THE HEAT IS ON!!

Advertised as the first game to use 8-digit scoring, this 1986 Gottlieb classic is a vice worth having. Using Gottlieb's Sys80b MPU, Hollywood Heat was led by game designer John Trudeau feautring sound by Ken Hale. Production began in June 1986 with 3,400 cabinets being produced.
Featuring:
-4 Player
-3-ball Multiball
-In-sync drop targets
-Heat Bumper
-Hot Shot ramp

This table is my first to bring to life for the VPin community and has been a huge labor of love over the last couple of months. Influence for the table design comes from the classic 1984 tv series Miami Vice and I've tried
to bring that same spirit to the tables lights and images. Users are also now able switch GI lights between 'Miami' mode and 'Classic' incandescents. I play the table with a day/night percentage set to 20% to give the player a classic
Miami nightlife feel but the default is set to 50% for individuals who prefer the more common lighting.

Based on the 2021 Hollywood Heat (Gottlieb 1986) recreation by BorgDog, this updated table includes:
-VLM and VPW's toolkit visuals
-Nfozzy physics
-Fleep sounds
-Upscaled playfield
-Desktop Mode
-VR Room

Awesome!!  Now we just need an actual Miami Vice backglass and the game will be perfect.

Simply an excellent vpx conversion.

I was on the fence about it because of the real pinball's poor rating

But the Nfozzy physics and good looking screenshot convinced  me to tried it.

Very good surprise, catchy music and you made a great job about the lighting, especially in the bumper/captive ball aera with the "rotating" lights and reflections woo ! don't remeber anything like it the result is beautifull !

After switching back and forth finally I like the Miami lighting the best, good job here too.

I think the poor IRL pinball rating may be a lastability issue because it's clearly on the easy side and the ruleset isn't deep, two things that are much less relevent for vpx IMO with the many tables available.

Playing it it's great fun and very enjoyable change of pace  with 3  unusual features that work well (big captive ball aera, a 'small "jumping" bridge and a usefull "mini playfield" aera needed to capture two balls for multiball).

Thanks Mecha_Enron, excellent vpx addition and  a home-run on your first table 👍

This is a great table that obviously a lot of effort went into to make it that way. Thank you for all your work on this!

Wonderful table no matter how you look at it, it's true this ***Hollywood Heat*** breathes all that spirit of the Miami  series with that music in the background, and those pastel colors give it that touch even more if you choose the lighting from F12 ***Miami*** , with a very 80's feel, you play and enjoy every game, greetings from Argentina and thanks for another table along with Battlestar Galactica, The last Starfighter, it is in my favorites with that 80s spirit

Great to welcome another hugely talented author and marvel at a debut table that looks and plays so good, and incorporates nfozzy and fleep magic.  What a time to be a member of this community! Thanks @Mecha_Enron (and @BorgDog for all his initial work)

I've always kinda liked this table, both for it's "definitely NOT Miami Vice!" cheese factor and the great Gottlieb music and sound of this era, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record.... the stock VPX physics in the older editions just made it unplayable for me. It's so great to have this feeling like a real machine now. THANKS!🍻

The look is cool! The sound is hot! The action is awesome! These are quotes from the Hollywood Heat flyer, and now, my quotes for this table as well!  I never played HH in real life, but having spent some time with it, makes me feel like I played it in a real arcade. The look is cool indeed. Graphical details are excellent. You can play this game in some nice 80´s shoulder padded neon lights, or tone it down to your liking. The hot Jan Hammer inspired soundtrack by Ken Hale has never sounded better. The action is indeed awesome. NFozzy physics, and great playability. Once those 3 balls are trapped, you can basically feel Sonny and Crocket having a go at you as you try to control those silver balls. Can’t believe this is a debut table. Very well done @Mecha_Enron
