  10. Stern Pinball 30th Anniversary Infographic Collection

    This is a re-upload from vpinball.com.

As part of Stern Pinball's 30th anniversary celebration, Stern began posting a series of infographics on Facebook to highlight each production table they were involved with from their beginnings when they were known as Data East to their transition to Sega Pinball and then to Stern Pinball. From 1987 to 2016. From Laser War, the first Data East table to Ghostbusters.

Sadly, I guess Stern's interest in the project went away about halfway through. I checked back occasionally for about a year, but the posts end with table 38, Viper Night Drivin'. However, the information they do provide is unique and interesting. There are even entries for a couple of tables that did not make it into production: King Kong and Total Recall.

The archive has two series: one with just the infographic (unaltered and extracted from the page source) and the second are HD resolution screenshots of the infographic along with the content of the associated Facebook post which has even more trivia.

I've published a couple of these infographics before as flyer images within HyperPin Media Packs that I have posted: Star Wars Trilogy and WWF Royal Rumble. Now, enjoy the whole collection. It's suitable for use as additional flyer images in whatever front-end setup you use.

The collection also includes 30th anniversary poster image thanks to IPDB.org and some work I did to trace the 30th anniversary logo to vector format for a Ghostbusters promotional card (Adobe Illustrator).

  15. Star Wars (Data East 1992) Media Pack

I made reproductions available on the PinballX FTP, but I found that for the factory PDF hosted by Inkochnito, Acrobat had automatically replaced Helvetica with Arial. Yes, they are close but Arial is not Helvetica! This pack has a new version of the factory PDF with the correct font and Star Wars and Data East logos replaced with vector-based versions. No change required for Inkochnito's own reproduction. Edits and assembly used Illustrator. Appropriate coinage card also included.
    Helvetica fonts obtained at ephifonts.com.
Data East vector-based logo based on one created by Tapule available at http://vectorlib.free.fr.
Star Wars logo extracted from the Star Wars Trilogy vector-based logo obtained at seeklogo.com. This in turn was used to create an ultra hi-rez wheel image.
300dpi scans of the flyer courtesy

Stern published a series of infographics on Facebook celebrating 30 years of business. I included the one for Star Wars. There are two versions, one with some extra trivia and the other is just the infographic. Both included. I use these as additional flyer images.
Special thanks to Inkochnito for hosting the factory PDFs.

  16. Star Wars Trilogy (Sega 1997) Media Pack

The factory PDF is available at Inkochnito's but there is an alternate version that describes the Skill Shot, so I reproduced that one based on photos I took on a recent visit to a local arcade.  And I refreshed the factory PDF version, replacing logos with vector-based versions prior to export to Flash. I found that on my old version of the card on the PinballX FTP Acrobat had substituted a different font for what was supposed to be displayed. So, I fixed that as well. Type and layout of the Skill Shot rule completed using InDesign. Edits and assembly used Illustrator. The promo card is included. I did not retrace the line art on the logo card. That's beyond what I can attempt. Coinage cards also included.
    Helvetica fonts obtained at ephifonts.com.
Sega Pinball vector-based logo based on one I created. Details here:

Star Wars Trilogy vector-based logo obtained at seeklogo.com. This in turn was used to create an ultra hi-rez wheel image.
Extracted a high rez wheel image from a movie poster hosted at starwars.wikia.com. Cleaning and effects in GIMP.

I also included flyer scans from nypinball.com. The quality may be better.

Thanks to Pinballz for having the machine available. Thanks to marcospecialties.com for the reference image of the promo card.
Special thanks to Inkochnito for hosting the factory PDFs.

This video is made from the game's backglass plus a clip from the cursed 1975 British GP.  Who would have guessed that running racing slicks in the rain might be a problem?

The audio is a combination of race commentary plus the 1975 track "Buzzard" by Armageddon.

  21. Stripping Funny (Inder 1974) - Loading

    Format: 1080p60

I don't really get the backglass on this table or the name of the table for that matter.  I've never played pool on a table that was so big you had to crawl onto it to make shots, but whatever.  I'd be really interested to know the background of the creation of this table, but I haven't found anything online that is very enlightening.

This video is made from the game's backglass plus a lot of cleanup work.  The audio is provided by AI:  The melody was generated by giving MusicGen the prompt "Stripping Funny" and then I lengthened the available material by asking MusicGen to continue the melody with the prompt "a 1970s Bossa Nova theme for a scene of people playing pool on a very large pool table" and this is what I got.  It's weird and not completely coherent, kind of like the backglass.

  22. Super Soccer (Gottlieb 1975) - Loading

    Format: 1080p60

"Super Soccer" is the 4-player version of Gottlieb's "Soccer," so the artwork is very similar, and I have created similar videos.  In this version the video clip is from the final game of the 1974 World Cup, in which West Germany beat the Netherlands 2-1.  The goal shown here is the game winner.
