Rise through the ranks of the Astral Allegiance Corps from Space Cadet to Fleet Admiral! A whole new spin on a classic introduces a brand new story, new characters, voice acting, and more!

Here are a list of updates and new features:
- Full PuPDMD
- Brand new Soundtrack (Thanks to BadGuysGetDead. Find more of his great work at: badguysgetdead.com)
- All new graphics and lighting
- nFozzy physics
- Fleep Sounds
- 18 Missions

- Cutscenes
- VR rooms (Thanks Ext2k and Panasony)
and more!

Tested using VPX 10.8 RC 7 (Open GL and DX) and Pinup Player 1.5. May work on other versions, but no guarantee.

SSF Users
If the table sound effects are just WAY too intense, try one of two options.
1. In the Table Options Menu, Page 4, drop the "Table Sounds" down to maybe 50%. Save and restart the table. If that isn't satisfactory than...
2. Go into Sound Manager, highlight all sounds that start with "SC_" hit "Toggle BG Out," then "OK"

For some reason, these sound effects have always been very "tinny" set to backglass with my surround sound set-up. Moving them to the table made them sound AMAZING on my system, but everyone has a different set-up!
I've considered remixing the balance for these sound effects in Adobe Audition, but wanted to get more feedback first.  Leave a comment, if you have any suggestions that might help!

Special thanks to JPSalas for letting me create this version. Space Cadet has always been one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy!

Released

Additions:
JPs Space Cadet (GE)V1-1.ini added to table zip file

usePuPDriver.ini added to pup pack zip file (Thanks NailBuster)

Fixes:
The Micro-stutter with Pup pack Options 1 and 2 should be gone now.
Dropped the flipper strength down a bit and adjusted the elasticity for the top right targets to help avoid air balls that launched the ball onto the plastics.
Adjusted top left bumper physics to (hopefully) avoid the ball perpetually bouncing off the wall and bumper. (It's rare, but it happened with JP's original table too)
Tested and confirmed FlexDMD does now work with no real performance hit (for me, at least).

4:1 DMD Users
I still discourage turning FlexDMD on, as Option 2 of PuPDMD handles all that same info and it could potentially cause a performance hit, but if you can't live without it, change "UseFlexDMD" from False to True on line 51 of the script.

Please download and install both the table and the pup pack (link in the description) to help ensure things run smoothly.

Thanks to everyone who helped me isolate and test the issues!

Well, I was pleasantly surprised. I came in thinking I would detest this cause I loved the original so much. I thought it would be jsut a simple reskin, but boy was I wrong! This is a salute and a hommage to the original, and it takes everything that made the original great and cranks it up to 11.

I was sort of expecting the pupdmd not to work for Desktop Users, as many pupdmd packs out there don't support Desktop users, not that they can't just the creators dont take the time to set it up properly to run on desktops. But this worked flawlessly right out of the gate. Which is no small task, I know from experience. Then the magic happens in the new music, which takes the original music but adds flair and spice to distinguish itself apart from the original but still respects and honors its influence. I  truly appreciate that.

Then the art of the PupDMD done with lots of clarity and vibrance further makes this an amazing experience to behold. The changing playfield art and models for missions, lighting, and colors. It was all taken into deep consideration.

I can truly say this table earned a big spot in my heart, for its excellence in paying homage to the original all the while distinguishing itself a cut above and beyond. You guys knocked this out of teh park, and Even if you never played the original You will love this table without a shadow of a doubt. It has vibes of TNA and Cyberrace and the missions are hard but fair, which makes it so much more replayable. To see a package be released that didnt cut any corners is a true gem, Justice was served here with an ass-kicking to boot.

Thank you soo much to all who worked on this creation. It is truly a work of art. and Will be enjoyed for a long time to come. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. I was pleasantly surprised. A team that can visualize and conceptualize such a feat has no doubt talent to boot. Be proud! This surpassed all my expectations and will for many others too. THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Response from the author:

Thanks, man! As someone who produces some really great tables, this means a lot.

It was my first time working with PuPDMD, so I definitely learned as I went along, but Nailbuster and TerryRed have some great tutorials.

Can´t believe it’s been 30 years! I remember back in 1995 my dad had bought a PC with Windows 95.  It came pre-loaded with 3 games, Minesweeper, Solitaire and yes,  3D Space Cadet pinball. This was the first pinball game I ever tried on a PC, and boy was it cool. The music, the missions and of course the gameplay. I played the heck out of that thing. Years later JP Salas gave it a go. This was a true game changer, and it totally rocked in VPX. But now after 30 years, this table has been perfected. The layout, the lighting, the missions , the glorious pup DMD, and the amazing updated music . This is  a true  love letter to its origins. In a way my virtual pinball experience on PC has now come full circle. This is an incredible achievement @funkatron101 Thank you so much for your amazing work!!

You elevated a classic table tastefully and without making it unrecognisable. It looks awesome and plays beautifully,

well done.

One of the easiest 5 star reviews ever.

I was not expecting this level of polish.

Knock me out of my chair with a smile.

The pup is amazing, a real piece of art.

Thank you!

