I know you're a pro but PERHAPS you accidently unzipped and overwrote your dmddevice.ini? Make sure colorize=true is up at the top

also, rename or delete and serum dlls in the vpinmame folder

I'm not a pro, just an old guy with a hobby :D

my dmddevice.ini is copied by script, to switch from vr to cabinet and vice-versa.

Strange part is when I switch to freezy or older version of lucky it is working (i got file backup with 10 retention of the files, and checked by reverting back).

Will be at the cab to check tomorrow morning.

but If I am the only one, it must be me (or the cabinet)

Not sure if it is just me,  but just testing latest version with the Tron serum colored file, but looks like some frames are used from the rom and not from the colored file.

See

This is on my PinDMDv3
When capturing this, it is not so flashing, but you see that it is using the org frames and skip some colored frames (didn't had this with previous versions)

I actually noticed the same on my Real Pin2DMD

let me get the latest versions as of now and retest

Edit:  Serum and other colorizations working well. Thanks @lucky1

Maybe I miss something guys, but grabbing the latest version (and using VPX 32 bit),
Only Serum is working for me. Any other format is not working. (no serum.DLL in my vpinmame directory and DMDdevice.ini has colorize = true set)

Moving back to my previous version (DMDdevice and Pin2color Dll from 8 of march and downloaded latest serum.dll from github),  all the colorizations are working.

I first thought it was caused because the coloration files could not be found as serum files are showed to be found :

3.thumb.png.a66d92ae70f2ea061b4acadf903db0ac.png

but moving back the previous works with Congo and the other file formats  (and nothing in the DMD device log that points me to a direction)

Any ideas how I can get the latest version to work correctly ?

Edit : using Freezy's 2.1.1 , I have all the colorizations (expect from PAC of course)

I installed your latest lucky1, and everything seems fine when testing with setup.exe of VPinMAME, but when I run a colored DMD table like Twilight Zone, its not colored.  Very strange.  Any ideas?

setup shows the color DMD.

SORRY, nevermind, everything seems to be working after another copy over of the new stuff.

THANKS Lucky1

well hell. I just tried rocky and bullwinkle this morning and damn, only 4 colors. Something has gone wrong @lucky1 and no dmddevice log has been generated. That tells me the external dmd isn't being loaded

Ok a quick rundown. using todays new binaries, vpx 10.7.4, vpinmame-sc 3.6 x86.

Rocky and Bullwinkle will not load the color dmd if using the realpin fsq on my single screen desktop lcd. (it certainly used to!) Switch to the pal/vni then color works but they are all wrong, quite a mess. rab_320 is a 128x32 display. No dmddevice.log is generating since the May 4th version.

Ran Batman DE batmn_106 which is 128 x 16 dmd, pal/vni, colors all good.

Ran AFM afm_113 128x32 and a .pac file, colored perfectly

Tron Legacy trn_174 128x32 with serum ,.cRZ, ran and looked perfect

DE Tommy 128x32 tomy_500 .pac runs perfectly

DE Star Wars stwr_107 128x32 running .fsq realpin on desktop lcd- perfect

DE Hook hook_501 128x16 using .pac color, perfect

Spiderman VE smve_101c 128x32 SAM color patched rom, perfect

This is a quick startup and play one ball to make sure dmd kept up and pups triggered.

It seems 128x32 pal/vni on data east is the only problem child so far

The important part is missing in your screenshots. Is it looking for the colorization in the same location ?

Please see my post again as I edited and added some tests

Also .fsq on Gottlieb super mario brothers no longer colorizes either. pac file does work.

Apollo 13 sega 128x32 .fsq DOES work ok.

DE Checkpoint 128 x 16 pal/vni works fine.

DE Guns n Roses gnr_300 12x32 pal/vni colors fine. Strange that bullwinkle does not since same as GnR.

DE TFTC tftc_400 128x32 pal/vni works great

Gottlieb super mario mushroom world 128 x 32 pal/vin very laggy. can see the dmd redrawing and  making colors wrong much of the time.

One last thing- I did get rocky and bullwinkle working properly with the fsq file. My mistake. I had renamed the wrong .pal file. when I test betweens fsq and pal/vni I will add a .hold to the names of the files I do not want to test. In this case I simply renamed the wrong one.

Both pal/vni and pal/fsq work fine for rab_320.

On a hunch I checked SMB and yeah, I renamed the wrong pal there too. FSQ and pal/vni work ok again. It does still show a scan line as its drawing teh display at times which I hadn't seen it do before. At least the colors are there and correct

Again no log has been created though. strange.

lol and thanks !
Not sure why my VPX is not grabbing the color file when launching from VPX, but works with PinMame.
But older version works as a charm... If I'm the only one, just forget it and I will stick to the old version, but really doesn't understand

Mike you might try with a clean dmddevice.ini. I've found most of my problems is with duplicate entries or something truncated inside.  I sent mine to lucky before and he found the problem right away.

Looking at your logfiles I can see that the colorization plugin fails when it tries to open the connection after successfully loading. Could be a access rights problem. Could you try running vpx as admin ?

Looking at your logfiles I can see that the colorization plugin fails when it tries to open the connection after successfully loading. Could be a access rights problem. Could you try running vpx as admin ?

Normally I launch VPX normall (without admin), so I tried it as admin. But same results :
