Black Knight (Williams 1980) Instruction Card

    By Frank_Enstein

And if 1980 needed more proof that it was the year for pinball innovation, it also brought us the OG Black Knight.
The first magna save, the first upper playfield, the first faceted inserts... some say Black Knight lifted the bar for pinball, while Black Knight said: what bar? or more precisely: The Black Knight will slay you!

    Xenon (Bally 1980) Instruction Card

    By Frank_Enstein

While Gorgar was technically the first pinball to introduce voice, and Firepower was the first to bring multi-ball (to solid states), Xenon was the first machine that I HAD a chance to ever play and it had BOTH! 🤯
1980 was truly a year of new horizons for pinball, a true beginning of a new era.

If these were instructions for the actual sport this card would have been very simple: Drive Fast, Turn Left, but fortunately the pinball version is way more interesting.

Some will say, the greatest pinball table ever built and that may be true, at least if you go by total sale numbers. Personally the only complaint I have with it is that it arrived a year too early. If only it came out AFTER the ball save feature was introduced, it would have certainly made my top 10 at the least.
This way its a prior century torture machine, plunge, outlane, have a nice day... yet, for the 20.000 masochists out there, here comes (another) instruction card for it. Enjoy!

Call me boomer, but the 90s were the golden era of pinball and gave us some of the finest machines.

I could not decide on yellow/red or red/yellow, so putting the burden on you guys.
    Make your own choice!

p.s. The rule card represents the real table rules, while JP's version only covers a subset of the ruleset. This card is my scream to the universe that one day we have the full ruleset.
