NOTE: This download does not include the song files. You will need to acquire the songs on your own.

Instructions for Installation:
1. Download the VPX, B2S and Audio Files folder.
2. Inside the Audio Folder, you will find two folders: "AG" for the songs, and "AGSounds" for the movie sound clips. Place both folders in your Visual Pinball/Music folder. (Do not put them together inside another folder.) This allows audio ducking so the music volume lowers during movie clips.
3. The song list, and the required file names, is below. All songs are on the full soundtrack. (The "Highlights" version of the soundtrack does not have all songs). Place  your MP3 files of songs in "AG" folder. I modified my songs in Audacity to remove all low/high end and added reverb to make them sound like they were coming from a car radio in the distance. If you'd like to know how I did it, message me. (NOTE: The B2S files have a jukebox song selector with lights that correspond to the song list. You may use other songs but the lights won't match on the backglass/third screen. There is also a table option #3 to turn the music Off, see below.

Toppers and wheel logos uploaded to their respective categories on VPU.

Options: (Press and Hold Left Flipper Button in Attract Mode. Left Flipper toggles options, Right Flipper toggles values)
1. 3 or 5 ball games
2. Free Play/Coin Play
3. Music On/Off
4. Music Volume

Other Options in Script:
1. VR Room, line 40
2. Left gate at drag race lane, line 57:   A.) Challenging "0": Allows one ball-save per ball, then closes to allow outlane drain. B.) Easier "1": Stays open except during multiball, then closes until one ball in play.

Game Features:
- A drag race between ball 1 and ball 2 starts multiball. Light the top lanes. Get ball 1 into the left lane. Shoot Ball 2 from plunger lane in race against Ball 1. Watch the light between the flippers. First ball to the top gates wins.
- Pinball machines in a pinball machine!
- 3rd Screen B2S jukebox  song list with lights to indicate current song. Right Magnasave changes song.
- Left Magnasave pulls up various hit event counts needed to start Wolfman Jack Challenge
- Progressively darker LUTs with each ball to mimic nightfall (like the events in the movie)

Apologies, folks. The saucer wasn't right on v1.2 so here's a fresh update with additional improvements.

1. XERB Saucer physics rebuilt by bord. No stuck balls and great action. Thanks to bord ... and apophis, who pinpointed the issue.

2. Added missing metal hit sfx and louder "coin in" sfx.

3. Improved clarity on Old Harper callouts 3 and 4. The zip file "AGSounds_OldHarper3_4 update.zip" contains only those two files to replace the ones in your current AGSounds folder if you have already downloaded and setup American Graffiti. (If this is your first download, download the "Audio Files" zip and follow directions on the initial instructions. The new Old Harper sounds are already in the Audio Files zip folder as well.)

4. Changed the material on the saucer to improve visuals

5. NOTE: Louder ball rolling sounds remain from v1.2 and may be adjusted with directions in v1.2 post.

PLUS...
The 3 screen .directb2s has been updated to American Graffiti (Original 2024)3scr_v2 to include applying credits to the backglass. Thanks to MachWon for the fix.

Enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL table and no problems downloading with music. This is one of those tables that never gets old even as I do...It's a bonus to have control of the jukebox just like in the diner. Only thing missing is the roar of engines and the smell of burning rubber....a keeper for sure. Thanks for your efforts...it's a gem!!!

I wasn't sure what to expect and typically spend the majority of my time playing pinballs that actually exist. The art, gameplay, creativity and fun factor with this table is just off the charts. Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. It's just great :).

Bravo for this magnificent AG table, I love the 1950s atmosphere. Simple but very effective table, well done and thank you

So George Lucas actually made a great movie before Star Wars? Indeed he did.  American Graffiti brought George Lucas to fame. A fabulous coming of age story where we follow some high schoolers on their final night together. This table is the most beautiful love letter to both the movie and that American period in particular. And just like the movie, the lights on the playfield get dimmer as night closes in. Genius! At first I was a bit skeptical to EM-tables, but I soon learned that they are just as fun and creative as any SS. And creative this table is indeed! DMD is basically a jukebox with all the hits played in the film. Songs will play randomly or be selected using magna saves, and they all are great!

The playfield uses the diner as great set piece, and there are several nods to specific scenes from the movie. But the most awesome part is that you even get to go dragracing, just like Bob Falfa aka Harrison Ford himself!  The movie had some amazing sound design, and this table uses the sounds and callouts from the film to the fullest. You basically feel Wolfman Jack sitting right beside you as you play.

George Lucas should be told about this amazing table, not to sue. But to once more experience this amazing nostalgia from the early 60´s. I’m pretty sure he played some awesome pins at Mels diner in Modesto. This table however would have blown him away. This is a work of art, and crafted with so much love for both American Graffiti as a movie  and the 60´s as a period. Thank you so much @Onevox You just made an EM masterpiece!!

When I first installed and played without the music, it was a good table. When I added the music, it became a great table! For my personal taste, I like the ball to have the feeling of more weight, so I tweaked the physics and difficulty a tad. It's a really good-looking and fun-playing table, and the atmosphere is perfect!

Looks, Plays and sounds great. The only thing missing is the ball rolling sound, but maybe that will be added later :)
