This is my first attempt at a sound mod, so please provide whatever feedback you have to help me improve. I have little experience in sound editing and am equipped with 62-year-old ears. Even so, I like the results and hope that you will too! I love the @LoadedWeapon cabinet mod for this table, but I found the rom sounds too 8-bit for my tastes. My sound mod contains around 60 new samples direct from the motion picture or its soundtrack by the incomparable John Williams. All new and existing samples have been normalized. There are still a few music tracks that I haven't replaced, but the main ones are here. I particularly want to thank @iDigStuff and @MrGrynch for their work on the altsound improvements and g-sound format. iDigStuff also produced some very informative videos. His standard installation notes are included below. Thanks also to @lucky1 for his altsound editor (available on this website). The project was originally done in altsound format, but once it neared completion, I knew that it had to be converted to g-sound. I truly believe that just converting it made things work much better. Anyone is free to modify this work as they see fit providing they acknowlege this or subsequent versions by me as the basis for their work. Installation Notes: Place the download in your Altsound folder and set Altsound mode to 1 in Vpinmame table menu (F1). Included in the download, you'll find a convenient .CSV file, just like before, and now, a separate .ini file. No need to touch the included .ini file. Everything is set. The .ini is for authors and troubleshooting. -

Music, Classic Bedrock Style. I have assembled an altsound for "The Flintstones" that replaces all of the music scores with ones from the classic cartoon series. Everything else remains the same, as changing it would confuse the gameplay. I hope it is working properly. It really completes any cartoon version of this table. The most "creepy & kooky" vpx table has gotten a lot of love over the years. So, I thought I'd throw some more at it. I have replaced or remastered about 95% of the audio using movie clips and digital filters. Originally, I did this for my own satisfaction, but figured I would share it here as well. This is an altsound conversion of the amazing pinsound package by Julian42 featuring The Who's Tommy OST, and enhanced sounds. Does not required pinsound studio to play Instructions: unzip tomy_400 folder with files into vPinMAME/altsound folder (create the folder if you haven't already), start table, hit F1, and change alt sound mode to 1. Exit table and restart. Tip from AnTiBoDy: for the VPWorkshop version, rename the altsound directory from tomy_400 to tomy_500 Changes from original pinsound package: adjusted timing of Christmas to match start of lightshow, adjusted start of ball 3 song Issues: End of game song plays to completion over any new game. Update Info. It can be used with the new VPW Godzilla Table as well as previously mentioned Marty02 and Hauntfreaks Table(s) This is a direct replacement of Files for the Godzilla Altsound by Bbrice66. You will have to download the Altsound -Godzilla (Sega 1988) file from bbrice66. After unzip of bbrice66 Altsound place the files from this download into same folder and overwrite. This altsound can be used for the VPW Godzilla Table as well as the Tables by Marty02 or the mod table by Hauntfreaks to add additional enjoyment. You will even here the famous Raymond Burr quote. I created this altsound for Phantom of the Opera, to go with my reskin of TastyWasp's Phantom table. Table waiting on permission from tasty wasps. if running Phantom of the Opera pup pack you need to make a few changes. Alt sound add a to end. poto_a32a. set up an alias as poto_a32a,poto_a32. This way you have 2 separate games. -

Altsound 2.0 - The Sopranos (Stern 2005) Original | Normalized and Cleaned IMPORTANT: You must have RomSounds = 1 in the top of the script AND have Altsound enabled in VPinmame menu. This is not the default setting currently on The Sopranos table. Otherwise you are not hearing the Altsound. As the title says this version is a cleaned and normalized version of the original ROM sounds for Sterns Sopranos. The original rom sounds were very distorted and made the game basically unplayable. Now with TastyWasps update to the table and this Altsound fixing the peak distortion and clicks, the table should be much more enjoyable. I'm currently working on a completely new Altsound/G-Sound for this table as well. I thought it might be nice for everyone to have this version in the mean time. All future updates will be available through this post. Previous versions will stay up. -

This is an altsound in G-Sound format for Alien Star (Gottlieb 1984). I tried to tastefully do it without "overdoing it". Hopefully, you will enjoy. I feel like the game play sounds of targets, bumpers, and slings match the game and also some pretty dramatic endgame sounds that are pretty cool. @DarthVito said "I love the sfx you have when the ball loads up after a drain, very very cool. Almost don’t mind draining lol! " Hehe, I take that as a compliment and actually feel the same way. Cheers man! This has ended up being a culmination of original (pseudo stereo processed), replaced, and supplemented sounds that seem to go really good with this table. Please make sure you read the latest versions release notes nad update your VpinMame to a version that supports Gottlieb System 80A altsound processing. ***NOW FIXED*** see v4 release notes. Please note that some roms (like this one) appear to have a clocking pattern of sound calls that seem to get in the way of sound playback. You will probably experience some sounds not registering from time to time or even the background sounds not appearing at first, but them come in on the 2nd ball. 90% of the time it's all good though and some of the intermittent sounds missed aren't really that bad. I talked to @MrGrynch about this and hopefully one day there will be a modification to the altsound processing to drop these unnecessary calls. This rom in particular sends out a flood of calls to 0x000. When this happens, hopefully these sounds drops will stop. For now, this is what we have and I do hope you enjoy. Be on the lookout for @UnclePaulie's release of Alien Star and @hauntfreaks backglass. It's a fun table and where at all possible, I want to give @BorgDog much thanks for providing the graphic assets! This table would not have been possible if he didn't give permission to redo it and hand off his graphics like he did. Thank you kind sir! Let's try to put a little more "FUN" in Funhouse! This has always been one of my favorite tables. But let's face it, the sound has always been pretty messy. I have done my best to clean up good old Rudy's callouts and table sounds, but don't expect miracles. Glad to bring you my second g-sound project. This one has been in the works for quite a while. Sega tables have been tricky to decipher the way the MPU handles sound calls but I think I've finally figured it out. I try to recreate the original faithfully however if you find an issue please let me know in the comments. What does OST Remastered mean? Original Soundtrack remastered means I used the original source of the dialogue and soundtrack then edited to match the sound design of the original table as best I could. Altsound 2.0 - Ren and Stimpy Space Madness This is a very small altsound to supplement the existing pup (by@clairvius) and to add back a lot of the missing sounds that work well with the table Ren and Stimpy Space Madness theme. The original author removed virtually all of the table sounds since it was a reskin of Dr. Dude. While that makes perfect sense, it also left the sounds for the table lacking. That's why I'm releasing this supplemental altsound. The key to have the best possible experience is to balance the volume between the pup and altsound. There are multiple ways to do that. Whatever works best for your setup. There are a few extra steps on this install 1. Remove files from the pup pack "audio" folder. (I've already added these sounds to the altsound) 2. To use this altsound you need to re enable the rom sounds in the script. Line 239 Sound to 1 Line 240 Samples to 1 (this re enables the script to play the rom sounds) 3. You will still need to enable the altsound = 1 in the pinmame menu like normal as well. As always please report any issues in the COMMENTS section. If you don't get a response the answer is here in the write up. -

Balrog's theme starts quiet, but it does kick in about a minute into the battle, somewhere down the line I might revisit this altsound and edit the "Khazad-Dum" song so it kicks in once you start the Balrog fight. Unfortunately because I'm absolute bad at this table, I have only managed to check out some songs like Fellowship Multiball or the Ring Mission: Ents.
