DomiKamu Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 (edited) Same in 64 bits (script crash - noticed after F3 press after ROM parameter set-up). Can be reproduced by hitting F3 key. Also: - Plunger is badly calibrated (largely too strong), in comparison with real machine! - Vari-target is too strong, too, it's nearly impossible to send the ball in the hole located behind the vari-target. It's a nice table, however, but hope the @VPinWorkshop team will fix it. Edited February 13, 2024 by DomiKamu
kdub69 Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Quick question how can I increase the volume on this table its super lower thanks!

Big Thx Same problem for me : no mechanical sound (I use SSF.) But I still have sounds with the previous "ripley" table... So I think everything is ok with the rom.

I own a ripleys and I can tell you it's nearly impossible to calibrate the machine to consistently go up to the top lanes. The rail adjustment is blocked by the post so you can't really get it to the right angle. I spent hours trying to adjust the rail and couldn't get it to do it reliably. Even when I do rarely get one to go to the top lanes it's really slow and barely gets there. I get more roll backs than anything else. Everyone goes for the skill shots though as they are incredibly valuable on this machine so I stopped futzing with it. Other than the plunge the game plays very similarly to mine. My slings are a bit weaker but the speed of the game is dead on. The kick out from the main scoop could be a bit too hard as it should settle on the right flipper after bouncing from the left. It's quite close though. Maybe it played like the vpx version when it was new but not these days I didn't find the vari-target hard to hit at all. Really nice work on this version
fiftythreefly Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 COPIED FROM COMMENT SECTION: table loads up fine, can put coins and starts and plays, but no DMD, only mechanical sounds. It SOUNDS like there might be VERY quiet audio that might be from the rom, but still no DMD? Only this table seems to have this issue. tested my rom on pinmame 3.6 and it works great but i can't get the dmd to show. i've tried changing the f1 settings but it doesn't seem to even show anywhere on my screen. usually alt-tab shows it hidden somewhere else on the screen but it's no where to be found. i downloaded a new rom and still have the same issue and that new rom plays/shows fine in pinmame as well.
LEXUS_RCF Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 (edited) hello, I found a file in Vpinmane "altsound/ripleys" that contains .ogg files, it's the music 😄 But no sounds 😪 and the name of rom in script is "ripleys", and rom name is "Ripleys" ? mechanicals sounds are ok... don't understand... Volume at 31 with key 9 before and key 8 after... Try pressing F1 while table is running, and set Alt Sound Mode to 0 in rom setting. Press OK. Restart table. Now can you hear the rom sounds? EDIT: Or set Alt Sound Mode to 1 if you are wanting to use the Altsound. Edited March 8, 2024 by xenonph
LEXUS_RCF Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 many thanks for your fast answer. it's ok now... it's hard to know between windows volume, rom volume, VPX and my ALP volume ... if one is off, you can't ear sounds or musics... I take care next time
LEXUS_RCF Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Hello, a lot of tables have to be tinkered with VPX 10.8 direct X for sound. With VPX gl, there are fewer problems. On the other hand, no F1 key, it crashes straight away. Perhaps the solution ?

I don't know why someone above said all is good now without saying what they did.
topotamolder Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) No mechanical sounds either on my SSf setup. Older Ripley table works fine. Edit: fixed by running the game with the visualpinballx64.exe (was using visualpinballx108) Edited September 14, 2024 by topotamolder Found fix
kiwidi Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Hello, in this new version, as in the previous one, there is still a slight stutter in the ball all the time, it does not happen in any other VPW table of the last ones created. I have the latest updates installed for vpx RC4, Vpinmame and b2b server. My PC is the latest in terms of specifications and in the table I have also disconnected the render probe. Does anyone know why or how to solve this continuous stuttering? Thank you very much and greetings.
DeWe Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Thx for great table, also the possibility to change the brightness and color during game. @VPinWorkshop It is possible the reduce also the brigjtness of the flasher, which are included in the grafic of the table? In the last time the brightness of the flasher are in a lot table to much. In the area around notbody can see anything from the table if the flasher are working. Maybe, if it not possible via the Magsav Keys, could it be possible to set a global variable at the start of the script, so if someone want to change this one, only one value must be changed to the personal preferred value 😀?
Gude Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I had the chance to play the real thing last weekend. First of all it is again absolutely amazing how close you come to it with your version. But there was one thing that is completely different and I wonder if I can change it in the script. There is no ball save in the beginning in your version. And this is a bit annoying... When I start a ball on the real machine "shoot again" lights up about a minute and the ball is saved when it get lost. But on your version there is no ball save in the beginning. During mutliball yes, but not when I start a ball. Is there a chance to change this in the script? On more thin was different. The first Replay started with 6 millions. When you reached it, it grows to 12 million. Your version starts directly with 12. But I guess this is something that can set up in the real machine individually? Thanks for you help.
LynnInDenver Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 As a ROM based table, the ball save would be controlled by the ROM settings, so you'd need to go into the Service Menu ("zero" key) and look in Adjustments.
Gude Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Thank you very much for the advice! I never was in the ROM settings before! Now I also know how to set my tables to Free Play
BillOz2024 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Hi Congrats on this table- it looks awesome. I'm trying to run it on my ROG Ally. The internal screen is off, and the Ally plugged into a portrait 1440x2560 monitor. I'm using ver 10.8.0 but the table has (pardon me) no balls. Is this a ROM thing? Should I try older versions of VP?
