“573… Be on the lookout. We’ve got a new VPW release on the loose.”

This one has been a looong time coming. A few years ago, gtxjoe stripped this mod of a mod down, added fleep sounds and nfozzy physics, dialed in the ramp—basically did all the VPX specific stuff with a special precision and flare only a VPX O.G. long time veteran like gtxjoe could do. Then Benji went on a long hiatus, possibly never to return.

Was Police Force to be on-hold forever? That’s what it looked like. But then…

Enter Niwak, revolutionizing VPX into the next era. And after seeing what could be done with the new light-baking with Blender Toolkit, Benji had to come back and finish what he started. First, he had to learn Blender. Uh…okay. But that turned out to be doable (with many tips from Tomate, Bord, Flux and more).

And with tons of help from this whole bang-up crew—this tool-kitted version of Police Force is finally out in the wild.

Special thanks to Jon Osborn who let Benji take apart, photograph, and measure a Police Force pin he was fixing up, which is what got this whole project moving forward.

This was the last thing I was expecting to see when checking in vpuniverse.

Police force!? VPW!? Niwak blender kit madness!? Screenshot literally looks photorealistic!? Sign me up! I was about to call it a night, buttt I think I might be a little more tired at work in the morning 😅🤷‍♂️

Thanks once again to the Avengers, I mean, VPW supergroup for creating another nostalgic, time capsule masterpiece that looks incredibly beautiful and lifelike. I want to just reach my hand under the glass and grab that little police car! So incredibly photorealistic and highly detailed, and looking as sharp as any VPX table ever.

The complete blender toolkit madness and having literally every. Sjngle. Texture. And physical item having baked in reflections and raytracing etc. Even the 3D light inserts have their own realistic reflections from their own light source and other flashy lights around it. It's just madness, beautiful, mesmerizing, and so damn fun to play and just look at in awe. Also this table seems to have a lot more depth and a deeper Z scale than most other recent VPW releases. Not sure if it was intentional because of the slightly odd top half of the playfield and that building on the left. Or if you will be doing similar scales to this for future releases. Either way, because of the farther depth combined with the blender, again.. madness, it really gives the table even more of a 3 dimensional look and depth. I'm playing on my cabinet, so I can only speak from that viewpoint however. But it truly is something to behold... Just like your last 5-7 releases with Niwaks toolkit. I've seen enough now to confidently say the Niwak blender toolkit and VPX lightmapper are game changers for sure. And each subsequent VPW release just keeps getting better and better, and looking better than ever. As the crew learns to use it efficiently over time and discovers new tricks and updates to further hone in their craft.

Last action hero, Johnny Mnemonic and now Police Force .. what a trio. All Of them are incredible pinball recreations and beautiful time capsules that will stand the test of time. Thanks once again VPW gang and any other friends that helped contribute to this release. You should all be incredibly proud! You all deserve thanks. Now take a much needed little break after this! Enjoy the fruits of your labor and the joy your releases bring to so many of us.

Now go and play some pinball! 😉

SHIT!

STUNNING. Haunt warned me- "just wait till you see what's coming" I would not, could not have imagined this spectacular, gushworthy gem. I bow in @VPinWorkshops general direction- again. The lighting, the ball handling physics, the freaking butter smooth swing of the spin target as it settles to a stop- OMG. The mind-blowing visuals! I'm embarrassed to post a static screenshot. A single screenshot cannot do this baby justice (take me to the slammer!) This thing MUST be played to be believed. Thanks to everyone involved for sharing the *finest* work ever dreamed. Head up to the dias and take your well deserved place of honor!

Nevertheless, thousands thanks to all magicians involved to let us play this!

I'm not sure how every new release always amazes me. It's like, I should be used to this by now, right?

I didn't know this table (i don't know most anyway) but my point is, you guys seem to cherry pick them to not just present a great work, but do so with a great table.

Thanks.

Solution to the blurry thing: ive just played some other tables with vpx.7, then went back to vpx8 and started PoliceForce again - no more blurry playfield and Police Station, its all there in all its crystal clear glory. Strange, or what?

I have seen the magic happen in front of my eyes when I just joined the team. Also saw the almost unlimited attempts to get it looking like it does now. Such a great effort you guys have put into this, it cannot be expressed with words alone. Thanks for being awesome as usual!
