That is how I started... do I delete the plug in text?

What do you mean with "delete the plug in text"?

Text files should not give any strange behaviour

Since the final version thread is locked. I'll post some problems here.

Smb3 both pac / pal vni crashes with no display about 5 seconds into load. 

Tmnt_104 both pac / pal vni doesn't display.

I have the new section in my dmddevice.ini

All other serum / pac / pal vni files work fine.

I tried hd = true / false, vni scaler = none / doubler / scale2x..

Anybody have these working?

@Cliffy, not sure if you've seen it., bit Freezy added a fix for this issue with link in the github post.

Yes I've been testing all morning Mike. I haven't played a lot of them through so I haven't noticed black and white scenes yet. which rom(s) are you seeing this on? I have noticed a lag on startup of data east roms but the colors are good and pups are triggering. It's also working so far with .pac as long as the files are renamed to pin2dmd.pac.

I dont think so. It worked before with Lucky1's dll's. Also, data east batman works fine, also 128x16. However, DE Checkpoint  (ckpt_a17) works but only shows all red.

Ok testing freezy's latest all 128x16 color dmd's work perfectly again AND scaled properly again as well. Dogged work by @freezy nailing this down. 

So as long as his fixes for these haven't broken all the ones I've already tested we should be good to go with nearly all formats, fsq excluded. I expect he'll be releasing the new (ahem) *final* shortly :)

Well, given 2.2.0 is final, it'll be 2.2.1 final this time. ;)

 

Just pushed another fix that will read the altColor folder for all colorization types, including Serum. So you don't have to fiddle with renaming stuff anymore, dmdext just picks the most recent one, based on the file extension.

Hi All, this might be the wrong place to post this, if it is I’m truly sorry.

it all started when I installed the new Diner color dmd, then I installed the new 2.2.0 beta. After that I installed 10.8 beta to make the diner dmd work. After trial and error I finally got what seems like all the color dmds to run correctly. 
now my biggest problem is some pup packs play and others don’t.

I really would not to like to go back to 10.7 32 bit, because I know authors are going to 10.8.

the new Johnny Mnemonic is fantastic in 10.8.

hopefully someone can help me or point me in the right direction.

rename or remove the pin2color.dll's in vpinmame folder. make sure you have a newer version of dmddevice.ini

No but Freezy has fixed this and checkpoint being all red. We just need to await the next release which shouldn't be long at all

@Cliffy You did a lot of testing, but was that only initial startup of the rom and check if that was in color ?
My sfight2 starts up with color, but starting the game, a lot of scenes are White sprites (wanted to say black and white, but black is just a turned off led)
Same for cp_16. Sometimes it shows fine, but sometimes not.
Street Fighter 2 is the one that when starting the game it directly shows a Black/white scene for the throwing part
