Silent Hill (Future Pinball - BAM)

Work in Progress Mega Video

This video covers some of the new features I've added to Silent Hill since my last posted video long ago. Some of these are:

Blender renders / creations

Updated Layout and playfield features

Seal of Metatron Magna Spinner

Inventory system

Health Item HurryUps

New Layouts

New Combat system

Melee Combat

Handgun Combat

Shotgun Combat

Iron Sights for guns

Town Map functions

Pyramid Head kills your balls

There is A LOT to show and cover, so don't let the video size throw you off.

I have chapters (listed in the video description) throughout the whole video to make it easy to find the areas of interest. Some neat new stuff you'll want to check out!

im new to this world. Is there a chance this will be on visual pinball X or Virtual Pinball M? I can see it on both

Won't happen on VPX as it's not capable of doing a table like this.

Pinball M may do their own Silent Hill table someday, but they can't do this table either :)

come on Terry, dont give up on our dreams. Im much more interested on your table than I am about this game. Being sincere.

Off-topic: most people dont care about it but i thought Silent Hill Shattered Memories was the last great Silent Hill game. I had a blast playing it on Wii.

Shattered Memories is one of the most underrated games ever made. By far the closest game in spirit to SH2 in many ways. What Climax did with that game on the Wii was amazing and way ahead of its time. I have cleared that game so many times. Way more than all the other SH games.

I still have my Wii and WiiU and played Shattered Memories not long ago with my oldest (adult) kid.

Happy 25th Silent Hill.

I finally decided to do my own video about Silent Hill 2 remake and the first two trailers we got, and I do a bit of a deep dive. Yah, it's a long video, but I do have chapters :)

So... I've been a wee bit distracted the last couple of days, as there has been a huge bunch of new Silent Hill 2 news, video trailer, behind the scenes, and first looks at the new movie coming out.

My geeked out first reaction to the Sony State of Play Release date Trailer. This is my first "react" video, with my over-geeked behavior. You're never too old for this stuff.

This is my reaction to the Silent Hill Transmission (May 2024). I have chapters for each section as its a lot of content in this transmission.

Note, that live stream video quality is bad compared to the actual game and a high quality trailer. I have linked the 4K standalone high quality trailers which look MUCH better.

These are all the standalone videos in MUCH better 4K quality!

This past week there has been an explosion of Silent Hill 2 Remake promotions on every game site and all over Youtube. Many reviewing sites / press got a chance to preview and play the game for a few hours. I was very happy to hear they all have very similar reactions. Words like "pleasantly surprised", "much better than you've been led to believe", "shockingly good" has been used by all of them.

This literally warms my heart as this game means so much to myself and so many others, as we've waited so many years for a modern remake of this special game.

I'm also very happy for Bloober Team (the developers of the game) as they have had to endure so much online over the last 2 years (the internet can be full of nasty people). However, they have continued to be professional, focused and passionate about their work on this game. Based on everyone's reactions it has clearly paid off!

We had two great surprises... a new Story Trailer and some new gameplay footage!

These videos are my reaction to the new Story trailer and the 27 mins of new gameplay footage. All I can say is that I was an emotional mess (in a very good way) watching these. You couldn't ask for a more perfect trailer that paid homage and respect to the original game's trailer while showing off the amazing new work that has been done.

I can't wait for Oct 8th!

Only 20 hours to go until the (early access) release of Silent Hill 2 Remake. I've been waiting years for this!

The reviews have been flooding in. The game has been scored extremely well. As a 23 year Silent Hill fan who has been rooting for this game and the developer for the last 2 years... this is kind of mind blowing. Everyone is kind of in shock that Bloober Team have done what many considered the impossible.

Love the game, and happy they remastered it, but $70 usd for a remaster is way over priced for me and sets a bad trend in the gaming community that if people will pay that for a old game remastered, they will pay more for new ones. Might just be me, but I am waiting for a steam sale to get this one. Too bad though, was really wanting to play this too.

This is not a remaster. A remaster is taking the same original 23 year old game, and just updating it with slightly nicer graphics / textures.

This is a Remake. A complete new game that takes the same beats / story as the original, but make an entire new modern game. It has way more content / features, complete new controls / combat (which is awesome btw). They are very different games. The original game would last 8 hours. This game on average is 16 hours, but can easily go up to 22 hours.

It's not cheap I agree.... but this is not just some cash grab remaster. Not even close. This game has legit surprised everyone. Fan or not, I am blown away at what they've done with this game.

Nice to hear that. Thought it was a complete remaster, not remake so thought they were doing a cash grab. Happy they are not.

I really want to play, but yeah, see them trying to get that PS5 and Xbox price tag on it. lol. Silent Hill games are one of my favs. Loved them, so excited to play, but gotta wait for a sale. Money tight with school, etc.

Boy, time flies. I just wanted to pop in to say, yes.... this table is very much back in progress.

I have been working on it since around Feb, but progress is slower since I'm back to work fulltime now (and my energy afterward is low, as I'm not at 100% health) . I've pretty much redesigned most of the table with many new functions and systems in place. It's quite different in many ways, but has some cool new things I can't wait to show.

I've also been learning how to combine / bake many 100's of models into a singular model and texture. This was needed to allow them all to have proper baked lighting and shadows projected onto everything, and since many models use repeated tiled textures, this required a proper method in Blender to make that happen. This was something I was worried may not be possible, but I got it working, and its looking so much better than I expected.

