In this world, the bad guys can win!

Tomate brought this table to life with great playfield and plastics images, and of course top notch 3d modeling and rendering. Sixtoe completely rebuilt the bones of the table. Flux and Apophis worked some code magic to bring it to life. Leo delivered the VR backglass. This is surely our most graphically demanding table thus far!

Make sure to check out the in-game options menu by pressing both magnasave buttons at the same time. Enjoy the show!

Impressive VR experience once again VPW, thanks! What a lightshow, wow!

Maybe the best lighting effects until now! (together with Big Bang Bar/Bride of Pinbot/TOTAN) But only after I turned on all the effects: SSAA/AA/AO/ScSp. Reflect to default/on (they were all OFF !) + tab lights->ScreenSpace Refl. Scale to: 1 instead of 0. After doing this all lighting effects look absolutely amazing/like the real thing. Is there a reason that those effects are turned off by default? Performance? The table runs smooth on my cab with all those effects turned on.

Is there a reason that the VR room of Big Bang Bar isn't included with this one? It really added something extra to the atmosphere; that VR room and the ability to change the room lighting.

But you guys keep impressing me with your work, this table together with all the other VPW releases play just like the real thing. It's just unbelievable how you guys manage to develiver this pinball experience to us. The 2022/2023 release are just SO good.

One small minor visual bug to report: The 3 red bumpers on the top have a small visual bug on the bottom. The "rod assembly" (not sure what it's called) are flickering a lot, seem ot be "double meshes" that cause it. This is only visible in VR because then you see them sideways.

VPW outdid themselves with the lighting and shadows making the table look real and the lightshow dazzling you all through the crazy multiballs. Of-course the physics are top-notch, and you need to put all your skills to the test as the table is tuned to throw everything at you. I love it!

What an incredible creation! The table looks fantastic and plays great. The update 1.2 really brings it at the next level and with the new POV system from VPX 10.8 (the later versions) it looks even better!

Thank you so much for the hard work on this!

Still on VPX 32 bits here, and it's working perfectly with the texture limitation (and my eyes can't see a difference) (GTX 1070 - 4K 60hz).

Thank's for this amazing work, its perfect as usual !
And thank you again because it's my favourite table, I love so much the sounds, the visual, the ambiance on this one.
Thank's for all these hours of incredible entertainment !

I wasn't a big fan of this table...until now...in VR it's hard to tell if I'm standing in front of the real table or not. Nice work on the crane!! Another excellent recreation that plays perfect, thanks Team!!

So I don’t know if it’s just me not being as observant as I should be, but I can’t believe how realistic the spinner looks on this thing! I mean, everything is top notch, as per the VPW standard. But that spinner…. DAAAMMMNNNN

I could play this for days just to rip that spinner and be quite content.

👏 👏 👏 BRAVO 👏 👏 👏

Hi to VPW-Team!

i know that we have a problem here:

The Last Action Hero table does not work with the 32-Bit Version of VPX.

I guess that 80-90% of us Cabinet-owners are still using the 32-Bit Version.

So i give a shout out to VPW-Team: Please! give us an alternate Version of the Table

without a VR-Room just right under 250 MB, so that we can play your amazing creations.

And no, Alternate Z-Buffer does not work.

Thank you!

Response from the author:

The VR room has got nothing to do with 64bit, it's all about the vpx texture sizes and memory required by the operating system to run tables with these large textures, one of the main reasons our tables look like they do are these high quality rendered textures and you normally just can't load these into a 32bit system (which has a hard memory limit).

If you don't want to update to 64bit (and you should) then use older versions of this table from other people.

Table looks awesome!

However first table I cannot play because cannot run smooth on my system due to heavy resources drain. It's stuttering a lot (too much).

Also with many settings tuned down (static shadows, no AA, and so on) it's still stuttering too much., whilst resource heavy tables as The Addams Family, The Golden Eye run smoothly.

It is possible to do some more optimisations?

Enabled "alternative depth buffer processing" in video/graphic settings, that helped a lot! It becomes playable 🙂

Table is very beautiful but is it not toooo much bouncy ?

Flipper pads, slingshots and all other elastics are very very very very bouncy !

Response from the author:

It's been confirmed and compared to the real machine and other machines of it's era/manufacturer, although each individual machine is different this is a fair representation of how it plays.

The table looks, feels and plays amazing. Great piece of work. Also the color dmd looks really nice.

(Unfortunately, the puppack doesn't work on my cab. Tried everything, but the backglas just remains black)

Response from the author:

OK, but why have you marked the table down for an issue that's nothing to do with the actual table?

VPW is on fire, thanks so much for all your hard work guys. The magna options are a great touch. Looks amazing but finally met a table that brought my midrange Ryzen 5 with an AMD 6600 to its knees. And this was after Big Bang ran a steady 60.  Time to upgrade soon or see if I can run my 4K playfield at 1080p I guess.

amazing work, you are all to be commended. Never hold back. I’ll upgrade to play high end work like this.

To get this table working you will need both roms the lah_113 rom which is linked in the "Media Pack" and the lah_112 rom at least in the rom directory Last Action Hero (1.12) - ROM - lah_112.zip - VPForums.org

the lah_113 alone does not work (at least here and exits out early) . I hope this hopefully helps :)

It is a great table :) Thank you for sharing

Loving the table looks great in 10.8x64.  Has anyone gotten the color DMD to work with lah_113?   If so what was your secret.

The team at VPinWorkshop is second to none. Whenever I see a VPW table I have to download it!

Amazing work.

By the way, can we maybe, possibly get a VPW Creature From The Black Lagoon sometime in the future?

Never reviewed this awesome table when it was 1.0, so I'll review 1.2 with a shout out to the massive performance upgrade in this version! Definitely on a low-end system here and these changes make a world of difference in game play for anyone with a weaker CPU/GPU combo. Thanks for the hard work, in general, and especially for the attempt to improve performance for folks running lesser systems. 🍻

Thank you so much for this table. Lots of people hated the movie, but I loved it so much when it came out. I just saw there's an update for the table, going now to go install it.

Going to cue up AC/DC' track "BIG GUN" and start playing this .. hell, I might even watch the Movie again tonight too!

thanks VPW and everyone involved!

i did the 64 jump for this one and will never look back.

incredible lighting and gameplay. This one stand right next to Tales of the crypt as for the most beautifull work you ve done so far.

Thank a lot for this stunner and can only hope the future will bring us Demolition man as  Sly deserve to join the Governator into the pantheon of pinball.

Amazing, of course it is, its a VPW release. These past few releases of BBB, TNA, and LAH are really starting to blur the line between real and virtual pinball. As an added bonus, this made me finally take the plunge down the 64 bit rabbit hole.
