Paris, 1930.

Welcome to the Crystal Palace Hotel, one of the most prestigious hotels in Paris.

Your mission is to upgrade the Crystal Palace Hotel from 0 to 5 stars by completing its many activities and special missions.
But becoming a five-star hotel is no easy task...

Whether it's descending into the basement to repair the failed generators, roaming the corridors in pursuit of a mysterious ghost, or recovering the Countess's stolen diamonds, these are just a few of the tasks the manager will assign to you.

Each completed mission brings you one step closer to the ultimate reward: the final rooftop party.

So put on your finest evening clothes, complete the check-in, ascend the grand staircase or step into the elevator, if you've managed to repair it, and enjoy a night of jazz, mystery, cocktails and adventure in Paris.

But be careful...

Not every guest is what they seem.

Your room is ready. Your adventure begins now.

About the table

Crystal Palace Hotel is an original Visual Pinball X table inspired by the golden age of Art Deco, luxury hotels and 1930s Paris. Developed by me, @ely_pincab , starting from the amazing VPW Example Table v1.7.

The table has been designed with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, combining custom artwork, animations, music, lighting and dynamic effects to recreate the feeling of stepping inside a glamorous 1930s hotel.

Features include:

A complete 0–5 star hotel progression system
🏨 Multiple hotel missions
🎷 Jazz Time
🛗 Interactive elevator
🧳 Luggage Express
👻 Suite 501 ghost hunt
💎 Lost Diamonds investigation
🍸 Happy Hour
🎰 Mystery Bag with good or bad rewards
🔐 Room Service and Secret Room Multiball
 Hotel Blackout
💃 Rendezvous missions
🥂 Rooftop Party final objective
🎨 Custom FlexDMD animations (FlexDMD required)
💡 Dynamic DOF effects (download the latest version in DOFConfigTool)
🏛️ Original Art Deco artwork and environment
🎵 Custom music and sound design
🚫 No VR support yet
📖 Rules available at any time with the left MagnaSave button
🎵 Change the song with the right MagnaSave button
🍸 Open or close the bar doors with the Fire button to have easier access to bumpers area
⚙️ Mission difficulty level available in the F12 options

This is my first table ever, so even though I have done my best to test it extensively, there are surely still some bugs.

If you find one, please let me know and provide as much detail as possible to help me reproduce it. I will do my best to fix it in a future version.

A big thank you to everyone who helped me debug the table and improve its gameplay.
And a huge thank you also to the entire VPW team for making their Example Table available to the community. Without it, I would never have been able to achieve this result !

I hope you will enjoy your stay at the Crystal Palace Hotel !

Not bad for a first table. Plays very good and alot of hidden missions.

Thanks for this table! 😁👌

Maybe a golden ball and more brighter flippers with the next update.

This is great Ely!  Looking forward to what comes next!

I did a slight mod to your B2S, upscaling the image and added some lighting changes (mostly just flashing logo).  Included iwantpinball's mod of your dmd screen, with some lighting added to it too.

What a soothing table! Usually, pinball is synonymous with stressful gameplay, noisy hurry-ups, and nerve-racking music. But here, you get the exact opposite, and it works!

Gameplay-wise, this reminds me a bit of Who's Dunnit?, a game I really like. I love the layout, with its beautiful Art Deco-inspired artwork and enjoyable lanes. The elevator is a very nice touch.

I highly recommend this table after a stressful day at work. Very well done

@ely_pincab !!

This is a fantastic table! I like the music, and that old school vibe. It's a very easy table I struggled to drain the ball honestly, kept things going for almost an hour on a single play!

Response from the author:

Wow ! 1h ! Well done !

True that if you manage correctly the outlane save, you can have almost unlimited ball save :)

If it was to easy for you, you can try to change the mission difficulty level to Hardcore in F12 option ;)

Awesome Table

Thank you sharing this table, Nice ambiance and music to boot. plenty of missions etc to keep you playing. My favourite table is Who Dunnit? by Bally this is right up there with it.

Thanks

Thanks for your review.

Who Dunnit is also my favorite table, and the idea for Crystal Palace Hotel came to me after playing it.

So the table design is really stellar, I like that and the music together they create a great ambiance. The table design is unique and really cool, I think it all feels pretty fresh.

The voice input is an interesting addition but way off at times. It's like the tone of when I ask siri a question.

Response from the author:

Indeed, regarding the callout voice :D

Sorry, I’m French, and my wife and I have pretty strong French accents ! So I preferred using a generic voice.

But if you know someone who would be willing to record all the callouts (around 50), I’d be happy to import them in a new version ;)

This is awesome Totally chill vibes I feel like I transported to the Mafia days in Chicago or New York 30s forties era.

@ely_pincab Thank you so much for your table, it's fantastic! Thanks a lot for sharing it. In my case, to be able to play it on my VPinballX standalone setup in Batocera (no lockbar key, Right Ctrl as right magnasave), I had to make a quick key remapping patch, as shown in the attached file. I'll keep applying it if you release future updates, because I just HAVE to play it!

Amazing table.  Shots flow and the missions are challenging.   Been spending all my time since this release playing enjoying myself.  Thank you very much.

It's a very relaxing table. The music and the shots are very satisfying. It's excellent for introducing someone to pinball. Or to warm up the engines, if you're not careful time will fly by.

Great job, @ely_pincab, thank you for sharing.

Wow, seems really cool so far, ty for your work...and yes we need a female voice actor for the callouts lol

Tikimaster

That's pretty amazing for the first table you've created. I like tables with jazz anyway :-)—they're way too rare. I haven't played through much yet, but what I've seen so far is a lot of fun.
