Pirates Life 2.1 has a random ship selection throughout the game which opens up the game to enjoy more of Andre Pena's wise cracking callouts. There are two download options  for either Epic Metal and Split Enz Versions. 2 & 3 Screen Backglasses arena the backglass and media download as well as a comprehensive ruleset.

If you are playing VR My scripting is set to use JP's flashers for the DMD so change True to False in line 246 of the script (as below)

 UseFlexDMD = False

Also for VR users Pirates Life2.1b- EpicMetal has a bug fix for siderail name crash. There are no changes to the PiratesLife2.1b-SplitEnz Version from version 2.1a. Just keeping game names in alignment.

Pirates Life-The revenge of Cecil Hoggleston is an original game based on the story of an unfortunate lad who grows up to be the most fearsome pirate on the high seas and avenges his foes.  The game can be played by players of all levels with selection of easy or hard modes with 3 or 5 ball options. This version has a mega Pirate ship VR Room, new desktop and cabinet play looks. In the downloads you can find both Epic Metal and SplitEnz versions for Desktop/VR and cabinet modes. If playing desktop or cabinet ensure that the included .ini file is placed in the Tables folder. Also included in the downloads is a 2 & 3 screen backglasses, art pack and rules with lots of gameplay pictures. See below a link below to the youtube video where I explain the the gameplays and give you  game overview. The game has 8 modes to play, 9 ships to sink with plenty of music changes and callouts to keep you entertained. Epic metal music is kindly provided to you by Finish Composer Antii Martikainen and the incredible attract music, Hunting Pirates, is done by Finish metal group Turisas. Please check out their albums on Band Camp and any support you can give them is greatly appreciated. The game was designed around Split Enz music and pleased to provide updated versions with the original sound track. Please support this artist. The animations of the canon, shark, parrot, bobbing drunk skeleton and the dirty creature are all done by JP Salas. Beautiful transparent ramps are done by Tomate and DOF is done by Outhere. Smaug and Gramps chip in with some amusing callouts and Sixtoes was with me for the entire project providing timely advices and neat ideas. Topping off an incredible group of people who have worked on this game includes voice actor Andre Pena who does voices forScurvy Dick, Barba Blanka and the scumbag sailor. You can also checkout Andre's work with his role as Louis in resident Evil 4 zombie bang em up blockbuster game.

Before starting the game ensure you take advantage of the Lut suitable for your monitor. Hold down left magna save and change the Lut with the right magna save.

Pirates Life 1.0.6  has the original soundtrack by Split Enz and will take you on a different more relaxed journey and into the world Cecil Hoggleston via different path.

Spend 13 minutes to watch the video and learn the game. There is more in it than meets the eye.

This is an overview of the game and there is a set of rules and story in the downloads

The game is made with v10.8.0 Beta(Rev 1807(39824d6) 64 bit freezy 2.2.1.0 and flex DMD 1.9.0.0, VPinMame 3.6 & latest Backglass server B2S 2.03

For those who are struggling to get their software going, this is a link to my current, relevant VPinMame & VPinball files. You are welcome to try at your own risk. Please be aware that I am not running everything latest. For some reason I have conflicts with the RC3 and Freezy 2.2.2 and Flex DMD 1.9.1 and haven't had time to investigate this. if anyone can teach please leave your insights in the comments section.

vPinball Files working for RusstyT 2-6-24.zip

Always make sure you do a backup and always copy across the scripts. I don't recommend replacing your current 3.6VPinMame setup.exe and setup64.exe files. Thats is why I have placed them seperate to the other files.

Note: The game is designed to run JPs flashers in Desktop and VR & I do not recommend using the flex dmd option for playing with these methods.

If Playing VR change line 195 of the script to VRRoom=1

Incorporated in the Game are;

Easy and hard modes with 3 ball or 5 ball options

nFozzy Physics

Fleep Sounds

Luts

Virtual Reality

Four changes to avoid possibility of balls going to nania.

*Extra gate at ball release to stop a ball being knocked backed to the ball release kicker during multiball. This was a fix I used in TimeLord.

* Drain configuration change to prevent balls entering the drain from both sides at the same time

*Installed gates to prevent centre lane drain balls rolling back up into the outline kickers

*ball is no longer destroyed in the Golden Reef kicker. This is Now a standard kicker release

The High Score values are now set at 100,000,000 200,000,000 300,000,000 & 400,000,000

OMG!  I am trying to limit my number of tables, and there is a flood of great new ones.  Instead of limiting to 20 good tables, I will just have 30 GREAT tables!  BTW, I think the music is great also.  Thank you so much for your work!

Response from the author:

Oh wow. That's big praise. I'm like you. I'm spoilt for choice with so many great tables to choose from. Thankyou for sharing.

