Maybe the proces hasn't been completed in the background yet (there are a couple of seconds delay builtin)
You could try to wait 30 seconds after you exit a game to start it again and see if that helps

I played for about 4 hours, playing around 30 matches, some more intense than others. I tested different frontends and also played without a frontend. I tried many variations, including closing and reopening Pinemhi for each match, even waiting several minutes between them, but the randomness of the issue persists.

You don't have to exit after every game , if you have a bad game or just not worth of submitting the score you can just start a new game without exiting the game
and when you have a good enough score you just exit

I know this, and that's usually how I play, but it doesn't change anything. The issue persists only for non-ROM games.

Capcom scores are submitted just fine! One day i will find out about the romless scores 😉

After you exit a game it now may take a few seconds before the switch key responds and switches to normal/5 minute mode

 

 

I have checked repeatedly yesterday:  the rom monitor is running and you switch to 5-minute mode. If you stop VPX within the 5-minute frame right after having started a new game (no plunge, zero score would be submitted) then the rom monitor is not running any longer. You have to restart the rom monitor. I did not check yet, if its the same for regular mode, too. (I do not use a front end, plain VPX only)

Ok that is unexpected behaviour

I'll test it on my system and see if i can reproduce it

 

Just to be sure, is pinemhi_rom_monitor completely stopped when this happens or perhaps is it just unresponsive
maybe you can check by running taskmanager next time before you restart pinemhi_rom_monitor when you experience this to see if it can be found in the background processes
that way we know for sure if the pinemhi_rom_monitor is killed somehow

I've tested it on my system but pinemhi_rom_monitor keeps just keeps running , tried no plunge zero score multiple times

OK, its the leaderboard task that is taking (unusual) long to do its task (about 10 sec?). In the meantime pinemhi is not responding and feels like its aborted. So, its just being me impatient.

There are some builtin delays , perhaps i can make them less (hoping that it won't affect the slow pc's though)
I think you notice it the most when switching from mode after you exit a game, the switch key only becomes active after the leaderboard task has finished

2 versions ago that wasn't the case and it was almost immediately

Rollergames rom is on the list, but scores (5min mode) are not registered (normal mode works fine), at least for me, tried several times...

It doesn't work for both modes actually


It's clear as to why this is in the logging (for me :) )

In romfind.ini there isn't a match for Rollergames (LA-2)
Probably due to renaming in a vpinmame release

 

This is why it's always handy to send your logfile or a bit of it as well because then i would have known the problem right away

and of course save me some time figuring it out by myself  ;)

 

 

It's an easy fix though, just add this line to the romfind.ini file

Rollergames (LA-2)=rollr_l2.nv

 

I'll put it in the romfind.ini for the next release

I believe it happened this way: 5 minute mode is running - played and finished a low score game - started a new game - noticed time is nearly over - quit VPX to restart 5 minute period. Then a zero score should be submitted, instead a 14 million plus score was somehow  'created' and submitted. Spyhunter was the first rom that did this.

Me presento soy Ale 54 VPA Team, un gusto compartir el amor por el pinball, una genialidad el programa Pinemhi que nos permite compartir los score con la comunidad a la vez que nos permite competir sanamente por eso mi respecto a Makmak que demostro ser un caballero honorable al solicitar que se arregle el error de los 14000000.

Dear 

Today I played the 5-minute mode on Title Fight, and in the first game it recorded a score of 15,000,000. However, I believe the system recorded it incorrectly, as it took me more than 5 minutes to reach that score.

I later scored 48,000,000 twice, and finally 13,000,000 — all within 5 minutes, timed with my own watch. Because of this, I think the first score should be removed.

Did the game stop by itself when you had the 15 Million plus game

There could be like maybe 10 seconds longer gameplay as the 5 minutes go in a little bit later than when you start the game

On 5 minute mode the game shuts down itself, don't know if you knew that....you can just keep playing till it stops the game (no need for a stopwatch , but could be handy if you want to drain a ball just before the time ends to collect end of ball  bonuses ;) )

 

On what pinemhi version are you?

With previous versions there was a bug where  after you switch from 5 minute mode and vice versa that score counted on the wrong mode

If you upgrade from version 3.6.3 or 3.6.4 or 3.6.5 then you don't have to overwrite your pinemhi.ini
Upgrade from earlier version(s) than 3.6.3 should overwrite their pinemhi.ini and copy the values back into it as changes have been made to pinemhi.ini

Best is to make a backup from your old pinemhi.ini so that you can copy the values into the new pinemhi.ini

normally it should not get the page from cache but for some reason with the menu on the right it doesn't work
The rest of the pages work fine (not getting the page from cache)

Hi DnaDisturber, Thank you for your work on PINemHi. Any chance you will eventually be adding support for the roms for the tables below from Atari, Zaccaria and Stern Electronics? At least I don't think they are currently supported by PINemHi.
