vampirolatino2
Randr looks great man!! anyone planning on replacing a real dmd to this setup... I would for sure recommend randr's last post on how he mounted the panels... the frame i'm working on will be best used in a custom speaker panel with a custom sized viewing hole for the new size of these panels..... randr beat me to it because I had the same Idea about the mounting them using the available frame and a plexy for and all in one. we had the same idea, niceeee Love it randr!! Content Provider lucky1 Posted November 17, 2015 Author Content Provider Share Posted November 17, 2015 Palette Upload to PIN2DMD from colorize DMD settings in PinMame is in the official source. http://sourceforge.net/p/pinmame/code/3750/#diff-1 Now we only have to wait for the compiled unified SAM version to test it. Content Provider UncleSash Posted November 18, 2015 Content Provider Share Posted November 18, 2015 The arduino is to slow for the refresh and data handling. Maybe an Arduino Due with the 32 bit mcu. But then you have almost the same costs as with the stm. And you have to write the software again.
Content Provider lucky1 Posted November 18, 2015 Author Content Provider Share Posted November 18, 2015 Here is a video of PinMAME setting the colors of PIN2DMD using the colorize feature, which will be part of the next official and SAM build . They are only talking about a digital arcade marquee, which would not need to refresh at any considerable rate since it's a static image in 99% of the cases
Content Provider UncleSash Posted November 18, 2015 Content Provider Share Posted November 18, 2015 You can try it. Adafruit has an library for these panels. They use also the HUB75 port.
