[New VP10 Alert] Metallica Premium Monsters (Stern 2013) VPW Mod

Recommended Posts

Thanks makmak for the advice, but I had the same slow performance after disable the internect connection. In this pinball machine I have no anti-virus either.

I tried to let the config as simple as possible to see if the performance improved, but I don´t see any improvement at all, no matter what I change in the configuration. I believe the changes has effect and it worked for AC/DC table, that was having some lags during play and i fixed decreasing the detail level.

I tried 3 different Metallica tables. All of them with the same performance issue. I´m doing tests in the BIGUS mod roght now. See below my current config and you´ll agree a low-end computer should not have problem.

Thank you so much Outhere for the msg.

My Hardware is not so much but it works well.

Ryzen 3 2200g

NVIDIA GeFOrce GTX 1650

8 GB RAM

I have 3 monitors

   Playfield 32' 3840x2160

   Backglass 24' 1920x1080

   DMD 14.6' 1920x515

Maybe it´s VPX  10.7.1.

I tried to remove elements from the playfield and it seems nothing changes in the performance.

My video configuration is similar to your config.

If you tell me a table you think is heavy I can try and see the result. I still think there´s a specific problem with this table.

No, I keep it disabled.

This may be late to the party, but saw this and thought it may be of help in general.  You may have much much more performant results by setting both FPS Limiter and Maximum Pre-rendered Frames to 1, rather than 0, assuming you have not already tried this...

Best of luck,

Dylan

Apologies for the retarded question.

I updated my VPX from 10.6 to 10.72 and with this table trying to change the rom name in the script from mtl_180h to mtl_170h but cannot edit anything??

With VPX 10.6 I never had this problem, not sure what I am doing wrong but any help will be much applicated thanks.

table says i need  mtl180h.bin.

You can change that in the script of the table:

 Const cGameName = "mtl_170hc"
  'Const cGameName = "mtl_170h"
  'Const cGameName = "mtl_180hc"
  'Const cGameName = "mtl_180h"

The line without ' is calling the rom.
So you can put a ' in front of the line you dont want to use or delete the ' of the line with the rom you want.
Edit your script. Compile. Save the table.

Thank you!  Came here because I had the same issue.  This worked for me also.   Appreciate it.

It's a really nice looking table, but the playability seems way off to me. There is a massive amount of ball spin causing unnatural outlane drains and ramp misses. It's also impossible to catch the ball with the flipper. I've played around with physics to make it feel a bit more real, but it's still not even close to how nice the other VPW tables are to play. I'm going back to my old version of this table for now. If anyone has any physics/setting suggestions that address this, I'd love to hear them.

Hi all, thank you for this great table, but it starts with this error in my cab with Vpinball 1.7.3.

Runtime error
-------------
Line: 1472
Overflow: 'VR_Primary_plunger.y'

All cleared up now, after a restart of vpinball the error disappeared, just a one time thing probably.

I commented out line 136 and it works now. Still bothers me as to  what is actually causing the errors.  Guess I shouldn't mess with stuff I don't know much about when I'm drinking.

Apparently you loaded it first time upside down and the second time side ways. Joking aside, never worry about messing wih stuff that you know nothing about. i do it all the time. I'll bet I've reloaded VPX  and Windows 10 more times than anyone on this site. Haven't been able to break either one.

What version of VPM do you have running?  Have you tried testing the rom?

If those are good, it could also be a VPX Beta bug.
