A VPX version of Expressway.  I was able to find a lot of information on this table and a number of pictures.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find head-on pictures that would be easy to use for artwork.  So, I needed to do some photo manipulation and some artwork on my own.  This table is definitely limited by my artistic ability!

I think this is a decent first attempt, but there are a lot of things that could be added or improved.

Please let me know if you find something that doesn't work or is not accurate to the real machine.

** You have my permission and encouragement to improve this table! **

I started this table by stripping down the On Beam table, and I also used resources from Flip Flop, Fireball, Capersville and Sea Ray.  Probably a few other EM tables too.

I find this to be a pretty fun table - the main goal is to light the letters E-X-P-R-E-S-S-W-A-Y in sequence.

I spent a little time learning how the new F12 options menu works.  So, there are several options available on page 3 of that menu.  Some are from the Bally manual and some are my own.  For example, I found pictures with red, yellow, and black flippers and I'm not sure what the original machine had - so I made it something you can pick from that menu.

Wow!!! Your work turned out great... I'll see what I can improve here... but the result is already very good... congratulations!

Response from the author:

Awesome!  The plastics could definitely use some help.  I notice I forgot to put a "groove" in the shooter lane as well.  I'm not confident that I drew all of the playfield art in exactly the correct spots.  So - there's plenty of room for improvement.  Thanks!!

great job on this.... looks good plays good....

only thing that it might need is the option if you tilt you lose the ball in play only....
right now tilt is set as the game ends...

Thank you very much for this recreation! I guess this is the very first Expressway table for VPX, since there's only one version for FP, by Popotte. This table brings me a lot of good memories, it's one of my favorite tables I've played back in the 70's (along with D. Gottlieb's King Pin and Big Brave, as well as Williams' Jubilee). I think that with some very little improvements, the table will be a classic on VPX. And please, don't change phyiscs too much, because it's just perfect for me! It kicked me back to the times I've played this baby for hours. Keep up the good work!

Cheers,

Gus