If you liked the classic Windows pinball game back then (and why wouldn't you?), this is a must-have!
The first version was already an enjoyable game, but this upgrade has made it complete, you could say expanded the first version! Great graphics on the pf, excellent puppack and great SSF effects, as well as the possible 18(!!!) missions make the whole thing complex! My first test game turned out pretty good, it was almost half an hour of play. Even so, I only managed to finish 3 missions, so it's challenging!
Thanks and gratitude to all the creators who participated in the project and a big thank you for publishing it! ❤️

Blast From the Past Meets the Future - Right from the plunger, Space Cadet: Galaxy Edition rekindles the spark of nostalgia for those who fondly remember the iconic 3D Space Cadet pinball game bundled with Windows 95. But this isn't just a scroll-down review or even a stroll down memory lane—it's a warp-speed journey into a brilliantly re-imagined version that takes the original and turns it into a stunning funfair.

Visual and Aural Overhaul - The makeover begins with new graphics and lighting that breathe modern life into the beloved old-skool table. The visual upgrade is complemented by a dynamic new soundtrack crafted by BadGuysGetDead, enhancing the game's immersion while respectfully nodding to its vintage roots.

New Missions and Gameplay - Funkatrons/JP's remake isn't just about looks. It's packed with content too — all 18 missions of it. The mission system makes clever use of the PuPDMD system, highlighting your progress with vibrant cutscenes. This causes every flip, nudge, and tilt to feel like an essential part of an interstellar campaign.

Tech Tips - PuPDMD and VR room ensure a natural player experience, whoever you are on desktops or in VR. The right dose of nFozzy physics and Fleep sounds further refine the gameplay, making every interaction feel *more*.

Verdict - JP's Space Cadet:GE might start you on a nostalgia trip, but before you know it, you're on a mission. It's an impressive homage that celebrates the past while also expanding. For those who loved the original or even total newcomers to digital pinball alike, this table is a must-play—both an artwork and a masterclass in sophisticated remakes. This will sell Windows 95 --- strikethru --- or least make pinball live forever.

Thanks a Funk for this one! 💯 (and the patch so far!)

This effort is right up my alley. Take a beloved table/theme and improve it substantially. It is a difficult challenge as many people have fond memories that can be easily ruined but this update is very well done with lots of thought and consideration having been applied. Great Job Funkatron101!

The concept of missions really helps with the replayability, nFozzy and Fleep additions are always welcome when done properly. Lastly, mad props for diving into the pupDMD abyss, the water looks warm and inviting but it is more like jumping into the ocean during a thunderstorm. When you come out the other end of it you are so thankful and rewarded for your efforts!!!  Can't wait to see your next project..

Response from the author:

Thanks for the kind words! I talked to a friend once about the Windows game. I mentioned the mission objectives and he replied "Wait, there were missions!?!" This is the main reason why I wanted to emphasize them as much as possible for this.

PuPDMD seemed like a great way to showcase and highlight the missions and hopefully the mission completion mode will keep players coming back for more.

Now that I've swam PuPDMD waters, I'm hooked!

Absolutely blown away by the depth and life you've given this classic! BadGuysGetDead tipped me off to this table and I knew it was going to be a BANGER! There's so much to gush over! The table changes are so fluid and the PUP plays beautifully, even using VPXGL Beta on the Legends 4k! KUDOS!!!!

This table looks amazing. Unfortunately I can't enjoy it for long because Pinup Popper always crashes after a couple of minutes for me. That's not this table's fault; it's just not a stable program it seems.

So yeah I probably won't be playing this table much, but I still love it.

Response from the author:

That's a big bummer. Do you know which version of Pinup Player/Popper you are using? Perhaps it needs an update?

Love this table. I think it goes way past the space cadet inspiration and stands on it's own. The art really takes it over the edge to being something special.

Some feedback. I wish mission status was easier to see if the view is more zoomed in. I am wasting a lot of real-estate just to see the lights when the pup pack has so much space. I also wish it was easier to see what missing you picked when you cradle the ball. Usually all you see is "Accept mission", and nothing on the lights

Response from the author:

The mission status on the apron does tie into other later functions that are table code dependant. In a future update, I may consider having some indicator for the PuPDMD itself. I have an idea of how that would work, but it would take some testing.

As far as the instant info. When you select a mission, or are in a mission, it should show up after about 2 seconds of cradling the ball. Perhaps I need to extend the time it is displayed. I'll review this function before the next update.

Great mod but this female voiceover is very irritating. I don't like her voice tone.

Cajmir

This is a high quality table. The changing of the table graphics in mid game is pretty unique and damn cool.

Zoddhand

This is so good. I already love playing the original version (and still will) but this just takes it to the next level. I just upgraded from a dmd to a 3rd lcd screen and this is a great game to justify the swap.

deadmanworking

Such a cool homage to the original while set firmly with both feet in the state of the art of what a table should look and feel like in 2025!

vfrluke

Love the original, this one is amazing!

I'm with Joey P, I was pleasantly surprised. Always liked this table but the VR, nFozzy and Fleep take it to the next level, thanks!!

Well done, very well done.  Thanks for sharing.  Keep 'em coming :)

Tron

Simply put....its fucking fun!   Love the sound effects, layout is not to simple or overly complex and the act of having the playfield change on you is amazing, well done!

Michaelkap70

Absolutely gorgeous. Smooth gameplay. This may set the standard on VPX tables with pup packs.
