Thanks, that did it. Building the cabinet is challenging and fun, but basic skills. The software is the hard part, and I'm an IT guy! It's just a lot of different programs you have to learn, settings you have to learn for each program. It's a lot for a newbie like myself. But I love a challenge, so it's all good. Having fun with these tables.

It gets easier with time, and before you know becomes second nature. Welcome to the hobby!

Hey folks. Just downloaded this and I am seeing something weird with the magnet under the hammer. The magnet is not grabbing the ball when its supposed to. It kind of goes over the magnet wildly and then the hammer comes down without the ball going underneath. Is this a known issue?

Hmm which discord are you referring to 🤔 ? I just discovered the VPU server as well as the virtual pinball chat, but can't seem to find a Metallica channel? Are you referring to an open public discord or something only for devs/creators?

Thank you very much. download the LE rom from stern compress it and change the spelling to match the name of rom in the script mtl_180h. hit  enter and restart table a few times and table runs great ,adjusted the Y scale to 1.3 fits on 42 OLED perfect and the music is awesome.

Never had an issue with the last release, but when I try to load this I get the following error:

Can't start game mtl_180hc

Variable is undefined: 'F126a'

Reinstalled and it worked.

I see an error window "Fatal error D3DERR:DEVICEHUNG (0x88760874: Hardware adapter reset by OS) at D:\vpinball\vpinball\scr\renderer\RenderDevice.cpp:1469" right after the b2s started on my second screen.

Somewhere I read it could be the power draw of my graphic card....Or  somewhere else "the failure disappeared after updating VPinball". I have a lot of the most recent tables working and VPinball is 10.8 RC3 X64, as far as I remember.

Have someone a clue, what´s wrong with my setup? thanks

Update: I may have answered my own question. RC4 is listed as required. I will try it out as soon as possible

Update update: RC4 showed the same error. I limited the textures to 4k and the error has not reappeared so far.

...but since I was happy with the result, I didn't reverse the textures to unlimited for validation.

Love this table, love the updated 2.0 version. I  had a bit of trouble getting the DMD to work. I did all the required updates (VPX, VPINMame, B2S), but the DMD would not display. Was getting this error: no external dmd driver found or dmd driver functions not found. Turns out it was not a problem with the table but with one of my other updates. I figured this out by loading up my other tables and none of the DMDs on those tables were working either. Did a lot of troubleshooting, eventually updating Freezy fixed my issue. I used this version: https://github.com/freezy/dmd-extensions?tab=readme-ov-file#manual-installation. I also had to update my C++ redist to the version listed on the page, so make sure you do that if you are having this error.

Hello. I'm really looking forward to this table. I'm sort of new to this - I have about 10 other tables and this is the only table presenting this issue for me. No script errors, plays fast and fine. The other items (plastics, ramps, flippers etc) all look great. Win11/ i7 / 16 GB DDR4 / 3060ti. All the latest updates with everything using PUP updater. I've tried the 64GL and 64DX executables. See image. Thanks much

Thanks! I hit the CTL key one time worked for me. I was so baffled by why the table didn't have inky blacks even on the darkest settings in the table options. Now it looks fabulous. I appreciate it!

I am having the same issue, but ctl does not seem to do anything. What did you do exactly?

I have EXACTLY the same problem. I've reviewed the table script and any change I have made has resulted in zero results. Have you (or anyone) found any resolution to this issue?! Thank you in advance.

Hi, any chance to get the songs louder? ROM volume is on maximum. Maybe there an option like in the Iron Maiden script? I love the table, but the songs should be louder

Crank up the volume on your amp, and if the other volumes are too loud you can balance them through the F12 table options menu.

I downloaded the rom from stern and put it in my pinmame folder but I still get the error rom set is missing vpinmsme can’t run the game. Any suggestions or format I need to consider the rom?

In my case, I renamed the .bin file to "MTL180h"and zipped it to a folder named "mtl_180h".

there is something with the playfield at my side, if i get into menu's the playfield does look normal, but when playing it looks glitchy and pixeled at some parts. Also the ball moves a bit laggy, there must be something wrong in my settings but what? Other tables work normally.

I managed also to get into settings in the table, but failed to save and try again. I forgot which button I had to use, but did not manage to get it up again. I also do not know what should be changed.

Fantastic table!
But... is it possible to change the number of credits per game? It's currently set to 4, and I'd like to change it to 1 credit per game, if possible. I have no idea if that's possible, and if so, where I should do it.

Hit F2 for the keys used to get into the portals menu.  The 0 key is the enter key and left and right flippers move you through. I'm not sure with SAM systems that you can get it to 1 credit per coin but you can create a custom pricing to do it.

You'll need to access ROM menu adjustments to change to 1 credit per game. Launch the game and press 0 on your keyboard to launch the ROM Service mode, then hit 0 again to access the service menus. Select ADJ (move right by pressing 9, move left by pressing 8, select by pressing 0), then select SPI (standard adjustments). In there navigate to option #18 (game pricing), press 0 to select and 8/9 to change to USA 1 (1/0.25), press 0 to set the option and then 7 repeatedly to exit out of the ROM adjustments.

This process works on most SAM-based Stern games. Also, as @Cliffy already mentioned, the SAM navigation keys are referenced in the F2 menu.
