  1. Airport (Gottlieb, 1969) JB

Touch-up with some vector parts. "Airport" is the 2 Player version of "College Queens", which I uploaded some days ago. I think, "College Queens" is an extremely ugly back glass, but I really like this one! Artist is again Art Stenholm. Too bad, that there are nearly no 1 or 2 player games in Germany. This one would be a keeper. Game play is nice. First time usage o vario targets.

  2. Mustang (Chicago Coin, 1964) JB

Another combo of vector and touch up. I think, this a a great back glass! IPDB doesn't mention the artist, but this is a winner! Based on a picture I took at the PHOF end of last year. Tim sometimes puts stickers on the back glasses to give some info about the game (which is nice, but please not ON the BG!!), so I had to find some other pics to add the missing parts. Attached is the original picture.

  3. Big Deal (Williams, 1977) JB

Another competitor for the trophy of the ugliest pinball back glass ever. Don't know who did the original art, IPDB doesn't mention it and I don't care. It's a touch-up only, I did not want to spend 20h+ on a vector version. But this was one of the games I fixed lately, so I could take some good pictures and had to do at least a touch up, in case someone here needs the back glass for a VP.

  4. Wild Wheels (Bally, 1966) JB

Another rough and dirty touch up. I took the picture 2 or 3 years ago, when my iPhone could not take pictures in raw format. Original art by George Molentin. I think, it's a very nice BG.

  5. Ice-Revue (Gottlieb, 1965) JB

Just a rough and dirty touch-up. The base picture was not very good (note to myself: (always raw format, never jpg!)). But I like the BG, another Roy Parker design.

  7. College Queens (Gottlieb, 1969) JB

Combination of touchup and vector. I have the real machine right now here at home to fix it and took the chance to scan the back glass. I decided against doing it in full vector, since I just think, it's too ugly to spend 20h of time on it. The art by Art Stenholm is really bad in my opinon. The 2 player version of this game "Airport" (also done by Art Stenholm) is very nice, but this one sucks. But I had to do at least a touchup, maybe someone needs it for a VP. Back glass itself is in pretty good shape, this mainly happens to me, when I don't like it... 🙂

  8. Star-Jet (Bally, 1963) JB

Completely re-drawn as vector graphic by me. This was a tough one. The fantastic artwork of George Molentin is far more complex than the one from my favorite artist Christian Marche. It took me some evenings to complete. Attached is the vector view of the complete back glass and and details view of the girl in the front.

  9. Big Shot (Gottlieb, 1973) JB

2 player version of "Hot Shot". Again a combo of touchup and vector. IPDB shows this one as a 1974 release, while "Hot Shot" is 1973.

This was an easy one. Original art by Jerry Kelley, who did the "pointy people" even before Christian Marche. But I like Marche's art better.

  11. Hot Shot (Gottlieb, 1973) JB

This is a combination of touch-up and vector graphic. I don't like that back glass very much, but a friend of mine has that game, so I could take good pictures, reason enough to do it.

Re-drawn as vector graphic by me. This game is very rare, so there are no good pictures out there. I tried my best.

If there would be a competition for the most ugliest back glass in Pinball history, I bet this would be in the top ten. Please see the attached picture of the vector file.

  15. Double-Up (Bally, 1970) JB

I uploaded a touched up version of this BG some weeks ago. It was ok, but a vector version is better. That's was a very easy one, took just one evening to complete. See a picture of the vector version attached.

  16. Time Tunnel (Bally, 1971) JB

Completly re-drawn as vector graphic by me.
This was a tough one, not for the vector part (that was pretty straight forward and not really difficult), but for finding good source pictures. That machine is very rare and I could not find a real good picture. So some details might not be 100%, there was some (educated...) guessing. See picture of the vectors attached.

  20. Gold Rush(Williams, 1971)JB

This is the US version of "Jackpot". The game was called "Jackpot" for export markets and "Gold Rush" for the US and Canada (based on IPDB). They are basically exactly the same, just with a different name (also in a different color, but for the Williams logo above the color is unchanged) and a small modification of the black tree close to the head of the larger guy.

Touch up of  picture I've taken at the Pinball Hall of Fame in Vegas 2 weeks ago. Camera/file format used: iPhone 14 pro, "raw" format. Software used: Affinity Photo.

Based on the info at ipdb.org (link in the "Tags" section), there are several versions of this BG, most of them w/o the "Former Hi-Score" part.
