"What A Rush!"

 

This started back in 2023 when JLou asked Sixtoe with help to update his fantastic version of Stargate to the latest bells and whistles, the project was put on hold due to having too many projects going on at once until mcarter78 picked it up in August and threw himself at it, then everyone else jumped in and the project actually got knocked out pretty quickly, because we already had fantastic assets from the old table and access to 2 real machines and people who knew them (which really helps!)

I can't get any sound out from the ROM on this table. Using the supplied NVRAM of course.

 

Mech sounds works and also other Gottlieb tables like Street Fighter II works. Having a PIN2DMD screen so don't know how to get the volume adjust menu on a Gottlieb this way.

 

Any help appreciated 🫣

Download the rom from this website and it will work. 

 

I got the same problem with a rom downloaded from an another website, running but without sounds

Hi all,

 

I'm unable to get this table to accept coins. I've tried the original stargat5 ROM (Dated 1996) and the one suggested above, but neither allow me to add coins. I'm a medium experienced VP person, with hundreds of tables running, but no joy with this. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Hey BillOz,

 

I had the same problem: I pressed 5 to add coins but it didn't count up any credits. It's the first pinball table that had that problem for me. After some time I found a helpful FAQ entry that solved this problem and the table now works.

- Please make sure you unzipped the NVRAM files for Bally_6803_GTS3 tables to your \Visual Pinball\VPinmame\nvram\ folder.

 

So in this case you have to download the Stargate NVRAM.zip, unzip it and move the stargat5.nv file into the \Visual Pinball\VPinmame\nvram\ folder. 🙂

Are you sure the rom volume isn't just turned way down?

Run setup64.exe, click test and find the stargate rev 5 rom.

Click game options and check show dmd window.

now click start rom and a small dmd will pop up upper left of your screen. 

Click on that dmd with your mouse and then hit your ~ key (tilde)

A volume bar will show up. Use the cursor up/down keys to move through the sound channels  and the left right keys to raise and lower.

coin up with the 5 key to hear if it's working.

hit tilde again to backout, turn off show dmd window in game options and stop rom.

Hello, I have a problem with the table. When I start it, I get a message saying that a ball is missing and that I want to add one. I have already reset the table with F3, but without success. It accepts the coins, but no ball is added. What can I do? I use VPin X64; with the X32 version, the pinball machine does not start at all. Thank you for your help.

Read the comments on the actual download page.  This table can be a bit tricky.