Once I'm at a point of having the introduction portion completely done, I'll start sharing new some screenshots and gameplay (the table looks completely different). Needless to say, there is a staggering amount more to do, but once these new features and systems are ironed out, progress should go faster after that.

Wow. Its a good time to be a video game horror fan!

We all knew Konami and Bloober Team were working together again on another game after the immense success of the amazing Silent Hill 2 Remake. We just didn't know what it was... but I suspected what it would be.

Konami snuck in some amazing news at the end of their video event today. Bloober Team and Konami are making a new Silent Hill 1 remake game!

I am freaking excited... and I'm still on the high of the Silent Hill 2 remake... let alone the upcoming Silent Hill f, and Bloober's own Cronos The New Dawn!

The upcoming Silent Hill f is a new Silent Hill game that takes place in 1960's Japan. While traditional Silent Hill games have been western inspired horror told through a Japanese filter, this game is Japanese horror told through a Silent Hill filter. The new trailer showed freaky / creepy gameplay and a release date of Sept 25th. It's gotten very positive reactions, and I'm very excited to play a new take of the Silent Hill formula!

We also got new gameplay footage and a fall release date for Bloober Team's original new Cronos The New Dawn game! It looks like a mix of The Thing, Sci-fi and action horror. I'm very excited to see how this turns out, as The Thing is one of my favorite movies, and the visuals and style of this game totally appeal to me.

I've been working away at my Silent Hill fan-based tribute pinball video game. The new Silent Hill 2 remake has inspired me to redesign most of the game and its coming along well, but its got a long way to go. I better get on it though as I want it done before the Silent Hill 1 remake comes out, haha!

Glad Konami have listened to the fans for once, I also find it funny how its turned out because majority of the fans thought it was gonna be a remake of silent hill 3 after 2 because of the leaked info saying project H, we all knew this could mean Harry or Heather, I am certainly glad its Harry,  Silent Hill is my Number 1 favourite survival horror game of all time, With my profile name  you could say I am a BIG fan of the franchise.  I am even more pleased to hear you are working on this table again, Please continue to put your health first and foremost Mr Red with the Up Most Due Respect to you Sir , I have been eagerly waiting since the announcement of retro flair 2 silent hill mode, I still like to show my friends the YouTube videos you created of the project to show them how cool it looks and that to say is the early prototype videos of your project and then to the Halloween Thriller Video (for those who have not seen it watch this video below) this video BLEW MY MIND,  I can wait as long as it needs, because its most probably gonna be my favourite table of all time and Terry Red's Greatest Masterpiece. I so wished I could be part of the project in some way but the best I could do is make a PNG for atgames legends pinball backglass and a wheel image for pinup popper, proper noob here I am going to look into creating b2s backglasses and puppacks but dont want to leap before I jump so backglass first lol, Although saying this there is one thing I may be able to contribute to the project, Back in the days I think it may have between 2003 and 2008 I made a Silent hill Mixtape which has loops and samples from the first 4 soundtracks with different types of beats on top of them but I also mixed in the game music and other peoples silent hill inspired beats of the time and it also goes funny at the end but it was on purpose because I put the ufo ending music to feal like you just completed the game with special ending. I can send you the mp3 if you interested I think you maybe able to get some cool loops from it for table action, scoring sounds.

Anyways i have jibbered enough thankyou for your work Terry I cant wait to see whats next and but I hope its gonna be Silent.

WORK IN PROGRESS

New design - Blender Renders of the first playfield layout

Let a new round of teases begin!

After a long absence, I've been working away like crazy on my Silent Hill pinball game. I've gone back and redesigned most of the game to incorporate more features, and to add in ideas I really wanted to do when I started making this game years ago. I've learned so much over the last few years, that I can now implement some really cool stuff, but it takes a long time to create, test, and implement them since there isn't really other examples for me to go by. Sometimes a new idea works great, sometimes not. I've also implemented all new sounds, a new inventory system, new monster models / animation / combat, all new artwork, and much more.

This game is different than other pinball games. As you progress through the story of the game (it's a big game), the layout / visuals / mechanics, etc will change. The top half of the playfield will completely change as will many different ramp combinations (kind of like Multimorphic P3 pinball machines, only it's multiple layouts in one single game). The smaller black openings are for inserts and toys. The large black section at the mid-bottom is an opening. There will be displays, and other things that appear in there that move and change up as well. The round bumper section (for this one playfield layout) also moves and changes up as you progress. Everything on the game is modular and can be changed up to have lots of possible combinations if wanted... but that is evolving as I create / update the game more.

Here are some Blender renders of the "start" of the game. One of many different looks and layouts. LOTS of baking to do as I go on.

I'll eventually have some in-game screenshots, and when I finish the last part of the first Scene / Chapter, I'll make a demo video at some point. Can't wait to show you how much this has changed.

SILENT HILL (Future Pinball - BAM)

WORK IN PROGRESS

Screenshots - New Foggy Town - Scene 1

Here's a peek at some in-game screenshots of the start of the game. Silent Hill is different than all other pinball games. There are aspects that will change as you progress through the game story. This includes the upper half of the playfield, the ramps, the bumper section, the middle open video display area, and more will completely change. The playfield layouts, and looks will change from the foggy town of Silent Hill to the hellish Otherworld. The cabinet artwork and coin door also transitions from foggy to rusty.

The video shows there is a pesky Lying Figure monster crawling around waiting to have a bash with a silverball.

More new screenshots of the Nightmare Alley Otherworld will come soon.
