IT Pinball Madness - Pennywise Edition (PuP Pack)
================================================================

Hey everyone,

Releasing my Pennywise PuP pack for IT Pinball Madness.

First and foremost, full credit and thanks to:
 - jpsals - original creator of IT Pinball Madness
 - Nailbuster for testing and DOF fix

 - TeamTuga-pedro pires. pedro peres , mario Paulo

Without their work this would not exist. All I have done is wrap
Pennywise around the great pinball game they already made.

----------------------------------------------------------------
WHY I MADE THIS
----------------------------------------------------------------

I did not want to just throw movie clips on the backglass and call
it a PuP pack. There are plenty of those already and they get old
fast - the same five clips loop, nothing reacts to what you are
actually doing on the playfield, and after a game or two you stop
noticing it.

I wanted Pennywise to feel like he is actually watching you play.

So instead of pulling clips from the movie I generated 221 voice
videos of Pennywise speaking custom lines, mapped to specific game
events - drains, tilts, ball saves, combos, lock-is-lit, extra
ball, jackpots, multiball, the lot. He taunts you when you drain.
He laughs when you tilt. He notices when you save a ball.

On top of that there are 11 idle reaction clips that randomly
cycle on the backglass during attract and between events, so even
when nothing is happening he is still there - blinking, smiling,
tilting his head, staring.

The voices were generated and then animated frame-by-frame so the
mouth actually matches what he is saying. The idle clips were
done separately. None of it is repurposed movie footage.

My wife refuses to play it because she thinks it is too scary.
I am taking that as a five star review.

----------------------------------------------------------------

With a little Modiification got it working on VisualPinball Standalone Mobile Android.

Needed to add a Line with "Const default = 0" top of the Script, without getting Script Errors.

Then i change the Backglass Flasher to use external Renderdevice and assigned the Backglass.

This way i was able to play the Puppack on the Backglass.

Genuinely Very Creepy, especially the TILT Jump Scare haha.

An innovative use of a Pup Pack, must have been so much work to get all that lip syncing right. Good Job.

Very well done. Its hard to concentrate with pennywise staring at you.(in a great and creepy way!) Waiting for him to jump out of the screen! This is a very great idea for a pup pack! Installation was a breeze and no hiccup in play. Thank you for this very fun and innovative version of this puppack!  Bravo!

Very nice.. GREAT IDEA... i love pennywise and the animations are awesome.. BUT i think that the constant zoom in and out caused by the video and the cown glaring in, which i understand is there for dramatic effect, does take away from the pup slightly.

Would be nice if he wouldnt zoom like that and maybe just looked down at the table while playing and then made a comment when a trigger is hit.

Also.. after you lose a game, the animation of him looking down sad, gets stuck and plays over and over which seems worse than the zoom.

Great first start though, love it

Amazing!  Your idea for this pup is brilliant.  I hadn't played the table until just now.  The table is great but with the pup it's just so fun to play.

Thanks for doing this.  It's really makes the game fun.

Incredible work on this DeBo26!  I agree that having a video loop on the backglass doesn't always add to the experience of a table, but in fact can detract from it.  This, on the other hand, it's as if Pennywise is watching every move while playing!  Very cool and innovative approach.

I was actually mod'ding the original IT table the past couple days.  This definitely takes it to the next level ... Thanks for sharing this with us!  Hoping others implement something similar to further immersion.

5 Stars, A+++, Great seller .. hope to do business again in the future (sorry wrong window!)

I was honestly hesitant on this one, as I enjoy the other Pup pack for this table and also a simple backglass version with JP's original table. But I'm really glad I downloaded this and gave this a shot. It's so very well done and may just be my new favorite version of this table. Thank you so much!

Just like the original IT  Pinball Madness, You have to manually choose AVR option which is the only way that I play by the way, And when you get into VR it only shows the static backglass. I know this is because the original IT Pinball Madness was not designed with a pup in mind... I thought it was a very good idea that you used a different pup name than the other pup pack because I figured I can use both now and I even tried using the modified version I have of it Pinball Madness but even when renaming the pup pack in the script to Pennywise It will not call your pup and I know this is because your table is the only one with the triggers for your pup pack but I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place I can't use my modified version and I can't use your version either I guess I'm leaving a 5 star review because I'm sure it's really cool I just would really would like to see it,lol

Response from the author:

Thanks for the review and for understanding the situation — it's a really specific bind and you've nailed the diagnosis.

You're right on both counts:

VR limitation: The base IT Pinball Madness table's VR mode renders a static backglass from within the VR room scene and doesn't hook into PuP output at all. My pack adds PuP triggers on top, but can't override how the original table handles VR — that would need changes to the VR rendering code in the table itself. I don't run VR on my cab so I wasn't able to test or fix that side. Honest limitation.

Your modified version: Also correct — the pack loads from the Pennywise folder, but the triggers (the PuPEvent calls on drains, tilts, combos, etc.) are script-level and only exist in my modified VPX. Renaming the folder reference in your script points it at my pack folder, but without the trigger calls themselves, nothing fires.

There's a path forward if you want it: I can send you the list of PuPEvent trigger calls I added and where they go in the script. You'd merge those lines into your VR-modified version, keep the rest of your customizations, and then the Pennywise pack would work with your setup. It's maybe 30-40 line insertions across the script. Not trivial, but doable if you're comfortable diffing VBScript.

Let me know if you want that. Thanks again for the rating and the thoughtful writeup.
