I used to like Cactus Canyon but there was always something that just didn't feel right about it, so I didn't play it often.  I just played this version and was totally blown away by the quality of what VPW has produced.  This looks/sounds/plays perfect!  Well done team VPW!  This is going straight to the top of my list of favorite tables.😍

Completely Wizard.

Thank you VPW for helping me reach and complete my first Wizard mode IRL at the pinball arcade last night. Also, I put up my name in the High Scores the first day I played the machine (I knocked down 42 drop targets during Showdown Mutiball,) after practicing at home for a couple of weeks. The IRL table and this virtual one play very closely.

I attribute my pinball success to this table (and other like it.) I studied the basics of pinball on different videos, then practiced on my computer. I did this for about two months, then saw an arcade that does quarter Wednesdays. I wanted to see for myself just how close to "real" virtual pinball is, and if I could do do the wizard mode thing.  About 3 hours into the evening, I start getting close to leaderboards. Pretty neat. Pretty "real."

Cactus Canyon should be a staple table for everyone's library.

The story behind Cactus Canyon sums up the visual pinball movement pretty accurately.

Basically, this game was released unfinished, so Bally could focus on their short lived Pinball 2000 lineup, before focusing solely on making gambling machines.

The game was finished by a  random guy. The gentleman, name Epthegeek, attached a PROC system to his real life Pinball machine about 12 years ago and started digging around in the ROM. Then, in 2021, Chicago Gaming company took some of those ideas when they released their remake. I feel this is what the visual pinball community is all about; members of the community constantly updating and refining the tables based on their passion for pinball.

There are 4 levels to setting up an ideal virtual pin:

(1) - Getting VPX / FP working properly to play EM and original tables without ROMs.

(2) - Getting VPinMAME setup properly - to play rom based games.

(3) - Getting Pinup Player to work for PUP packs and tables like GOTG and Batman 66.

(4) - Setting up PROC to play Cactus Canyon Continued and some of the other PROC games.

Cactus Canyon will "help" you accomplish these four stages in your virtual pin career.

This table has an amazing PUP pack that showcases some of the heavy hitters in the visual pinball community, complete with caricatures. I got a little mad at Terry Red the other day because his Aliens table murdered me in less than 2 minutes. I come back to Cactus Canyon, and shoot him, over and over again. Helps a little. Not happy Terry. Not happy.

Take the extra time to figure out PUP packs; the Cactus Canyon PUP pack really adds an extra dimension to the game. You can shoot people like Nailbuster, Classic Radios, and Joe Picasso if you get mad at the them too.

One of the best tables I never knew I needed, and my first Wizard Mode.

I did the work, VPW made it possible to do the work (by showcasing outstanding tables to work with.)

I constantly come back to this one even if I have lot of tables with nice pup-pack and the rest. The work here is really well done and the SSF works perfectly.

Thanks to the team

Cactus Canyon and Cont. has become one of my favorite tables.  Beautiful work VPW, table looks, sounds and feels great as always.  Perfect compatibility with the P-Roc version and color DMD which I highly recommend to anyone who likes this table,  The extra modes are worth the effort.

Thanks again for the time and effort you guys spend to bring us such quality tables to play.

Never had P-ROC before today.  This table made me get it and I'm very happy that I did.  Great table, great flow, everything about it is great.  Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this creation to us.

Absolute wizardry. So real it feels like I can reach into the screen. As good as digital pinball gets. Anyone not giving this 5 stars is out of their mind.