Wow ...... some excellent work really went into this one, I love all the extra artwork and back story associated with this table. Ladies and gentlemen... I am in awe with the talent and commitment to detail that this table brings to the community. Features a colourised dmd as well as animation on the playfield, oh yes, being an aussie I do like the music. kudos to all who contributed.

Response from the author:

Thankyou Sandman. Crank it up. If It's rockin don't bother knockin :)

Wow, some real artistic genius in this one! Where else do you get to sink skeletons on floating barrels?  Split Enz music a real treat!

THANKS for sharing! 👏

Response from the author:

Oh man. Thanks Tiger. Loving the Split Enz appreciation. cheers and the Tavern 😉

Thanks for this update to an already fantastic table. Great visuals and voice overs. Lots to do and discover also. PS - the vr is sooo good!!!

Response from the author:

Thankyou for the review and I'm glad you are enjoying it. It's a talented community who helped put this together and a blessing to have great voice over actor Andre Pena do a lot of the callouts. Callouts are my favourite part in the game development. Andre played Luis in ResidentEvil 4.

You guys are making some beautiful art here, thank you!

Response from the author:

Thanks for the review RacerRecords. It's an iterative process developing the artwork for me anyway. Originally I was thinking of changing the playfield with every mode. These are a couple to give you and idea. The final game is the 9th iteration of playfield design.

Thanks for this 👍great work, great Update.

To get it working on Android/iOS i had to edit the Script and add some Lines of Code. The included Code was not showing the FlexDMD with enabled VR-Mode, which i prefer for VPX-STANDALONE-MOBILE.

Very fussy over tables installed and the bar is set HIGH in VPX.

The flow and fun of this game is great and good addition to pirate theme. Replacing Pirates of the Caribbean & Pinball Wicked as favorite game.

Only improvement I could point out. Would be the flame effect on burning ship cycle/animation.

Excellence work.

Wow, this is a very impressive Original table. It is clear a tremendous amount of love, talent and very hard work went into this one. The visuals, the custom recorded callouts and sounds, lighting, game modes, tabel layout, scripting, ... it's all top-notch.

I love the option to chose easily at the start of the game easy or hard and 3-ball or 5 ball games. This should become the norm on every table as far I am concerned.

p.s. Also awesome to see the easter eggs !

Response from the author:

Thankyou for the review Tjaf. Much appreciated. I'm glad the game has captured your imagination. All the best.😊

This table is crazy fun!!!  I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Spooky Pinball made an offer to produce a version. Watch the rules video and fire away. In the support thread I added instructions on how to fire the cannon from the lock bar button. Maybe you could add that to the next update.

Response from the author:

Thankyou Bushav for providing scripting for lockdown bar canon fire. I greatly appreciate the review.😊

This change to fire from the lockdown bar is now included in the 2.0.3 version. People who already have the 2.0.2 version and don't have a lockdown bar action button there is no need to update to the 2.0.2 version.

Regarding to make the game fun I followed Sixtoes advice that a game should be enjoyable for players of all levels and I made sure there was no dead spots on the table. If people want to challenge themselves they have the hard option. I also appreciate that you took time to watch the video and check out the rules and show an appreciation for this work. Very few people do this and miss out on so much.

cheers🍺

Really fun table! Pirates are always a great theme for pinball; great to see such originality and quality to boot. I’m going back and forth between music versions — the 2.0 is bit more intense, but the original is refreshing. No doubt tons of work went into the table, thank you!

Response from the author:

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoy the 1.0 music. The game was originally made to be light, joyful and fun. I wanted peoples spirits to be uplifted and have a laugh. Andre Pena  had so much fun doing the callouts and was without a doubt the most enjoyable part of make a game. None of the music tracks are by accident. They are all chosen for tempo lyrics and connection to the modes. It was months of work honing in on a music design that took the game up and down. To build the game is 18 months intense work that is a full time job.  It's an incredibly gruelling process to produce a totally original table. Thankyou for acknowledging the effort. :)

Amazing table, amazing sounds. Tons of fun and I love that I was able to play in VR easily without going through a ton of rigmarole to get there. The VR room itself is tops!!

Response from the author:

Glad you're liking the VR. It's the only time you get to see the game looks like as a real pinball cab. Thanks very much for the review.

Ez eddig a legszebb asztal amin eddig játszottam. A hangok lenyűgöznek. Köszönöm

Response from the author:

Hűha. Megköszön. Először Budafesten játszottam flippert játékteremben, a flippermúzeumban. :)

Oh wow. Thankyou. The first time I played pinball in an arcade was in Budaphest at the world pinball museum. Such a beautiful city. Thankyou for sharing your intrigue with the sounds. There were many iterations to get the balance of musics, callouts and table sounds. Andre Pena was so much fun to work with doing the callouts and this was one of the highlights of making the game. All the best. I am happy to hear your intrigue. :)
