Dvs626 brings you a rare glimpse at a machine with no more than 500 made.

 

This project was an important one for me as I so happen to own this rare Italian made gem in my own personal collection.
I personally scanned all the graphics to make this as close to the real thing as your ever going to get!

Made by upstart Italian pinball company "Apple Time", Thunder Man is notable in theme only for blatantly ripping off the Kurt Russell movie "Escape From New York", released some years previously. Game is a clone of Gottlieb Bounty Hunter.

With the help of some amazing talented people in the vpin community who helped me bring this machine to the next level:

This table is utter insanity.. and I love it! So who came up with the idea to mix Snake Plissken with Young Sherlock Holmes and then put Tutankahmon  and futuristic police cars (!) on top of it?  The creators of Thunder Man apparently. Concept wise this table makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. But gameplay wise this is FAR better than the original creators deserve. It looks and plays awesome. Table has amazing physics, and the lighting is some of the best I've seen in a long time. Table  oozes of professionalism  all the way. I highly recommend to play with Italian language and "thndrman" ROM, totally adds to the fun. Very well done @dvs626 and team!!

Late to this one but thank you for bringing this rare pin to the VP community. The playfield and backglass look beautiful - love the lighting and reflections. Most importantly it plays well and definitely has that 'just one more go' feel. Many thanks to @dvs626 and the other contributors for this gem.

Gotta love when a table comes out that you have never seen before, this is the case for me with Thunder Man. The table looks, plays and feels great and has a wonderful VR Room. Thanks to all.

I certainly didn't know that this table existed. Now I've got to go download Bounty Hunter too for comparison!

 

Wow, looks great and plays even better. Deceivingly simple layout but tough to hit the good shots.

 

I love that this rare table can now be enjoyed by the whole vpin community. Archiving and sharing these treasures is a pretty cool thing about this hobby.
