A VPX version of Expressway.  I was able to find a lot of information on this table and a number of pictures.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find head-on pictures that would be easy to use for artwork.  So, I needed to do some photo manipulation and some artwork on my own.  This table is definitely limited by my artistic ability!

I think this is a decent first attempt, but there are a lot of things that could be added or improved.

Please let me know if you find something that doesn't work or is not accurate to the real machine.

** You have my permission and encouragement to improve this table! **

I started this table by stripping down the On Beam table, and I also used resources from Flip Flop, Fireball, Capersville and Sea Ray.  Probably a few other EM tables too.

I find this to be a pretty fun table - the main goal is to light the letters E-X-P-R-E-S-S-W-A-Y in sequence.

I spent a little time learning how the new F12 options menu works.  So, there are several options available on page 3 of that menu.  Some are from the Bally manual and some are my own.  For example, I found pictures with red, yellow, and black flippers and I'm not sure what the original machine had - so I made it something you can pick from that menu.

What's New in Version 1.2   See changelog

Released

-By Request - Added a F12 menu option to hide the machine frame in cabinet mode.  I don't use a cabinet, so let me know if this wasn't what you wanted.

-Fix (Thanks ArmyAviation!)- Bumper sounds.  Sounds were only playing if bumper was lit.

-Added another F12 option for awarding the Mileage Bonus quicker.  After watching some video, I think the real machine is quicker than how I coded the table.  By default, it still counts the slower way.

If you can just modify the eos torque for flipper down (inside the script) from 0,15 to 0,65 and it is much better, the flipper are more responsive

I tuned a little bit only the physic:

- increased playfield friction

- flipper more responsive

- Slinghot values modifed to be more strong

- plunger shot improved increased the paramenter MaxVel inside the script

Let me now if you fell better:

Try these parameters for a fine physic tuning on 1.0 version:

- decreased gravity costant from 1 to 0,97

- flipper are more responsive (more quick) and increased power from 1200 to 1300

- Slinghot values modifed to be more strong

- plunger shot improved increased the paramenter MaxVel inside the script

First of all the visual update is stunning and I was so looking for this after the first release so great job! I know and recognize the work of several EM veterans :) and many thanks to the original author for starting the work on this table. However, I noticed the severe performance downgrade, dropped frames and lag in the new table, something that I don't see with other, even super polished, EM tables. Yes, my GTX belongs to history but still, haven't seen this with other EMs? Any ideas? Can this be fixed?

hmm - try going into the F12 menu, then in the options on page 3 make sure flipper physics is set to standard and limit ball velocity is no.  Both of those use a fairly fast timer, that probably uses a lot of cpu.  I have a fairly old machine and haven't noticed a problem myself, but everyone's setup is unique.  You could try also closing the backglass "B2s" - to see if there's some kind of conflict there.  On a few tables I think it messes with my flippers.

Turning off ball velocity limiter and setting b2s animations to off improved my performance significantly. I'm still not sure which one was a bigger issue, kinda suspecting the backglass server. Anyhow thank you so much PinRich!!!

Thanks a lot for sharing another cool table, PinRich!

I made new plastics from some cool pictures from The IPMD and retrace your playfield on Illustrator. The playfield just needs to adjust a couple of lights. All the plastics need some minor adjustment but  I put a white outline to make the changes a bit easier.

Thank you.

It would be nice to have an option in the F12 menu to hide the side rails for cabinet users.

In fact, that should be a default option for all tables... or even better, hiding them automatically in cabinet mode.

table is very nice, the only critique would be the bumper sounds are very low, the fx_bumper sounds right so need to look at the script
