Laser Cue (Williams 1984) is one of several Williams System 7 machines, and was in production with 2800 units. It's a game with 4 flippers, and unusual billiards in space theme. It's fun, fast, and challenging especially if you the option to put in to hard mode which will remove the guide rail by the lower right flippers. Todd Tuckey at TNT in one of his videos said this was the table he recommends to people that are learning pinball, and want to learn flippers, and general gameplay.
Version 3.0 was completely done from scratch, even though 2.0 was also done by UnclePaulie a few years ago, but the old one did not have a good playfield, had some issues with it, and gameplay wasn't accurate. So much has improved with VPW standards, physics, baking, etc. that an updated version was desired. This 3.0 version utilizes latest VPW standards, physics, alllamps and 3D inserts, backglass for desktop, roth targets, standalone compatibility, sling corrections, updated flipper physics, VR and fully hybrid. Baked GI, walls, Flupper style bumpers and lighting. Dozens of hours were spent studying gameplay videos to match the table shots and action.
@redbone spent a lot of time creating an accurate, high resolution playfield from web images.
Once again, I've included several options in the F12 menu including various balls, ball brightness, GI brightness, insert brightness, flippers, caps, matching plastic edge colors with pulsing option, ball selection, and other VR stuff, including LED undercab lighting. Redbone and I have also created an entirely new suite of ball choices such that it will be future compatible with 10.81 and on. The balls are now equirectangular, and included are various chrome, room environment reflections, glow balls, and an eight ball and cue ball.
For the ROM settings... The baseline comes pretty much correct except for the high score to date is defaulted to something high and the coins are defaulted to one credit is 3 games. I've included a .nvram file that will adjust the coin/credits to 1 coin is 1 credit. Also, I've set the default high scores to 100,000. NOTE: this table will reward you ONE credit for EACH score you beat in the display. Meaning beating 4th place, 3rd, 2nd, or 1st will earn credits. So, if you get 1st... you'll get 4 credits, as you beat all 4 display scores.
