for years I'm pretty sure. You should be too! There is currently a pretty epic free character for this month only with the recent CD Projekt Red/Kuro Games Wuwa/Cyberpunk Collaboration. 1. Pup-Pack is required, sorry no exceptions. This is PupDMD. Place WuWa pup pack folder into your pupvideos folder then select the pupoption that matches your setup best. 2. F12 Menu Page 2 contains useful options such as music volume control (i use 90%), and lightning sound effects (i like them on), glow balls etc etc 3. Select your character with magna buttons before launching the ball, the character you choose changes everything, the clips/music etc etc. 4. Character select can and regularly does occur Mid-Game so be ready for that, when you hear "select a resonator", choose with flippers and plunger switch. 5. Please when you're mid-game...... switch characters when you are prompted..... you miss out on a lot of points by not having your character selected, be strategic. Don't just leave it idling on character select screen. It's what you have to be doing to be playing the table right. Toying with putting 8 second auto selection when “mid-game” then you would just need to have the character highlighted Massive Thanks to @Tombg Back around November I privately pitched this idea for a new table to Tom and he graciously accepted! Such a great experience! I am officially Tom's new pup-video slave forever now! I knew there was one creator that had the skills to pull something like this off! Our beloved Mistress of the Dark has Returned! This is just an extension for @versins77and @marty02's beautiful tables! @lipebellowill be uploading his new updated table version with "pup version" in the name, to be compatible with this pup!!! Zero changes other than pupevent numbering. Requires the new table files with pupevent added, the ONLY changes are the actual pupevent numbering to the table files. Be aware this a ROM, and for some reason not all the pupcaptures will trigger correctly for this particular table, its a ROM quirk that can't be avoided. Those pupcapture Triggers are disabled for now. I need help finding the pupevent equivalents if anyone gets some time, i don't think they exist. All Clips have been recropped and rescrutinized, 30 FPS naturally. Use VPX 10.8, 10.7.4 works also. Right Magna Changes Music anytime. If it doesnt work , you are using the wrong table file. "Gonna take you back to the past!" New Version up, delete the old, I wanted to clean this up a little. I have only ever tested this with the mm_10 ROM. This is a pupcapture powered ROM pup so make sure your dmd is loading properly or you will get no triggers. I am curious what ROM's will work, the profanity rom wasn't loading the DMD for me. You can Shave off some pup size by sacrificing some vids from the gameover folder which serves as the attract randomizer folder for this pup, or expand it to the threshold of total madness! This project started in April '21 when EBisLit obtained a full set of new plastics for TNA for scanning, and gtxjoe started updating the script of the original v1.0 release with numerous fixes and rolling in both nfozzy physics and fleep audio, supported by Scott Danesi who provided the original DMD media, TNA light animations and sound effects. Over the next 2 years the table was worked on by a number of people in the community changing and updating nearly everything, bringing it as close in line with the real table as possible, including programming the light shows and now using the original machines video. What you see is the culmination of thousands of man hours of development, we're super happy with it, and hope you will be too! (and yes it's meant to be that hard!) TABLE MUSIC =========== This VPX table **does not** come with the TNA soundtrack. If you are a table creator, I'm pestering you too..... right now! If you feel me, please put it on your to do list! Tron is epic! I'd do a pup for it to whatever parameters you want, I'm at your command, disposal, and secrecy! I guess a new rom Reskin would be cool too, as long as it's a pup friendly rom. 2. Tron's highly sentimental to me personally.... when I was a little kid the Tron arcade unit was always to most impactful and visually stunning arcade unit I would play as a kid, and the movie.... needless to say.... i wanna bring it to pinball for all of us Tron dorks! Not to mention, used to play Tron Deadly Discs on the freaking Intellivision as a kid. 3. If you want to Change the Attract from the Tron 3 Ares attract I elected to roll with despite the watermark which we can't do anything about then make sure you also change the appropriate "kill attract triggers" for the corresponding "screen 4" filename of the attract you want to use. You change the attract in pupeditor Triggers Tab. The watermark is a small price to pay, the nostalgia and pump you up factor was way too high! I asked the tron 3 attract creator for a non-watermarked version for pinball table purposes, hopefully hear back from him soon. 4. Updates with more callouts are comin pretty soon for this. I was originally gonna have the tron 2 clips in a seperate folder to OPTIONALLY add to the