Content Provider UnclePaulie Posted May 3, 2024 Content Provider Posted May 3, 2024 View File Safe Cracker (Bally 1996) Bally's Safe Cracker combines pinball and board games! The goal is to advance to the board game for a chance to break into the safe while avoiding obstacles along the way. Players spin and stop the safe dial to determine how many spaces to advance. The player can collect winnings and resume playing pinball after each dial spin, or spin again and risk losing it all. Players must risk it all for a chance to break into the bank vault and win the token award. The original 1.0 version was done by fuzzel, flupper1, rothbauerw; with the VR room originally being done by b4ast1. Apophis requested that I update the table with an updated playfield scan from EBisLit, and include all the new VPW code, 3D inserts, hybrid mode, physics, drop, standup, and vari-targets, bumpers, flashers, playfield mesh, fleep sounds, etc. Redbone further cleaned the playfield up, as well as some other images. I was able to bake the GI lights using blender light maps to make it look as real as possible (thanks for teaching me, apophis!), as well as implementing a pwm approach to the fading. I've also included other VR rooms, a topper, a flasher/siren, and F12 options. I reused the ramps and other prims from fuzzel's table, as well several pieces of code from rothbauerw. Other options in the script include a constant called, "useownb2s". If you set this to 1, you will turn off the desktop built in backglass. This is for desktop users that want to use a b2s backglass, not the built in one. MAGIC TOKENs... if you win the board game, the table will issue you a magic token (you'll see the coin roll down). How the ROM works... is the next game played will force you to use the magic token/s that you've won, and you play a 4 ball multiball for 90 seconds. Awesome! But you need to earn the tokens... REQUIREMENTS: ROMs: You will need two ROMs: A percentaging version is for the number of tokens issued is limited based on the game's earnings, and in a home environment you want to be able to obtain tokens. Meshuggah Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 After selecting fast or slow on the back glass and security guard was alerted I got this error when ball went back into play. The table continues fine after.

fsumarc Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) (edit. Figured it out right after typing this novel. Sorry. Left Answer incase anyone else notices this. Once adding credits and pushing "start" volume jumps to where I set it. It's only the volume up until that point that drops to quiet each restart. I had never seem this before.) Volume keeps resetting to very low each time table is launched. I know I'm probably missing something but I have tried everything I can think of. All my software is latest version confirmed. I am in a 3 screen cab. I have set up hundreds of tables in it without this issue. Normally the first time I launch a table that uses a rom I figure out which manufacturer and set volume accordingly. Works fine. Safe Cracker appeared to work fine as well. Using the 9 key to turn it up. Here's the weirdness. If I exit the table and then go back to it again later the volume will start super quiet again. If I tap the 9 key it will instantly jump to the next volume step I set previous and be loud. Example, when I first launched the table, volume super quiet. I clicked the 9 key several times and took it to like 26 (from around 12). Perfect. Played for a while. Exited the table. Launched the table later to show my wife. Super quiet. Clicked 9 once and it set to 27 and volume loud. Exited. Restarted. Volume super quiet. Clicked 9 and it jumped to 28 and loud. Weird right? I know it seems like a silly thing to ask about but I try to keep the keyboard and such out of the area so it is just a pinball machine except when installing new tables. It bugs me to have to dig out the keyboard and click 9 (and occasionally back it back down once it gets too loud). I dug around in the script to see if I could find something like a default level or something. Didn't find anything. Have I just been lucky all this time? Or is this an oddity? Thanks! I love the table! Edited May 9, 2024 by fsumarc
DeBo26 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I have a real DMD and the original version of the game works fine but this one I have no dmd? Yes, I was updated to the latest everything a few days ago. Anything I need to change in the script?

Any further ideas/help? Thanks!

bushav Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I'm also experiencing low voice callout volume. Can not seem to keep it at a balanced level with other game sounds. Fun table. Thanks for updating.
