"You have just crossed over... into the Twilight Zone"

Finally. Been a while coming hasn't it?

VPW are very proud to present Twilight Zone by Bally/Midway, arguably one of the best pinball machines ever made!

Niwak wanted to test the idea of making his "VPX Blender Toolkit" back in 2022, and decided to use Twilight Zone as his first experiment in importing and converting a VPX table, a screenshot was posted of the test render and everyone was, like, "ooooo".

However... The tools were in their infancy and Niwak wasn't happy with how the table looked in motion compared to real life, so decided to go and rewrite both pinmame and vpx so that it could do real fading PWM lighting and numerous other things.
While this was going on rothbauer and nfozzy looked at the physics and then Sixtoe rebuilt and simplified the table in VPX after we found the dimensions of the original table were incorrect.

The project then went on hold as we wanted 10.8.0 to stabilise as this table needed the new features to work properly, and we're happy enough with where VPX 10.8.0 RC4 is that we've now punted this out the door into your caring arms.

Make sure to check out the in game "F12" options menu for loads of fancy mods!

What a nice table now is it possible to make 1 in B&W that would be awesome.

There are so many amazing table on here and so many solid versions of them but it's still rare that you fire up a version of a table you've played hundreds or thousands of times and the second it loads you actual gasp out loud.

What a treasure this thing is. I cannot thank all the artists involved enough for making this possible. Absolute stunning.

I don't know who did the lighting, but these are the best and most realistic shadows I've seen in all the years I've been using VPX.

Pretty much any table from VPW is an automatic download for me and this doesn't disappoint.  So much better than anything that has to be bought and this is free!!

Thanks for the great release, 5 star because it seems to look nice.

I also don't seem to get the table to rotate 270 degrees like other people mentioned in the reply's.

The camera properties panel doesn't show up, that's where I normaly change the angle if flipped.

I have around 50 tables already succesfully installed for my cabinet, this is the only one where I can't seem to change it.

Someone who know how to fix this maybe?

I CAN change my windows settings to portrait and change all other tables angles, but I'm sure there must be a faster way.

P.s. I do have the newest VPX VPinMame and B2S server updates

Edit: managed to change rotation myself.

Procedure:

Start Machine in VP(X).

Press F12 and change view mode with shift and control (flippers and magnasafe buttons).

When settings are as you want, press the 'start table' button, on my settings the enter button on the numpad.

Restart the machine and it will be flipped.

I've been playing this at a local bar/club that is mostly absent of lighting. I enjoyed the table immensely but had no idea that so many of the cab lights were broken so imagine my delight when I could finally see this beauty :P It is shockingly beautiful and it plays so well. Team VPW, thank you for releasing this into the wild! You are all the best ❤️

Guys it's spectacular. Next Gen level graphics, physics and fun.  Thank you !

Thankyou team.

I just played a bunch and had to come say what no one else has said yet, this table is awesome!! :)  or maybe that was mentioned a few times, this has to be the Look At What Virtual Pinball can do table.  Any who, playing it in VR is quite the experience and I can't see it getting any better, can it? Spoiler alert, update coming.... It's a perfect example of what happens when the great minds involved with this hobby get together and create. Oh, and totally awesome SSF too, thanks to all.

PS; I started exercising and eating well again to keep this body going so I will be able to see what's next.

I never played this pin in real life but it's my favourite table (having played the PFX, and TPA versions to death - I love the theme, the sounds, the call outs)

This is an absolute masterpiece, running it in 1080p on my dinosaur of a PC it looks and plays like a dream (in 4k it must be out of this world)

If I could ever afford to buy the real pin I would but this must be the next best thing as I feel like I do own the real pin with this version.  It's brutally difficult but I love it especially with all the mod options

VPW - guys you are absolute legends, I love all the tables you have produced

EDIT: anyone else find this table insanely hard?  don't get me wrong, I love it but boy I find it just about the most difficult virtual table by a country mile.  I somehow manage to hit the clock millions post 9 times out of 10 when trying to hit the ramps either side 🙂  and I can lose all 3 balls within a couple of minutes.  It's bordering on frustrating but its just so addictive

I tried adjusting the difficulty down to pretty much zero but it didn't seem to make much difference.  How does lowering the difficulty affect the game? is the slope of the table adjusted to make the ball a bit slower?  would be interest to know as I see a number of tables where the difficulty is set to 20 and wondered what the reason was and how the 'difficulty' level work

I am speechless! The bar continues to be raised. Amazing work!