pup, but after playtesting.... it's too cool with them in it, so elected to leave them in by default.... there's always a delete button if you wanna remove tron 2 clips. There's clips on the first trigger after ball launch that are NO WHERE else in the pup. I know how impatient you are to launch ball the first millisecond it's an option! Known issues 1. Normal ball lost is not seperated from multiball lost yet.....its unfortunate i know (code will need to be added to the table I think) 2. There's clips for multiball mode in the pup but disabled right now(think I need code added to table for this in particular) 3. Very rarely happens and can't pinpoint why.... music won't start on the first ball.... after that it's good the rest of the time playing. IDK 4. Clips disabled in the pup for activating on DMD mini-Game. Can't find the right spot to add events There's one Easter Egg clip in there that clearly does not belong! Can you find it! I'm leaving it! ================================================================ IT Pinball Madness - Pennywise Edition (PuP Pack) ================================================================ Hey everyone, Releasing my Pennywise PuP pack for IT Pinball Madness. First and foremost, full credit and thanks to: - jpsals - original creator of IT Pinball Madness - Nailbuster for testing and DOF fix - TeamTuga-pedro pires. pedro peres , mario Paulo Without their work this would not exist. All I have done is wrap Pennywise around the great pinball game they already made. ---------------------------------------------------------------- WHY I MADE THIS ---------------------------------------------------------------- I did not want to just throw movie clips on the backglass and call it a PuP pack. There are plenty of those already and they get old fast - the same five clips loop, nothing reacts to what you are actually doing on the playfield, and after a game or two you stop noticing it. I wanted Pennywise to feel like he is actually watching you play. So instead of pulling clips from the movie I generated 221 voice videos of Pennywise speaking custom lines, mapped to specific game events - drains, tilts, ball saves, combos, lock-is-lit, extra ball, jackpots, multiball, the lot. He taunts you when you drain. He laughs when you tilt. He notices when you save a ball. On top of that there are 11 idle reaction clips that randomly cycle on the backglass during attract and between events, so even when nothing is happening he is still there - blinking, smiling, tilting his head, staring. The voices were generated and then animated frame-by-frame so the mouth actually matches what he is saying. The idle clips were done separately. None of it is repurposed movie footage. My wife refuses to play it because she thinks it is too scary. I fully expect that there will be a new table file coming at some point, I just need 15-30 minutes with the table file to insert all the pupevent in spots and can reupload the table file. 3. Shaken not stirred? Delete the old pup and table file completely, kept name the same for popper purposes. Had to recrop and reprocess everything, it's all normalized to 1080p and will run and look smoother now. Added a Bottom Topper Attract for more eyecandy and another callout. 1. A "-1" second "rest delay" MAY need to be added to the Ball Launch Clip "screen 4" for new ball launch clip trigger. Need playtest if you arent getting the ball launch clips on balls 2 and 3. Ball 1 is fine. Simple fix but may need to change that when I know if it's an issue. ________________________ Just an attempt to bring the movie to the table! Resize them to fit perfect, quit table, then save table..... I'm no master of fixing the table to fit perfectly, so I may have to get someone to save a POV that looks perfect, send it to me, and i'll reupload the table file with the new point of view imported. 2. All credit goes to @Dr.Nobody for making a wide assortment of overlays for Star Wars pups, I figured why not use ALL of them, instead of just one!! No need to switch overlays manually, it will switch automatically during gameplay!! 1. This pup is designed for 3 screen cabinet setups for people NOT using b2s's. There's too many clips to cram into 1 cabinet screen. These are ROM based pups. I've been wanting to do a near complete clip pull on the original star wars trilogy movies for a long time and figured why not do it right now. Most, prolly 70% of these clips took a LOT of frame and audio editing to get them worthy to put into a pup, which I expected before even tackling this project. I wanted to have a complete set of original trilogy clips for the future tho for whatever craziness the future holds, which is what started me on this project. This pup will work with any table using the corresponding ROM's. (swtril43 or stwr_107 ROM) This will/can be modifiable for any future star wars tables creators make, i wanted a near complete set of good clips that could work for any future star wars tables if using movie clips for triggers. Hit me up and i'll code it from scratch for any creator making a NEW star wars table with whatever parameters and discretion you would like!
