The Dude v2.0 (Big Lebowski) 10.7 only!!  (310 - 334 tested and working)

  • based on Strikes and Spares (Bally 1978)
  • originally created by 32assassin (2017)
  • "the Dude" mod and concept by idigstuff
  • PUP conversion by hawkeyez88  if you want to play this table with the video Callouts you MUST have the puppack
  • Table Updated by HauntFreaks (2021)
  • Testers:  Hawkeyez88, FriscoPinball, Scampa123

*this can be played with ot without the the pup pack BUT... without the PUP there will be NO movie callouts

so whats new?

  • HauntFreaks - complete graphical makeover
  • FluffHead35 - full physics treatment
  • Wylte - script controlled PIN toys

so you think it just strikes and spares?
I've moved some of the elements of the layout around to be more aesthetically pleasing but maintaining its form and function

if your going to play this in DeskTop mode , in the GUI you must check this box so you will see the scoring displays

It's 9pm in Australia on a Monday, I'm tired as shit and I know if I put this on the cab tonight I'll be entering a world of pain... so good night sweet prince.

Everything's a fuckin' travesty with you man!

EDIT - I downloaded, I'm playing and I'm enjoying. I woke up my children, when they asked me what I was doing, I just said "Don't mess with the Jesus"...they're kids I had to keep it PG.

Another awesome release Hauntfreaks and team!

Just when I thought something new couldn't be done, there it is!  Score being captured on DMD via the B2S with a PuP Pack running on the backglass!!  Very cool and opens up so many new possibilities.

Fun mod, thanks! I have a question about how to get this table playing properly with the PUP pack. When I load the table, the PUP pack shows (while the table is still loading), but then only the frame of the PUP/Backglass screen stays on.

I can hear the PUP pack videos playing in the background, but I don't see them once the table has finished loading.

I do see the third screen b2s DMD scoring showing on my DMD monitor, but not the videos from the PUP pack.

If I rename the db2s files (so it does not match the vpx file name), The PUP pack videos play properly...but then I lose the scoring DMD.

Any thoughts on how I can get this table to play nice with the PUP pack? Thank you.

You will have to create a custom .res file for this table and place it in your table folder. Use the settings found in your screenres.txt file and edit the 4th line down.  set this line to 1.  attached is my file as an example.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time tracking down why I couldn't get 10.7 to read my custom res file with the changes even though I added the correct extension when it occurred to me that Windows likes to lie to the user about file names. I went to a command prompt, and sure enough, because I started with screenres.txt and re-saved it as the dude blah blah.res, it was actually being saved as the dude blah blah.res.txt and windows was hiding the txt extension in windows explorer. Highly recommend going to a command prompt and double checking.

Open up a file manager window at the top click on view
then check file name extensions and then you can see them

You are right, that's another way to double check if you don't like a command prompt. I'm a command line geek back from the days of DOS 2.0. It's why I should have known better.:)

I love this table thank you!

I am also unable to get the B2S to load the DMD B2S when the pup starts. I tried the screen.res and screen.txt nothing worked as that didn't change anything.

Looked into the script to see if any options were available but I did not see anything.

Any help to get this to work would be much appreciated.

Its not working in PinBallX. Outside of PinBallX it works fine?

This original Bally table has always been one of my favorite actual tables for sentimental reasons but the older VPX version isn't as pretty as this one so I put this on the cabinet as well.

My problem (with BOTH versions) is this: ball movement is glitchy, mostly at the top of the table. I have a behemoth PC running everything and this is the only one of the 496 tables installed that shows this weird ball movement. The only way I can explain it (it's not stuttering) is if I had an actual pinball that wasn't perfectly round/balanced and it would do weird things as you were playing. I don't know how else to describe it. The ball doesn't move realistically. I assumed maybe it's a setting like friction or something but once I start messing with those I will probably make it a lot worse. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Using the latest versions of everything as well.

Thanks.
