Step into the lab and bring the machine to life! Released by Gottlieb in September 1986, Genesis tasks you with collecting four body parts to assemble a robot, then striking the vari-target to power up the Regenerator and witness its awakening. The playfield multiplier can climb as high as 32x during multiball as scoring compounds fast with every shot. This recreation faithfully captures the table's striking color-contrast playfield, 1980s sci-fi flair, and punishing difficulty.

Please Note: You will need the latest pre-release of VPinMame (build v3.7.0-237 or later) for this table to run properly. (not PinMame, it has to be VPinMame)

I saw this last year for the first time during the Georgia state finals, and I've been wanting to have a chance to play it so I can learn more about it and how it works. Thank you for this great emulation of a game that's kind of hard to come across in working order.

Thank you VPW team for this great table!

Updating your Visual Pinball Machine can sometimes be tricky.

In have 3 backup harddisks if something goes wrong.

Make sure to be prepared for  the unexpected.

You never know!

Is this an original or an update?  Reason I ask is that I installed the new table, and instantly got older scores with MY initials.  But I don't have any Genesis table installed.  Must have had it at one time.

You have possibly played this before. Same ROM

Some people don't know all the stuff happening behind the scenes. We have been working on this for almost 2 years. Delayed a few times because of the emulation issues, like the cursed kicker that never would kick the ball and be stuck in an endless loop. Then also we added new features like PWM, wich was not possible on sys80 tables in VPM 3.6.

Also it looks like 3.7 will be prepared for a release, so why not have the community involved? Maybe together we can figure out if other games got broken so we can create reports for those. In the end we all as a community need to support the latest stuff that gets added. The evolution of VPinMame is a never ending story. Having the entire community invlolved will help make the end product better for all of us as well.

💯%!!!

I'm not looking forward going through all my tables after upgrading vpinmame but I always report issues I find on GitHub.

Anything to help this community!

Hi

Another great table, thank you!  The only question I have is there doesn't seem to be any pop bumper decals or drop target decals. I don't see any on the posted screenshots, is this a glitch or something?

Thanks for another awesome table!

Fantastic release thanks guys.
If anyone is having trouble with ROM sounds not playing, check your F1 Vpinmame menu and make sure that "Use sound" is ticked and then restart the table. If you have previously played the "Metropolis Reborn" mod of Genesis then you might have this option disabled. Took me a little while to figure out what the issue was with my setup.

Well that certainly explains it doesn't it!  It's been a long time since I've played the real thing.  Thank you for your clearing that up for me!

First of all, another excellent job by VPW. Thank you.
I’ve noticed some strange behavior with DOF. As soon as the table loads—even before adding a credit or starting a game—I hear and feel a solenoid activate, and when I exit the table using the "Q" key, I hear and feel it deactivate. It seems like something is triggering a solenoid and keeping it engaged the entire time. I don't think it's an issue with my DOF files, as this didn't happen with the previous version of the table. Has anyone else noticed this? To prevent the solenoid from burning out, I had to revert to the previous version until I figure out what's going on.

Great work again. After the VPinMAME update, the table played really well. Before that, there were some strange glitches.
I do have one remaining issue, though: The backglass lighting isn't working for me. Not that it makes the backglass look all that much better, but it is a bit dark without the light 😉 I didn't have this problem with the old nFozzy version of the table.

[Problem]

Can anyone confirm, that after installing the 3.7 VPinMame Pre-Release, all Metallica tables stopped working?

Also with latest 3.7 beta release Metallica stopped working.

After reinstalling VPinMame 3.6 (official latest release) everything is working fine with Metallica tables, but this beautiful Genesis gem unfortunately does not.

[Solved]

I have chosen the Pre-Release version, which was shown in the video...
But I should have taken the "SC" version instead:

VPinMAME-sc-3.7.0-477-6589fc5-win-x64.zip

-> with the "SC" version Genesis works fine AND all mtl_180 roms work fine!
