NOTE: This download includes an NVRAM file that resets the Flip-O-Meter “fastest flip-to-date” score back to zero. This allows players to set and compete against a fresh high-speed record rather than inheriting an existing value from the ROM. Thanks Thalamus!

ENTER THE VECTORDOME AND PLAY BALLY'S GAME OF THE FUTURE

Vector is Bally’s ambitious early-80s take on a “game of the future,” built around a bi-level playfield, four flippers, and a rule set that strongly rewards accuracy/nudging. Guided by the PAC (Play Analysis Computer), the main objective is to access the Vectorscan ramp and build towards your MultiBall.

The Vectorscan ramp is the signature shot. A successful flip is measured by the Flip-O-Meter, which converts shot speed directly into points and tracks the fastest flip-to-date. Beating that record awards a Special, while the Bonus Light uses the same display to show your Vectorscan bonus.

Entry to the ramp is guarded by the Defender drop targets. Completing Defenders 1–3 in sequence qualifies the top saucers for locked balls, while out-of-sequence hits require additional targets to be cleared. The upper playfield’s X-Y-Z targets can remotely drop the Defender targets.

Vector is known for being tough. Many objectives require shots in sequence, making full 3-ball Multi-Ball a real challenge. At the same time, the lower playfield side saucers give skilled nudgers a chance to recover balls that would normally drain, adding an extra layer of control if you’re paying attention.

Visually, Vector benefits from a darker overall environment, which helps the bi-level playfield stand out and makes the Vectorscan ramp and Flip-O-Meter feel more dramatic. That’s how I prefer to play it, but brighter lighting options are included and can be adjusted in the table settings for players who prefer a more evenly lit or classic look. Dip switches are set to the factory-recommended default settings for authenticity. Updating line 62 for SetDIPSwitches=1 allows for adjustments using the F6 menu.

What a fantastic, realistic recreation of a classic 80's Bally! The look, the feel, @Mecha_Enron has captured it all wonderfully. The ball physics feel dead on and man what a fun yet tough game it is. Thanks so much for investing the time and skill and managing to wrangle some of the absolute best in the hobby to help polish 'er off!

Amazing, never really could enjoy older versions of this Table but this one is absolutely playable, really nice, and with Hauntfreaks new Backglass finally this Table comes of age. Thanks so much.

Incredible achievement! It plays like a dream, the 3D, light and texture baking  is so hyperreal, Fleep sounds and gameplay so good!

Thank you for the hard work on this table, I will be playing this a lot. It is such a quirky table!

I also love Hauntfreak's backglass, great art! Really complements this master piece.

PS: traditionally, the metal wire ramp Fleep sound(s) can overload SSF exciters (not just this table). I was able to find the RampRollVolume parameter in the script and lower the volume (0.02 is great for me) . It would be great to have as a F12 option.

Wow... I did not expect this to be such a great table! I've had in the back of my head that most of the solid state tables have been recreated really well in VPX already. Well... I didn't know about this one, and it is such a blast! Well done Mecha Enron for bringing this one to the community. Thanks also to Hauntfreaks for the great B2s.

I'd been enjoying the older version on and off.
What a massive upgrade! I love the physics and SSF.

It's a tough table but now feels like I'm much more immersed than before. Looking forward to putting some more time into it and improving on my current 2M high score

A surprisingly high climbing vector indeed. I didn't know what to expect, as I am not usually a fan of games of this era that try to blend in some version of a sport and pinball. They usually don't work, but this version must get everything that could be right about this layout and makes it sing. It feels like playing a perfectly tuned in version of Vector, and I can really see what the designer was hoping the game would feel like. It's a lot of fun, and it's got a depth to it that really pleases. The saucers on the lower as a nudger's way to save the ball are quite pleasing, and I can imagine that this machine would be a great way to learn to use and control nudges (the real version).

10 outta 10, looks and plays amazing! Thanks for recognizing this lesser-known early 80s Bally with your hard work, it's so weird and cool. 😎 Cheers! 🍻

Absolutely fantastic! This is way better than the other version of the table I had. Someone had one of these locally for sale near me at a convention and I got a chance to play it in person. This looks pretty sweet!
