NOTE: This download does not include the song files. You will need to acquire the songs on your own.

Instructions for Installation:
1. Download the VPX, B2S and Audio Files folder.
2. Inside the Audio Folder, you will find two folders: "AG" for the songs, and "AGSounds" for the movie sound clips. Place both folders in your Visual Pinball/Music folder. (Do not put them together inside another folder.) This allows audio ducking so the music volume lowers during movie clips.
3. The song list, and the required file names, is below. All songs are on the full soundtrack. (The "Highlights" version of the soundtrack does not have all songs). Place  your MP3 files of songs in "AG" folder. I modified my songs in Audacity to remove all low/high end and added reverb to make them sound like they were coming from a car radio in the distance. If you'd like to know how I did it, message me. (NOTE: The B2S files have a jukebox song selector with lights that correspond to the song list. You may use other songs but the lights won't match on the backglass/third screen. There is also a table option #3 to turn the music Off, see below.

Toppers and wheel logos uploaded to their respective categories on VPU.

Options: (Press and Hold Left Flipper Button in Attract Mode. Left Flipper toggles options, Right Flipper toggles values)
1. 3 or 5 ball games
2. Free Play/Coin Play
3. Music On/Off
4. Music Volume

Other Options in Script:
1. VR Room, line 40
2. Left gate at drag race lane, line 57:   A.) Challenging "0": Allows one ball-save per ball, then closes to allow outlane drain. B.) Easier "1": Stays open except during multiball, then closes until one ball in play.

Game Features:
- A drag race between ball 1 and ball 2 starts multiball. Light the top lanes. Get ball 1 into the left lane. Shoot Ball 2 from plunger lane in race against Ball 1. Watch the light between the flippers. First ball to the top gates wins.
- Pinball machines in a pinball machine!
- 3rd Screen B2S jukebox  song list with lights to indicate current song. Right Magnasave changes song.
- Left Magnasave pulls up various hit event counts needed to start Wolfman Jack Challenge
- Progressively darker LUTs with each ball to mimic nightfall (like the events in the movie)

Released

Apologies, folks. The saucer wasn't right on v1.2 so here's a fresh update with additional improvements.

1. XERB Saucer physics rebuilt by bord. No stuck balls and great action. Thanks to bord ... and apophis, who pinpointed the issue.

2. Added missing metal hit sfx and louder "coin in" sfx.

3. Improved clarity on Old Harper callouts 3 and 4. The zip file "AGSounds_OldHarper3_4 update.zip" contains only those two files to replace the ones in your current AGSounds folder if you have already downloaded and setup American Graffiti. (If this is your first download, download the "Audio Files" zip and follow directions on the initial instructions. The new Old Harper sounds are already in the Audio Files zip folder as well.)

4. Changed the material on the saucer to improve visuals

5. NOTE: Louder ball rolling sounds remain from v1.2 and may be adjusted with directions in v1.2 post.

PLUS...
The 3 screen .directb2s has been updated to American Graffiti (Original 2024)3scr_v2 to include applying credits to the backglass. Thanks to MachWon for the fix.

Enjoy.

OMG !!!!!!!!!!!  I'm 78 years old and I LIVED this period !!!!!!  The table is beautiful and plays beautifully and is so well thought out.  I installed the music and just listened for a while before even starting up the table.  And I spent the time looking at all the incredible artwork.  Then I started playing.  Whewwwwwwwwwwwww.....I was transported back to the days of.  sock hops, jitterbugging, twisting, dancing cheek to cheek, first kisses, drive-ins, the incredible foods and milkshakes at my local Shoney's drive-in....... (my parents had to take me at  first because I was too young to drive, but when somebody in our group got their license, we were there every  Friday and Sunday night)...... where they served the original Big Boy double decker hamburger...my mouth is watering remembering to this day the taste.  And, of course playing  pinball at Gus'..... ( a beer joint maybe 100 feet long and old walls maybe 30 feet across owned by an elderly Greek man who had a special place in our hearts and where I had my first legal beer :)) while jiving to this beautiful music.  Before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face as I played this table reliving a wonderful day when life was so much simpler.  Thank you so much to Onevox and all those who worked on the wonderful table ! (Pinball Gramps)

Awesome original theme and a cool layout, plays great. The OST is a must so don't skip it. Very nostalgic, just need a basket of greasy fries and a milkshake.

Top shelf design, creativity and gameplay. Really an exceptional build. Congratulations for taking the creative spark and getting all the way across the finish line. A huge accomplishment.

One of the greatest films ever made is now one of the greatest virtual pinball tables. Easily a favorite in Popper.

Thanks for this, brings back memories of my parents listening and singing to this music when I was a kid. It's a feel good table that's fun to play and the music/atmosphere is awesome. Excellent choice for a VR Room too, it adds to the atmosphere of playing the table back in those days.

Allthough I am old enough to remember the movie it never made the impression on me like this table. Enhancing the audio files with the hinted Audacity enhancements even made it more enjoyable. Highly recommend this table.

This is a fun table.  It has unique features and elements that really make this table stand out.

It is abundantly obvious that a lot of effort and love went into this.  Having a party next weekend and I can't wait to show this off!

It is humbling to say it's obvious how much work and fine tuning went into this incredible original vpx table. The "drag race" mode mechanism is something I have never seen before and just for that it deserves 5 star rating. I am currently playing without music files and will try to upgrade soon for complete experience. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the work in this game.  I have had  American Graffiti cab artwork on my VP pin for 6 years now...and waiting hoping someone would love the movie as much and come up with a game.  Thanks Again... Great Job.

Awesome theme, looks and plays great for me. Nicely done. Thanks for all the work! It's a lot of fun.

@Erigc384,  having to look for the music shouldn't have any effect on the table score. that seems a bit harsh to me. ; )

This table has a really good atmosphere, the graphics are good, and I love the jukebox on the DMD :)

It was a bit of a pain to find all the music files, but it's worth it, the music is great !!!

The only think I would like it perhaps a faster ball, I would like the game to be a bit more nervous.

And I'm not sure there is an SSF sound for the ball rolling on the table, I can't hear it.

Thanks and congrats for this table, and I hope some upgrades will improve it.

Really like this but maybe mention that it needs VPX64 Bit rather than VPX, couldn't get it to work with normal vpx 10.8

Fantastic! Awesome inovative features like the juke box for the 3rd screen, the drag race, and the playfield getting darker progressively. Genius stuff. Thanks so much for your work!

Why are the required files to run this table not included in a mega link ?

with the amount of content that is either directly on the site or provided through secondary links I think you would be fine providing these oldies.

shame that backglass that replicate a jukebox is a real nice touch.

Response from the author:

Truth is, my son works for a record label and, of all things, writes algorithms that look for unapproved use of songs. A video posted to YT during testing was taken down immediately by YT AI. Decided not to share.

Fantastic job, congrats on creating a captivating original table with an inventive layout. I love everything about it. Great music as well since I grabbed the OST like you said. Only things I didn't like are the floaty ball physics, must be a unique gravity setting, and some of the callouts. Fixed that by muting about a dozen of them, especially the "We're Gonna Have a Good Time" 1-9-6-2 clip. Balanced things out nicely. Keep up the good work!
