1. sternpinball.com - Support - Game Code - AC/DC - download "AC/DC LE 1.70.0 GAME CODE"

2. Rename file to acd_170h.bin

2a. Make sure that you can see file extensions. The default Windows behavior hides the file extension. acd_170h.bin.BIN will not work

3. Compress to a zip file. Compressing to RAR will not work.

4. Copy the zipped file to your VPinMAME/roms folder

Zip information saved my life. I haven't noticed that part. Thanks a lot! It worked like butter.

I have done  all this, still says rom missing and game terminated.  Using vpinmame the game works.

Fantastic table.

I'm running into the following,  while playing "Hells Bells" when I hit the 🔔,  the flippers drop dead and the mini playfield starts,  as a result my ball is lost, after the mini playfield ends the table starts counting bonus as of end of ball and doesn't return my ball.

Spitting true the gamerules I learned that the mini playfield should only start when the ball is shot into the saucer behind the 🔔,  so it looks like the table does a false detection of the ball in the saucer, anyone a solution for that?

Hi all,

1. Thanks to VPW team for this great update, still one of my favourite tables.

2. I feel like I'm still missing some lights though - for example, the big red flasher above the cannon never seems to light up for me.  Pretty sure I have the correct ROM (using the colour patch though - 170hc) and I notice the related DOF addressable LEDs light up when they should for this flasher...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try updating your version of vpinmame. Get the latest 10.8.0 RC here and get the two bottom files in Actions. Make sure to get the -sc versions.  https://github.com/vpinball/pinmame/actions/runs/8256416026

You need a free github account to download.

Make sure to backup your vpmaliast.txt or just do not allow the one in the zips to overwrite yours.

Once unzipped run setup.exe and check paths are correct then click install. Do the same with setup64.exe

EDIT- Maybe hold off on the new rev 896 vpinmame. I just ran acdc luci vpw 1.0.2 and crashed on the fire button.  It was working last night on rev 888 so look back in Actions and use that one for now

Hey - that did the trick! Lights running properly now and seems a few other minor things are better now also....

Many thanks!      \m/    \m/

Hi

Are you still using rev 888? I installed 906 and the table crashes. Also noticing some sound issues when playing Scared Stiff with this version too...

Thanks - I didn't realise how often they were updated - i'll try it. I had updated to the one Uncle Paulie linked to (vpinmame 906) in the Alien Star thread. The altsound for that table improved but then realised issues with Scared Stiff and ACDC....

I am getting a buzz when the red flasher by the cannon lights up.  Is this normal behavior?

I'm using x64 VPX 10.8.0-1975-05114c with vpinmame 3.6.0-998-a772c52

Is there any way to move the DMD position? OR hide it?

* Found the solution to hide it through the scripts.

Hi. I went through all the discussion, but didn't find similar reports. I just installed the VPX 10.8; and some of the lights in this table are flashing erratically, maybe the most typical one being the Jam multiball. Not sure, but it looks like that some of the lights are stuck in a similar state as they are before pressing the start button when they do demo flashes. Anyhow, how could I get the lights behave as they used to with the previous VPX? I cannot remember which ACDC version I actually used due to file corruption.

Sorry about my sloppiness. I used the baller installer, and assumed it would install all the up-to-date stuff. But it provided the older version of the pinmame. As clearly stated on this site, at least the v3.6.0-1209 version of the pinmame should be installed. S0 I followed this tutorial for the update and headed to the github, and now the erratic lights on the table seemed to disappear.

However, I still have issues with the Fire-button artifacts, see the image. On the comment thread, Cliffy suggested the following:

"Just open in edit mode, toggle backglass view and on the right layers window check to make all items an all layers show. Now use the mouse to surround the flasher lights and use cursor keys to slide them out of the bounding box. If they don't move they are locked so right click and click the lock toggle or use the menu bar, edit-lock"

If I understood correctly, I one by one moved the little circles at the bigger circumference outwards so that they exceeded the underlying bigger circle and box. But unfortunately it didn't help. I am using desktop and 3D side by side. Any tips? I would like to preserve the light in the button, not disable it fully.

Forgot to mention that I am interested in preserving the problematic light after fixing it

I'm ending up with a couple of errors when loading the game.

I made sure to get the correct BIN from the Stern Pinball site and zipped it correctly. I also tried downloading the AC-DC LUCI Premium VR (Stern 2013) v1.1.vbs script from this github page https://github.com/jsm174/vpx-standalone-scripts

I honestly don't know what to do from here. The table won't launch at all.

Can't work because of a compile error. So many games don't work on my Ipad because of this, and I have the latest version. What is happening? What does work and what doesn't?

I'm having an issue with DOF and version 1.13 of this table.

Everything works until I shoot the ball with the plunger. Then all my solenoids stop working and until power cycle the pinone (full shutdown or manually disconnect/reconnect USB) my solenoids won't work.

Editing to add: If I continue playing, they all start working after shooting ball 2.  And then go off again on ball 3.

VpinMame.dll Product Version= 3.6.0.1227.ecd032e

VPX 10.8.0 Final (Rev 2058(800a99c), windows DirectX 64bits)

DOF 3.2.9084.21419

FIgured it out. Somehow the "night mode" button got mapped to the same button that is "launch". So iti kept getting toggled on/off.

Hi!

I have tested the wooden bell and did not like it much. I wanted to get back to the steel bell, but I can not, it does not recognize the change... I even redownloaded it and can not get the steel bell back.

Any idea?

Spent the evening yesterday playing this gem. Love it! However, some bugs encountered. Sometimes the flipper does not engage, or it stays stuck in the upward position. The cannon sometimes does not shoot the ball when pressing the right magna save. Then you need to wait for the ball find to engage.

I am using all the latest software. I also redownloaded the table. Anyone have any idea what to check?

All 64 bit

VPX GL 10.8.0-2051

vpinmame  3.6-1227

dmdext 2.3.1

B2s 2.1.3

**edit**

The issue is more widespread as can be read in this post / bug report:
https://github.com/vpinball/pinmame/issues/262

running in DirectX version it is much better / solved it for me.

Which "last" VPX version are you referring to?
