Are you ready race fans?

Indianapolis 500 is a hidden gem released in 1995 from Bally.

There was a previous VPX version from Dozer/Sheltemke/Flupper (version 1.20) that looked amazing.  The version just needed to be upgraded to some of the newer physics / sounds and other VPW enhancements to put that final polish on the surface.

Scripting Improvements:
* nFozzy physics / sling corrections

* Fleep mechanical and ramp sounds (SSF)

* Dynamic Ball Shadows
* Flupper Domes (Better looking dome flashers)
* Playfield Mesh (more realistic saucer physics - Thanks Apophis!)
* VR Room (Thanks Sixtoe for the standalone VR Room assets!)
* Very basic lighting changes to add more contrast.

Gameplay Improvements:

* The previous version needed some very slight geometry tweaks to get a more accurate real machine feel as it was tested against a real machine locally.
* The difficulty level was increased a bit from the original version to also be more in line with what the real machine presents.
* The speed of the game is fast and furious.  Get your reflexes ready!

Commendations:
Thanks to the original Bally team listed in the IPDB link for another one of their '90s pins that stand the test of time.

Thanks to the original authors, JPSalas/Dozer/Sheltemke/Flupper for a very solid recreation of this table.

Thanks to the VPW team and the following testers: PinStratsDan, PrimeTime5K, Colvert, Robby King Pin, BountyBob, Wylte, ClarkKent, Apophis, chugalaefoo, Smaug

Now... Enjoy Your Victory Laps!

What's New in Version 1.36   See changelog

Released

v1.36 is a small patch to the following features:

* Reversed the mini car direction to counter clockwise like the real machine (Thanks Cliffy / smileslikejoker)
* Sized the desktop blades / rails correctly. (Thanks Cliffy)
* Fixed a known lost ball area under left ramp that can rarely occur.
* Added a script option to change the color of the mini car in the top right circle track. (everybody loves hot wheels)

These updates have no effect on previous game play from version 1.34.  Just aesthetic mostly.

@TastyWasps has been hard at work learning new skills, and with each new machine update, things just get better and more accurate to the real table. Indianapolis 500 is a VERY rare machine that is not as well heard of as others, but has a incredible flow, awesome rules, and challenging play. Since most real pins are in the hands of private collector's it makes this one hard to find in the real world. Now we are brought that much closer to reality and real play.

Installation: No issues to report, grab a b2s and altcolor, and go! I also enjoyed using the Pinsound variation from WildDogArcade, which I got here: https://www.pinsound-community.org/index.php?/files/file/403-coyohtays-indianapolis-500-w-racing-themes/

Play: I don't think you are going to get any closer to the real thing than this effort. Shots are clean, orbits are tight (like the real thing), and the satisfaction one gets from revving up that Turbo is incredible. The rules are simple, fun, and rewarding. I had not spent much time on this in the past, but like Junkyard before this, I am blown away at the fun I am having.

Graphics: Some new Flupper Domes, Dynamic Ball shadows, and a new playfield mesh bring this incredible 4k work to life. If you load up the VR room, you are able to loose yourself in the pin.

Conclusion: With each release TastyWasps gets more and more detailed with the work, and it shows. I can say with confidence that if you grab this and load it up, you will NOT be disappointed! What the hech are you waiting for??!!?!?

Well done! Looks really good. Plays fast as advertised. I'd never seen this before so it was a real treat. Only little thing missing is a LUT adjustment option while the table is running. Other than that everything was top level.

Thank you!!!

TastyWasps did a fantastic job of making this table play rediculously (but realistically) fast and just a little bit tougher. I have a blast playing this where the version before felt like a chore. Great stuff!

Fantabulous, this was a great table to begin with and your additions have put it right up there with the best. It looks, plays and feels great!!  Especially in VR, thanks for that. Note to anyone playing VR with a Real DMD, you may have to change your DmdDevice.ini to read virtualDMD enabled=true and if you have lag this way, move the DMD from the playfield to the backglass if you have a cab setup. I know there are not many of us but this makes it playable for me. Tip, you can just add this to the DmdDevice.ini to make the change for this table only.
