Star Trek The Next Generation (Williams 1993) VPW Mod

Engage!

VPW are proud to present a table tune up of Knorr and Clark Kent's version of Star Trek the Next Generation from Williams.

Although already great, we've added updated nfozzy physics, added some fleep sound whilst keeping the original recordings from the real machine, added the full VR room suite from Rawd and Steely, updated Sixtoes VR cabinet with Leojreimroc making a fully functional backbox in VR and lots of other tweaks and fixes along the way.

The table now plays even closer to the real thing and we hope you enjoy it!

I 'm getting object requires controller line 163 on this table and some other new tables.

I have tried vpx 10.8 and 10.72. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm enjoying the table very much, however, I don't know how to reduce the volume of the obnoxiously loud flipper sound. Thanks!

The flippers are well-balanced with the rest of the mech sounds for me, but if you want to lower them:

- Open the table in the editor

- Go to line 3549 in the script

- adjust the flipper volume variables there

OR

- Open the table in the editor

- At the top, click Table->Sound Manager (F2)

- Select the sounds from "Flipper_Attack-L01" to "Flipper_Right_Down_8"

- Click Position/Volume

- Lower the volume slider

Thank you. The moment I separated mech and rom sounds  to different devices, everything was well balanced:)

Hi! The table is simply astonishing! ^_^

Just one question... the music volume of the game (music, the speech of the characters of star treks, etc) is really low... is there a way to increase it? The volume of the table' sounds is ok. Thanks!

Hi.
I'm pretty new to the virtual pinball world and I have a little problem with this table - I have no music with it. There are fx sounds, but no music or voices. I was trying to raise the volume, but it's not the case. I can't even find the music and/or voice using sound manager in visual pinball.
I'd be grateful for any information about that, what could be wrong here?

@WereWolf_PL look at Cliffy's post 3 above yours.

I tried that, but it's not the case here. Seems like there are no music/voice files in the table at all - should it be working at all with only the rom and vpx or do I have to install media pack for it?

Music and effects all from the ROM so please try redownloading the correct ROM and replacing yours. Also try hitting F1 when the table is started and check that Use Sounds is not unchecked for whatever reason!

I don't know what's going on. Everything is set up as it should - sound enabled, volume increased, but still no music from the rom. I tried downloading different versions, but still no luck with it.

I managed to run it with pup pack - I'm not sure what was the problem before, but it worked after running it from pinup player. I prefer tu run it manually from visual pinball.exe, because I play on pc, and pinup menu cause some problems with the system sometimes. Also - pup pack don't work with 64bit versions, don't know why.

Anyway, still wondering why it's not working with just the rom. I haven't tried many tables yet, but seems like the same problem is with The Addams Family table - also only sfx without music. But for example with Metallica table everything works...

What kind of soundcard and settings therefore do you have? Is it a surround setup? Also did you check in VPX audio settings that you have the same sound device selected for both music and effects and checkmark checked an volume 100% as a general setting, and no table override?

I've also seen that checking Extend mono sound to stereo in F1 settings has worked for some people.

Oh wow... Finally, you pointed me in the right direction :)
Yes, it's a surround setup, 5.1 but actually I have back speakers disconnected. I was messing up with the audio settings in VP before but nothing worked. Now I tried to set up my card to stereo, and surprise.. it worked. It's strange that setting up stereo in VP audio settings didn't work. Anyway... now I also checked the "extend mono to stereo" option and it works even with my sound card set to surround.

Thanks for the help :)

Hey everyone, I’m having some trouble with this pinball table. Is it just me, or is this table basically impossible?

I’m pretty new to pinball. I’ve tried a few tables before, but none of them felt like this one. For example, I aim for the left ramp, and even when the ball is right at the tip of the right flipper, I can’t hit it consistently,  I’d say maybe 1 out of 20 times.

Other times, when I’m trying to complete a mission, I aim for the left ramp, miss it, and the ball gets a weird spin and usually drains down the left outlane.

I really love this table, but I just can’t seem to figure it out. Do you guys have any tips? Or is there something off about the table’s physics?
