  1. Card Trix (Gottlieb 1970) - Loading

    Format: 1080p60

This is a near-copy of the loading video I did for Flip-a-Card.  The only change is the music track, which is a cover of the opening to The Who's "Pinball Wizard".

  2. Class of 1812 (Gottlieb 1991) - Loading

    Format: 1080p60

For this video, I leaned into the idea that the monsters might actually part of a high school class and that the game is maybe about a reunion.  It's a little anachronous that there would be a yearbook with photos from 1812, but hey.

The video is made from element of the game's backglass, converted to sepia tone for use in this imaginary yearbook.  The music is, of course, Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1, which has accompanied only god knows how many graduation ceremonies since Edward Elgar wrote it in 1901.

This video is made from the game's logo and a 1960's era map of New York City's Central Park. The audio is a MIDI reproduction of organ grinder music, but I wasn't able to find the actual name of the track.

  8. Cowboy Eight Ball 2 (LTD do Brasil 1981) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

Cowboy Eight Ball 2 is the 4-player version of Cowboy Eight Ball, but uses some different music snippets.  Both games are copies of Eight Ball Deluxe.

This video is made from the game's backglass, and the music is "Red River Valley" as recorded by Jo Ann Castle in 1964.  I believe "Red River Valley" is the melody that plays when the game starts, but I'm not 100% sure.

This is another game whose artwork is hard to animate in any interesting way.  So I built the video from stock video and audio and used only the logo from the game.

  13. Canada Dry (Gottlieb 1976) - Loading

    Format: 1080p

As requested by CactusDude, here's a loading video for Canada Dry.

This is actually the my third attempt at this video.  The first two versions didn't work out for various reasons, in one case because I couldn't find music to match up with the mood of the video and in another because I couldn't find good vintage clips of people dancing.

So here we are.  This video is made from elements of the game's backglass plus the plastics at the top of the playfield.  I also used footage from a late 1960's Canada Dry ad and added stock music that fit the tone of the video.  BTW, the push/pull zoom at the end of the video is from one of the earlier iterations that used go-go dancers.  While the dancers are gone, the zoom really makes the video feel like its from the 70s, so I left it in.

I liked the Canada Dry  well enough that I created a matching real dmd video.  I've uploaded that too, if you are interested.

  16. Chicago Cubs Triple Play (Gottlieb 1985) LOADING video

Awhile back, I saw a loading video for Bobby Orr's Power Play by capnclaw that I thought was really cool. I thought I'd try to make a video for Chicago Cubs Triple Play just for fun, using a clip of the actual Cubs' triple play and some cards of the players who turned it. I think it turned out ok, so I thought I'd share.

I see Chassard recently submitted a video for this game, and I ordinarily wouldn't create another one, but I had already done this one a few weeks ago and just hadn't submitted it.  Think of it this way: now you have a choice in Count-down loading videos!  It's an embarrassment of riches!

  21. Capersville (Bally 1966) - Loading Video

    Format: 1080p

Ok, so I will admit this one got away from me a little.  I read that the art for this machine was inspired by Alphaville, a 1965 sci-fi/mystery movie directed by Jean-Luc Godard, so I created a 15-second loading video homage to the movie based on the art from the machine's backglass and playfield.  Unfortunately, this version of the video doesn't work very well on my cabinet, because the game loads too fast.

The tone of the video is also a little weird and stilted for a pinball machine.  There's probably a reason that French New Wave Cinema didn't have a lasting impact on pinball machines.

So I recommend that most people download the version marked "short" as it will probably fit the intended purpose better most of the time.  It maintains some of the rhythm of the longer version, but gets to the title screen quicker.

The audio in the long version is extracted from a scene in the movie.  If you are interested in seeing the whole scene, search for "Alphaville - What is Love?" on YouTube.
